CLAN PORR

Clan Porr is a Mandalorian Clan that, despite being generally welcoming, is also quite secretive.

The member of the clan guard their secrets, including their true origin, closely.

I encountered the clan while on the hunt for the kidnapped daughter of a senator. As it turns out, the senator was unwilling to place all of their faith in the Jedi Order and hired a Mandalorian woman, Torrun of Clan Porr, to find his daughter as well. It was inevitable that the two of us would cross paths.

To my relief, Torrun was willing to work alongside me to rescue the senators daughter, rather than to fight me to ensure she was paid.

Torrun was, by all appearance, no different from many Mandalorians in the galaxy. She wore full beskar armor, a helmet, wore a jet-pack, and carried several weapons. Without her helmet, she was a tall human, with golden blonde hair and bright blue eyes. The only thing I found that truly made her stand out was that she seemed to favor using a sword, which she called Jarnsaxa, over her other weapons. In truth, the only times I a saw her use another weapon during our hunt for the senator's daughter, was when drawing the sword was otherwise impractical.

It wasn't until after we had successfully rescued the Senators daughter that I truly understood how unique Torrun, her clan, and her sword were.

We found the senator's daughter hidden in a remote pirate base, which was hidden on an asteroid. The pirates had planned to ransom the girl back to her father, but that was not to say the girl was unharmed. And the pirate base itself was not equipped to deal with her injuries. At the time of finding the senator's daughter, we had yet to fully secure the pirates that called the base home. To my surprise, Torrun set Jarnsaxa on the floor in front of the girl, and instruct the sword to protect the her while she and I secured the base.

To my shock, the sword, which until that seemed to be nothing extraordinary, began to float in front of the girl. I do not know how much the girl in question noticed, or even cared, about the fact this simple sword, not even a vibroblade, with absolutely no technology integrated into itself, was floating. I myself was stunned, especially as I felt nothing odd in The Force. Silent for several moments, I almost missed it when Torrun assured me Jarnsaxa would protect the girl, before I was forced to follow my Mandalorian companion as we left the room to finish securing the base.

Afterward, when we returned to the room, the sword was gone, and a brown haired young woman, wearing a simple but elegant dress, was knelt next to the senators daughter, treating her injuries. Before I could question who the woman was, and how she had gotten to the base, Torrun addressed her, drawing her attention by calling, "Jarnsaxa," before asking, "How is she?"

The woman, who apparently shared her name with Torrun's sword, replied back, "The girl needs medical attention. I think The Fleet is closer than any other medical center."

With a simple nod, Torrun then asked, "Will you be able to monitor on the trip back?"

Jarnsaxa nodded, and gave Torrun a grin, "I can monitor you can't I Wife?"

Torrun chuckled, and walked forward. She gently scooped the young girl up in her arms, before turning back to her apparent wife and saying, "I won't be much use in a fight carrying her if we didn't get all the pirates."

"Then I guess I better go first, while the Jetti, follows behind," Jarnsaxa said.

I was then stunned to witness as the woman I had thought to simply share a name with a sword, actually changed before my eyes into the sword I had witnessed Torrun carrying, before floating, without any assistance, in front of the Mandalorian and her charge as I followed them back to our ship.

During our short trip to what I simply knew at the time as 'The Fleet,' I was able to get Torrun to answer only a few of my many questions.

Clan Porr included member that seemed as though they were inanimate objects, ranging from a simple cloak, all the way up to the complex systems of the a capital battleship, which was their clan home, as well as their Clan Leader Porr, who was Torrun's mother, and Jarnsaxa's great-great-great-grandmother.

Torrun refused to explain further, other than to say that, while not every ship in the clan was a sentient being, such as her own ship, many of them were.

Needless to say, by the time we landed in the hanger of a large battleship, I was as full of questions as I was nervous.

Torrun, and a human Jarnsaxa, carried the senator's daughter off of the ship, were we were greeted by two women. A dark haired woman wearing a dress very similar to Jarnsaxa's, and an older blonde, dressed in Mandalorian armor.

They were introduced as Porr, and her wife Siv. In a literal flash, Torrun, Jarnsaxa, and the senator's daughter were gone, as was the dark haired woman. It was the blonde Mandalorian, who identified herself as Siv, that reassured me that Porr had simply taken them to the medical wing. She then warned me that there were no secrets from Porr while within the ship.

While escorting myself to the medical wing, Siv was willing to answer some more of my questions, though still not all.

Porr, as a ship, could manifest physically anywhere within the ships walls, and she could take others with her. She also was aware of everything that actually happened within her walls.

It apparently made parenting somewhat easy, which was why many of the clan with children stayed on Porr while their children were young. It helped that Porr loved having her various children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and so on so close. I was also assured that not every member of the clan was actually descended from Porr and Siv herself. Siv refused to answer any questions about her own age, or how they had children that were both fully human, and others that became sentient objects. Though she did say that those children that were objects, tended to prefer being in their object form, only changing when the situation called for it, or for intimacy with their spouse or children. And that, despite lacking any mouth, there were various ways the sentient objects that were her and Porr's descendants could communicate.

She also warned me to be careful, because all of the children loved pranks.

This was apparently a trait shared by Porr, who often encouraged the trait in her children, grandchildren, and so forth as she watched them.

Over the course of my week long stay with the clan, I was subject to many pranks, though all were actually quite harmless. The most embarrassing was on my first night, when it turned out that the mirror in the room I was given was actually one of Torrun's younger sisters. The flirting as I changed my clothes was quite shocking, especially as it took me some time to figure out it was the mirror at first.

The next day Porr explained to me that many of her descendants took cousins as spouses, but there were those that took outsiders. Apparently quite a few, including the mirror (who I discovered was named Regina), that were curious about bonding themselves (the term they used for their marriages) to a Jedi.

Luckily, she promised me she would prevent the more pushy of her clan from going too far while I was a guest within her walls, but that didn't mean she'd stop anything she deemed harmless.

It seemed that once it was learned that I was uninterested in any romantic relationship, the flirting died a quick death, though that didn't stop the pranks.

A week later, with the senator's daughter deemed well enough to travel home, Torrun, Jarnsaxa, and myself boarded our ship to return the girl. I took little notice of the hammer the senator's daughter carried with her aboard the ship at the time.

Three years later, when I heard the scandal of the same senator's daughter running off to join a Mandalorian Clan, I figured that the hammer was much more than it seemed at the time.

This clan was inspired by two ideas. The first, and probably most obvious, is my love of Marvel fanfictions that depict Mjolnir and/or The Cloak of Levitation as sentient beings in their own right. The second, involved a star wars idea about a sentient ship. The ideas meshed very well together, and I decided to turn them into this clan for others to use.

I do want to add, if anyone does decide to use these clans in their stories, you are more than free to change names or use other clan members than those I list.
