Back in New York, Neal was pacing around before clearing his throat. Emma, who was with Mr Gold, turned around. "What are you doing?" She asked him.

"Getting us a car," Neal responded as she started to text on his phone.

"I thought we were gonna take a ship."

"Yeah, well, we still gotta get his arse to the ship." "So, you know Hook?"

"It's a long story. The short version is this world wasn't my first stop when I left home."

"No?"

"If it were, I'd be a couple of hundred years old," Neal said as his phone started to ring. "That should be our ride. Hang tight." He went to the other room to answer it.

The Professor had been looking at Emma's phone so that he could charge it. Once he could do so, he went over to where Emma was sitting. "You need to see this," he said.

Emma turned around. "What is it?"

"A text from your parents," the Professor said, handing her phone back. Taking it back, she read over it. "Bad news, Gold," she said.

"What? Worse than incurable poison?" Mr Gold asked.

"I don't know. You tell me. You got a dagger hidden in Storybrooke that's the source of all your power?"

"Get to the point."

"Cora's after it. The only way to stop her is if David and Mary Margaret get to it first." "Let Cora try."

"You can't seriously be willing to risk this. Not with your son coming back with you to Storybrooke."

"Emma," the Professor began, "Cora will not get that dagger. It is in the safest place. No one can get past those doors."

"But here's the thing," Emma said. "Gold, you're dying. And now, we are your best hope. The time's come for you to start trusting people. And if I were you, I'd start with family. And wherever that dagger is, family will give it an extra layer of protection."

Back in Storybrooke, Mary Margaret, David and Mother Superior were standing outside Mr Gold's shop, attempting to get inside.

Mother Superior sighed, then aimed her wand at the door, focusing on opening it. The wand glowed, and then, after a few more seconds, she dropped it in pain. "Ah!" she exclaimed, then panted. "He's cast a protection spell."

"Well, we need to try something equally powerful," Mary Margaret said.

"Dark magic?" David asked.

"Dear. You don't know what you're saying," Mother Superior said.

"Cora can't get that dagger," Mary Margaret said. "If dark magic is the only thing that can break that protection spell, we need to make an exception and use it. Just what you told me once before."

Mother Superior looked at her. "I never told you any such thing."

"Look, I kept you secret."

Mother Superior furrowed her brows and tilted her head. What was Mary Margaret talking about? But her thoughts were lost when David's phone started to ring. He picked it up.

"Everyone hold on," he said before speaking into the phone. "Emma? He told you where it is?" Then, nodding, he hung up the phone and turned his attention back to his wife. "We need to visit the Doctor.

Arriving back at the monastery, Mother Superior showed the two where the Doctor's room was. David knocked on the door, and Mother Superior left them alone.

The Doctor answered it and looked over at the two of them. "Now, what do you want?" he asked. Ever since he arrived in Storybrooke, Mary Margaret and David always needed his help. Couldn't they figure something out without him? "I'm surprised you two managed to get your kingdom back in the first place."

"It's about Cora," Mary Margaret said. "She wants to get the Dark One's dagger."

The Doctor looked back at them. "Guys, don't worry. It's safe. She won't get it."

"But wouldn't you like to know that it is safe?" David asked.

The Doctor looked at him. "What do you have in mind?"

The Doctor led them through the halls of the Storybrooke Monastery till they got out the back door. He walked through the backyard until he got to the TARDIS – which was hidden by bushes in the corner. He took out his key and unlocked the doors.

Mary Margaret and David watched him curiously. "Why is your ship far away from your room?" David asked.

The Doctor turned around. "Because it's the most powerful ship in the universe. It needs to be safe." And, with that, he went inside, followed by both Mary Margaret and David.

The Doctor walked over to the hexagonal centre console and flipped one switch, and the doors shut and locked again. He then fiddled with some more buttons and controls.

"What are you doing?" David asked as he watched the Time Lord.

"Just turning on the HADS," the Doctor answered.

"The what?"

"The Hostile Action Displacement System. When the TARDIS is in a hostile environment, the TARDIS will relocate itself to a safer place," the Doctor explained. "If we're going to the dagger, I need to know that it's safe. Especially if Cora is after it." It was the source of great power, after all. He turned to go down a corridor. "Come. Follow me."

Once they were halfway to where the dagger was now situated, they all stopped suddenly. They heard the faint sounds of the TARDIS engines. They were in flight.

"What was that?" Mary Margaret asked.

"The TARDIS taking off. There's only one reason that would be," the Doctor said.

"Regina and Cora ..." Mary Margaret began.

"...They found us," David finished.

The Doctor nodded and continued to the room. Once there, he went inside and went over to the wall of safes. He chose one and placed his palm on the front, making the door swing open and revealed the Dark One's Dagger. "Told you it would be safe," he said.

"A clever hiding place for a very clever man," David said when the lights turned off suddenly.

"Okay..." the Doctor said as he looked over the room. It was darker now. Taking out his sonic screwdriver, he gave it a whir, scanning the area with it.

"The power's out. No defences or anything," the Doctor answered. "Like it's caught in an interfering signal." He took the dagger and began to walk towards the door. "I'll have to go to the main engines. Reboot the whole system."

"They must have found a way. They always find a way," Mary Margaret said.

"It may not be them," the Doctor said. "The TARDIS could have taken us anywhere in time and space. So we might not be in Storybrooke anymore."

They walked down the corridors of the TARDIS again until they reached another door. Looking through the window, the Doctor turned around. "Is that it?" he asked.

The Doctor shook his head. "No. We have to go through here to reach the main engines," the Doctor replied. "But we just can't stay there for long." He opened the door and walked inside. It was a bridge to the door on the other side. However, the temperature was hotter than the rest of the ship since the only thing in the air was a big giant star. The Doctor turned around. "The Eye of Harmony! An exploding star on the verge of becoming a Black Hole. Hurry!"

They all took a few more steps when a cloud of purple smoke stopped them from advancing. "No! We're not doing this here," the Doctor said. "We can't stay here for long."

Cora waved her hand and magically created a purple forcefield around them.

"Funny how you say the TARDIS is impregnable, Doctor, but with the right technology, it can be easily breached," Cora said, throwing a golden medallion of the Wraith at his feet. "Now, the dagger."

The Doctor picked up the medallion, letting the golden chain dangle through his fingers.

"You're too late," David stated.

"It seems we found you just in time," Cora said.

Mary Margaret turned to focus her attention on Regina. "I told you to pick your side carefully. Good has won, just as it always does."

Cora chuckled. "I think the day has finally come, my darling Snow, for you to learn a long overdue lesson." She put her hand up and poofed Johanna, Mary Margaret's old nanny, into the room with them.

"Johanna!" Mary Margaret exclaimed.

"You see, in the end, it isn't good or evil that wins, but power."

The Doctor stared at her, shaking his head. "That's not true. That's never true."

"Oh, Doctor. You should know that more than anyone. Your enemies fear you. Of your power. Of what you are."

Regina walked in front of Johanna and stuck her hand in her chest, ripping out her heart. Everyone gasped, and the Doctor took his sonic screwdriver out. Regina turned to face them. "Your choice."

"Do not harm her. She has nothing to do with this," Mary Margaret said.

"Of course she does," Cora said.

"Whatever they want, Snow, don't give it to them," Johanna said.

"Quiet, handmaid," Cora said as David took his gun out.

"Mother, watch out," Regina said as Cora waved her hand, knocking David's gun through the forcefield and into the Eye of Harmony.

"Leave me, Snow!" Johanna exclaimed as Regina started to squeeze her heart.

The Doctor aimed the sonic at the heart in her hand and gave it a whir, which loosened Regina's grip.

"What are you doing?" David whispered to the Doctor.

"Oh, just reversing the polarity," the Doctor said.

"Enough of this. Surrender the dagger," Cora said. "We all know you will follow your mother's example, no matter the cost. All she ever wanted was for you to be good."

Mary Margaret stared at her. "Those words?" Suddenly, it all made sense to her. "Where did you hear those words?"

"Where do you think?"

"The Blue Fairy made me swear never to speak of that candle again. Not because it was a secret, but because it wasn't her."

Cora outstretched her hand. "The dagger."

"She didn't give me that candle. You did. My mother wasn't sick at all, was she?"

Cora chuckled. "Oh, she was quite sick."

"You did all of this. You killed my mother."

"The candle would have worked. You could have saved your mother."

"But you knew I wouldn't. Why? Why did you take her from me?"

"To make my daughter the queen," Cora said, making Regina turn her head to Cora in surprise.

"Hand over the dagger," Regina said.

"No. No. I will not let you win. Not again," Mary Margaret said.

"You already lost your mother. How many connections to her do you have left? Few, I'd wager," Cora said.

"If we give up the dagger, we can still win," David whispered to the Doctor.

"Let me go, Snow! It's all right," Johanna said, but Regina squeezed her heart again. But the Doctor countered it with the sonic.

"What would she say if she could see you now?" Cora asked. "If she wasn't dead?" Cora held out her hand. "The dagger."

The Doctor looked at everyone before lowering his sonic. He couldn't let this go on long enough. He reached into his robes and pulled out the dagger. He knew that they would get it back, personally. He would make sure of it.

Cora approached and took it from him. "Thank you."

"You have what you came here for," Mary Margaret said, and Regina put Johanna's hand back inside her body.

Once it was back inside, Johanna went to the Doctor, Mary Margaret, and David. Cora watched, then shook her head. "Not quite everything." And with that, she magically threw Johanna into the Eye of Harmony, leaving the three horrified.

Mary Margaret broke into tears, and David held her tightly.

"Well, there you go," Regina said. "You see where good gets you?" And with that, Regina and Cora poofed out of the TARDIS.

The Doctor started to usher Mary Margaret and David out of the Eye of Harmony room. "Come along, Charmings."
