That evening, the girls were sitting around the cabin talking before bed.
"I can't believe Matt did that earlier," said Lizzie. She was talking about her younger brother who had tried to embarrass her with photoshopped pictures of her that he had brought with him.
"Yeah, well I don't think the little snot will be trying that again after being thrown into the lake," said Maria.
"You know, I'm usually not one for littering but…," said Addie, which got a good laugh out of the other girls. Suddenly, Sharon leaned too close to an outlet which caused her braces to shoot electricity at it.
"What the?" asked Miranda as the power went out.
"Did a breaker blow?" asked Geena while turning on a small flashlight that she had.
"Maybe," said Maria as she side eyed Sharon. Suddenly, the door to the cabin opened.
"Are you girls alright?" asked a female counselor who had walked in after seeing the light suddenly go out like it had.
"We're fine, but we think the breaker blew," said Lizzie.
"Probably a squirrel messing with the wires," said the counselor.
"It happens a lot really, the little rodents keep finding their way into the electrical boxes on the cabins," she said.
"Guess we'll be going to sleep early then," said Addie. While everyone was moving around to head for their bunks, Maria passed Sharon.
"You had better hope that there is damage from a squirrel when they go to check," whispered Maria.
"I know," said Sharon. Once in her bunk, Sharon couldn't close her eyes for a couple of minutes as she was worried.
"If they don't find any sign of damage, will they think we all did something?" she thought while looking up at the bottom of the bed over her bed.
