Note: Oh hello again. I'm pretty happy with this chapter even though it is a short one. Here's hoping we can keep this writing momentum going!

Big thanks to AzikaRue394, James Birdsong, and Player Zero for their reviews on the last chapter!

"You should probably go..."

Mariam wasn't sure what time it was. It was easy to lose track of time with Max. But it was late, night creeping into the hotel room from the crack in the curtains, and it was true. She didn't want it to be, the tell in her voice obvious as she laid in bed with Max, but he probably should go home. Her fingers traced his jaw down to his chin in the silence.

Max grunted in dismissal, turning his face into her hand. He kissed her palm, down to her wrist and along her arm.

"I don't want to."

She didn't want him to leave. Mariam wouldn't admit that, not yet. His playful kisses had finally met her shoulder and she used her newly freed hand to grasp the base of his neck. She could feel his slight smile against her skin in the dark.

"I'm not the one you need to convince." Mariam bit her lip when his mouth moved to her collarbone, unwilling to give him further motivation. Her nails grazed the skin of his back in warning, instead he just shivered against her touch.

"It can't be that late." He paused. One of Mariam's legs was draped over his hip. His hands glided over the smooth skin of her calf to her knee in appreciation.

Mariam loved the attention, especially when his lips continued their journey up along her neck. "Late enough for your mother."

Max grunted again in dismissal, but was not swayed to stop. Mariam didn't want to think about Judy either as his hand moved higher along her thigh.

Her eyes closed tightly when Max found the sweet spot right below her ear. His smile grew against her neck as Mariam let out a soft hum. She tugged his head further into her neck out of habit.

"You sure you want me to leave?"

Max paused again before he left another trail of softer, less eager kisses across her jaw. He was more tempting than he thought.

Mariam opened her eyes, adjusting to the dark room again. He pulled away enough to meet her gaze, eyes wide in curiosity. She was silent at first, tracing his silhouette in the blue light. It didn't take long for her to close the distance between them again.

Judy could wait a little longer.
