Hours earlier, in Mr Gold's Pawn Shop, Regina walked into the shop to be greeted by Mr Gold and the Professor. She stopped at the counter. "Any news from your father?" she asked the Professor.

The Professor shook his head. "No. Not yet."

"They're all up against Cora. The only chance Snow and Emma have of defeating her is with the squid ink," Mr Gold stated.

"Which is why we sent the Doctor," Regina answered. "We know what Time Lords are like." She glanced over at the Professor.

"Which would be beneficial if we knew that he arrived. And knowing the TARDIS, he may have not have arrived when he wanted. He may have not seen Snow and Emma," Mr Gold stated. that message was delivered. "As such, it's important we take precautions. We must consider the possibility that, when that portal opens, it won't be his family that comes through. It'll be Cora."

"Of course Cora will use a portal," the Professor said. "If my father succeeds, they'll be taking the TARDIS. They won't need a portal. Any portal."

"And neither one of us wants that," Regina said.

"We have to find where they're coming through and destroy that portal," Mr Gold explained as he walked away from the counter.

"Exactly." Mr Gold turned around to Regina. "But I'm confident between the three of us, we can summon up enough magic to complete the task."

"Well, what if we're wrong? What if that portal opens, and it's not my mother?"

"If we stop, Cora, you are protected from your mother's wrath. If, on the other hand, we stop someone else, well… Look, magic is unpredictable in this world. If something unfortunate were to happen while you were attempting to help with a portal…" Mr Gold scoffed at the thought. "Henry could hardly blame you for that, could he?"

"No. I can't lie to my son. I am trying to be a better mother."

"You won't be able to be a better anything if Cora comes through. And if she does, she will be a threat to everyone, including your son. So, if you truly want to be a good mother to Henry, to protect him, if you want to be better, prove it."

The three of them found themselves beneath Storybrooke. In the mines that housed the fairy dust. Moreover, the diamonds that the fairy dust came from. They walked the maze as they looked around. "I'm delighted you, uh, came to your senses," Mr Gold said, his cane making a soft noise against the stones beneath them.

"Let's just get this over with," Regina said.

"It's right through here," Mr Gold said before looking up at the ceiling and saw the diamonds sparkling down at them. "Ah, yes. Should suit our purposes, no?"

"How much do we need?" the Professor asked.

Mr Gold took out a fairy wand and scoffed. "All of it."

"How are we going to do that?" Regina asked.

"With a little help from a fairy. Dead one. Believe me, no one mourns her." Mr Gold aimed the fairy wand at the diamonds, and the wand began to glow red as it began to absorb the magic from the crystals. Once the process was done, the wand turned blue.
