Mary Margaret was still looking around in the vault when she decided to look at one last box. She went over to it and opened it, revealing some boxes – with one having a glowing, red object inside. She took it out and opened it, revealing Cora's heart inside. She shut it suddenly, breathing heavily, before opening it again. She had to do it. She had to protect her family. And the town. She took out a lighter and lit both ends of the candle. Once Mary Margaret lit the candle, she held it over the beating heart and whispered, "Cora ..."

After she spoke the name, her voice echoed around her before she blew out the candlelight.

The Doctor and the Professor showed the others to the Zero Room, where Mr Gold was lying in the air beside Belle. Neal went over to the other side of him. "We'll stop Cora," he said.

"I know, I know," Mr Gold said, then shifted on the invisible bed. "Belle, there's something I need to say to you."

Belle looked over at him. "What is it?" She asked.

Mr Gold breathed heavily, catching his breath. "You are a hero who helped your people. You're a beautiful woman who loved an ugly man. Really, really loved me. You find goodness in others, and when it's not there, you create it. You want to make me go back. Back to the best version of me, And that's never happened before. Thank you."

Everyone was silent for a moment. They were beautiful words. Tear-jerking words. "Didn't know you had that in you," Neal replied.

"Oh, I'm full of love. I've spent a lifetime looking for you," Mr Gold told Neal. "For a chance to say I love you. And I'm sorry."

Everyone was silent for a moment. Then, Neal was the first one to break it. "I didn't think you would go back on our deal."

"I just made the wrong choice." Mr Gold reached out to take Neal's hand. He hoped that he would take it. "May I?"

"I'm still angry," Neal said. He was now filled with so much emotion that his voice began to break.

"I know," Mr Gold said before Neal reached out and took his father's hand. He turned around and leaned forward, resting his forehead on their hands.

Regina made it back to her vault and climbed down the stairs. She looked around to see who this intruder was. A few more steps, and she saw them. It was Mary Margaret, and she was holding a box. Regina gasped, staring at Mary Margaret. "You have no right to be here," she said, then saw her holding a box. "And you have no right to that."

"I was going to give it to you," Mary Margaret replied. "What?"

"She can't love you, you know. She doesn't have her heart. With it, maybe she can. That's why you've never felt she loved you. She doesn't have her heart. But I do."

"You're doing this for me?"

"Think about it. What would happen if Cora had her heart back? Back inside her?"

"She told me she took it out to protect herself."

"And did it work? The person she was before, do you think that person survived? She can't love, so she can't love you."

Regina shook her head slightly. "She always wanted what's best for me," she said, her voice breaking. "That's love."

"Imagine real love," Mary Margaret whispered. "You'd have a mother and a start on making a family Henry could be a part of. Or you could have her be the Dark One." She then outstretched the box to her. "The choice is yours."
