"Why didn't you try to kill me?" Robin asked the moment she entered King's tent.

"What?" King was surprised, "What are you talking about?"

"Zoro said you kill anyone who sees your face."

"Ah, yes, anyone who sees it and I suspect is about to rat me out." King said, "But I'm not such a scum as to kill someone who comes to save my life. I don't think you are the type to flip on me to the World Government, even if unluckily they catch you."

"After what happened in Enies Lobby, if they manage to catch me, they would kill me before they bothered talking to me." Robin answered bitterly.

"I hate them so much!" King hissed passionately, "So many wrongdoings, and in the name of some false 'justice' on top of it! If someone could take them apart, overthrow them from power, I'd be the first to come and help them!"

"There were quite a few wrongdoings here in Wano as well." Robin remarked quietly.

"That's true." King said, "And I admit that in many cases I turned a blind eye. I was less interested in what was going on within the country, it was Orochi's responsibility. It was more important to me to act to bring Kaido to be the pirate king... Wait a minute, where is Kaido? How did the battle end? Am I your captive?" King tried to get up on his elbow again.

Robin poured him a large cup of sake and served it to him. King took the cup absently and kept staring at her, waiting for an answer.

"Luffy defeated Kaido." Robin answered slowly.

"Impossible!" King was surprised, "No way! Kaido is the most powerful in the world!"

"Was." Robin answered calmly. "Now it's Luffy's turn."

"This chibi? The strongest in the world? I saw the sky torn apart, but... What happened to Kaido? Is he dead?"

"Not yet, but he is dying. He cannot be saved. He has been injured in vital organs."

"Where is he? I want to see him." King finished the contents of the cup and made a gesture for additional filling.

"He's not far from here, but both of you are not in a condition to get up." Robin answered and refilled the cup.

"My legs were not injured. I will drink the sake and go see him."

"I understand you can't be persuaded otherwise. Chopper said you may have balance issues because of the wing, take it into account. Wait a minute, I'm going to get you something."

Robin went out and King drank cup after cup, until he finished the barrel. Just as he was thinking of trying to sit and get up, Robin came in, with a black cloth in her hand.

"Wow, your fire is back!" said Robin at the sight of the flame burning at the back King's head.

"Still not a hundred percent, but definitely much better." King replied. "What did you bring?"

"I was looking for something you could put on instead of your mask, but I only found this. It probably fell off the island earlier." Robin handed King the black cloth.

King smiled. "The Beast Pirates flag?"

"Yeah, I punched holes for your eyes. Be careful not to burn it, it's just an ordinary cloth."

"Thanks, I'll manage."

King sat up, a little dizzied, and balanced himself with his hands. He felt strange doing this, he always balanced himself with the help of his wings, but now he tried not to move them. His head touched the fabric of the tent and pushed it upwards.

He tied the flag around his head and tucked the edges into the collar of his shirt. The shirt was cut open at the front, but the bandages that surrounded his entire chest and abdomen concealed any piece of skin from sight.

Robin's hands removed the tent cloth from over him, and he carefully tried to stand. He tripped and almost fell, but suddenly a big woman supported him, helping him stabilize.

Robin stood in front of him with crossed hands, making a replica of herself 6 meters tall. King, who is 6.13 meters tall, leaned on her shoulder in gratitude. Together, they began a careful, measured march toward the crater where Kaido lay.
