Regina was in the underground rooms in her vault, going through all her mother's stuff. She hoped to find a spell that would give her her son and vengeance. But she didn't know where it was. Finally, after a few minutes of rummaging, she sighed. "Where is it?" She whimpered.
She then picked up a locket and opened it, revealing a picture of herself and her mother, and she let out a slight sniffle. She then turned around, went over to the clothes, and ripped them in anger. She looked down at them again and saw something. A rolled-up piece of paper. She picked it up and unfurled it. It was what she was after.
"Thank you, Mummy."
Hours after Regina had been in her vault, however, it was now David's turn. He wasn't alone, though. He had brought the Doctor with him. David had wanted Mr Gold to go with him, but the Doctor wanted him (and the Professor) to stay back at the loft. To protect it. And Clara.
They came into the vault to find Regina's mess that she had made earlier. "It seems like we have just missed Regina," the Doctor noted as he kicked some clothes with his shoes.
"What is this?" David asked, and the Doctor walked past him.
"I believe these are Cora's," the Doctor said as David opened a chest. "What Regina must be searching for is something of her mother's. But what?" He moved past a hole in the wall with an open box full of potions and spell ingredients. "It appears something is missing."
David turned around and looked at the Doctor. "How do you know?
"Well, wouldn't she keep her vials locked up? Whatever she grabbed, I believe she must have been in a hurry. Too much of a hurry to close this back. Let's take this back to Rumple."
"Chimaera's Blood and Viper's Eye," Mr Gold said to everyone back at the loft. Regina's ingredient chest was open in front of him as he had a look through it.
"And what kind of curse do you need that for?" David asked.
"The curse of the empty-hearted."
"What the Hell does that do?" Emma asked.
"In theory, it has the power to make someone love you," Mr Gold answered.
"Doesn't that break magic laws? You can't bring someone back to life. You can't force someone to love you."
"Yeah, but this particular spell can make someone think they love you. And if you're as desperate for love as Regina appears to be, you might believe it."
Henry, who had been upstairs with Belle, had overheard the conversation and went down the stairs, "She's going to use it on me. Isn't she?" He asked.
David sighed and went over to his grandson. "Hey, buddy. Why don't you go back upstairs with Belle? Let us handle this."
"No!" Henry pushed him away and went to his mother. "Emma, you said you were going to be honest with me. Now, why is Regina using this curse?"
"Because it's the only way she can get everything she wants, that she can get you," Mr Gold said. "But if all she wants is me..."
"Your mother is a complicated woman. She wants your love, of course. But she also wants vengeance on Mary Margaret."
"How does the curse give her both?" David asked.
"Because the last ingredient she needs to enact the curse is the heart of the person she hates the most."
"You have to stop her," Emma said.
"Oh, I don't have to do anything. Not in that department anyway. On the contrary, I believe that is where the Doctor comes in."
"What do you mean?" David asked.
"Well, someone has to stay here and keep a watch over Miss Oswald and Miss Blanchard. If Regina visits here, I believe I am the best person to face her."
"He does have a point," the Doctor said. "And I think I know how to deal with Regina. Trust me."
"Be careful," the Professor said. "Cora was dangerous because she was heartless. She ripped out her own heart. Regina is more dangerous because she has one. She's acting on love."
