A few days later, Mr Gold was in his shop, standing at the counter with the Professor. Both were waiting for a few people. Belle was the first one to arrive.

"Hey," she said, rushing through the door and over to where Mr Gold stood. "What's wrong that you couldn't tell me over the phone?"

"I'd prefer to say until everyone is here," Mr Gold said.

"The Doctor?" Belle asked before the TARDIS began to appear in the middle of the shop, filling the room with the same old wheezing and groaning.

Stepping outside, the Doctor looked around the room, where he saw the others at the counter. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"I did it. I can leave," Mr Gold said.

"Leave Storybrooke?" Belle asked confusedly. "But we could already do that..."

"Indeed we could," Mr Gold said, reaching for a potion bottle and grabbing it. "But if I pour this potion onto the object I hold most dear, that object becomes a talisman. It allows me to cross the town line and still remember who I am."

"What's the difference between that and the bracelets?" the Doctor asked.

"Well, the talisman won't allow me to use magic, which is exactly what I need to be able to see my boy. I need to show him I can be strong. That I don't need magic."

The Doctor nodded. "What is it you plan on enchanting?" he asked.

Mr Gold walked to the wall safe and opened it. Then, removing a brown shawl, he returned to the counter and placed it on it. "This shawl," he answered. "It's all I have left of my Baelfire."

"I don't suppose I could come with you?" Belle asked. "Seeing as we've left Storybrooke together once before..."

"Of course," the Professor answered with a smile. "You'll have a bracelet on. And we can pay our respects to Amy and Rory."
