Turner, Miss Swann, Narcissa, and Captain Barbossa all stood gathered around the charts. The ship was now dusted with frost and many crew members were shivering. Barbossa was not nearly as troubled given that simply being able to feel anything was a blessing. However, others were more bothered. Narcissa had her shoulders hunched and he saw Jack the monkey cuddled inside her jacket.

"These can't be as accurate as modern charts," commented Turner.

"No, but they lead more places," argued Narcissa who seemed to have a better grasp on what they were dealing with than the others.

"Over the edge over again sunrise sets flash of green," said Turner skeptically. "Care to elaborate Captain Barbossa." Hector detected a hint of distain in the boy's voice.

He knew Turner's frustration stemmed from his understandable personal grudge against Barbossa. He had ordered the boy's father sent to the bottom of the ocean. It was actually almost eerie how much the younger Turner reminded him of Bootstrap. He was also well aware that the lad only put up with him for the sake of Narcissa and the purpose of this voyage.

Though he was certain Narcissa was right about the welp having his own agenda. Bootstrap had always been cleverer than he appeared.

"Ever gaze on the green flash Mr. Gibbs?" he asked

"I reckon I seen my fair share. Happens on rare occasion. The last glimpse of sunset, a green flash shoots up into the sky. Some go their whole lives without ever seeing it. And some claim to have seen it who ain't. And some say..."

"It signals when a soul comes back to this world from the dead," exclaimed Ragetti much to Gibbs annoyance.

"I'm tell'in the story!"

"Sorry," muttered Ragetti. Narcissa patted him on the shoulder. It was clear she was becoming attached to the fool as well as Pintel, dimwitted as the pair were. Considering they were his most loyal crew members and he knew the two were too terrified to lay a hand on her, not to mention apparently having done the exact opposite during his brief stint in the land of the dead, she could have picked worse company in Barbossa's opinion.

"Trust me young Master Turner. It not getting to the land of the dead that's the problem. It's getting back."

"Bosun! Head to the wind and lift the sail!" he ordered they needed to pick up speed.

"Aye Aye sir!" called the Bosun. They were now coming up on a waterfall.

"Father ahead!" exclaimed Narcissa.

"Aye, We're good and lost now," he told the group with a smirk.

"Lost!" said Miss Swann in alarm.

"For certain. Ye have to be lost to find a place as can't be found. Elseways everyone would know where it was." As the crew seemed to try and work out what he'd meant the ship continued to gain speed.

"All hands to stations! Rudder full! Hard to port! Gather way!" ordered Turner to Captain Barbossa's chagrin.

"Nay belay that! Run her straight and true!"

"You've doomed us all," said Miss Swann storming up to him. Barbossa scoffed.

"Don't be so unkind. Ye may not survive to pass this way again, and these be the last friendly word's you'll hear."

"Friendly?" said Narcissa in disbelief. He glanced at his daughter who looked at him as if he'd gone mad. Fear evident on her face.

"Trust me," he said quietly. Narcissa gave him a long hard look before nodding. Turning to the crew she yelled,

"Listen to the Captain! Let her run straight!" The crew obeyed.

"Cissy you're seriously listening to him?" said Miss Swann. Barbossa made brief eye contact with his daughter.

"Yes, I am," said Narcissa. They held course continuing to speed to the edge. As they went over Barbossa felt his daughter grab his arm. The last thing he heard was Cotton's parrot eerily crying

"Dead men tell no tales!"

PotC

Narcissa's head burst from the water. Blinking she saw the rest of the crew doing likewise. In the distance was an unfamiliar shore. She struck out for it eventually reaching the sandy beach which seemed more like a desert.

Sand stretched for miles ahead. They were in the locker for sure. She glanced back and saw all that was left of the ship was some floating timber. That WAS going to be a bit of a problem

"We actually made it," said Will.

"You don't say?" quipped Narcissa though she admittedly felt relieved. For a moment as they went over the edge she had wondered if her father's plan would work.

"I don't see Jack, or anyone for that matter," she said to her father as she looked around.

"He's here. Davy Jones never once gave up what he took," her father assured her.

"Good because we can't afford to have this be for nothing," said Will.

"Witty Jack is closer than you think," said Tia Dalma. Narcissa turned to ask the woman what she meant when she was distracted by Ragetti who pointed into the distance and simply said.

"Boat." Narcissa looked and saw perhaps the most ridiculous sight she could have imagined.

The Pearl was being carried over the sand dunes by a hoard of crabs.

"Impossible," said Elizabeth.

"Slap me thrice and hand me to me mama! It's Jack!" cried Gibbs. Sure, enough standing on the rigging was Captain Jack Sparrow.

The crabs carried the Pearl to the edge of the beach. Jack jumped down and was immediately met by a large portion of the crew. Narcissa, her father, Elizabeth, Will, and the Chinese crew stayed back.

Jack stalked up to them.

"Mr. Gibbs," he began.

"Aye Cap'n!"

"I thought so. I expect you're able to account for your actions then." Confusion filled Gibb's face.

"Sir?"

"There's been a perpetual and virulent lack of discipline upon my vessel. Why?" Narcissa began to wonder whether Jack's sanity might have deteriorated while here. Or at least what had been left to begin with.

"You're in Davy Jones' Locker cap'n," said Gibbs. Jack huffed.

"I know where I am! And don't think I don't!"

"Jack Sparrow," said Narcissa's father stepping forward. Jack whirled around and grinned.

"Ah Hector! It's been too long hasn't it."

"Aye Isla de Muerta, remember? Ye shot me," her father pulled his shirt to reveal the scar.

"No I didn't," said Jack

"Speaking as the distraught daughter who cried over his body I can assure you, you did," snapped Narcissa.

"Dear Narcissa. Come to join me in my purgatory?" he said flirtatiously.

"Not on your life. Or death for that matter," scoffed Narcissa. Jack moved on.

"Tia Dalma, you add an agreeable sense of macabre to any delirium." Then the reason for Jack's behavior suddenly clicked and Will voiced Narcissa's exact thought.

"He thinks we're a hallucination."

"I could hit him. Hallucinations can't do that," suggested Narcissa with mock cheerfulness.

"You always did like the violent option," muttered Will.

"Says the man that taught me to swordfight," she replied and Will sighed.

"Fair point."

"William, tell me something: Have you come because you need my help to save certain distressing damsels, or rather, damsels in distress? Either one?"

"Call me a damsel again and you'll be in distress," muttered Narcissa.

"No," said Will to Jack.

"Well, then you wouldn't be here would you? Q.E.D you're not really, here."

"Jack. This is real. We're here," said Elizabeth stepping forward. "We've come to rescue you."

"Have you now? That's very kind of you. But it would seem that as I possess a ship and you don't, you are the ones in need of rescuing and I'm not sure as I'm in the mood," said Jack stiffly.

"I see my ship right there," said Narcissa's father pointing to the Pearl.

"Can't spot it, must be a tiny thing hiding somewhere behind the Pearl," said Jack pretending to peer into the distance. Narcissa groaned. She now realized that they were going to need to contend with Jack and her father bickering over the Pearl.

"Jack, Cutler Beckett had the heart of Davy Jones," said Narcissa stepping slightly closer.

"He controls, the Flying Dutchman," added Will.

"He's taking over the sea," added Elizabeth.

"Which won't be good for anyone who considers themself a pirate," Narcissa added hoping to play on Jack's sense of self preservation.

"The song has been sung. The Brethren Court is called." Tia Dalma informed him. Jack scoffed.

"Leave you alone for a minute, look what happens. Everything's gone to pot!"

"Aye. The world needs you back something fierce," said Gibbs.

"And you need a crew," pointed out Will.

"Why should I sail with any of you. Four of you tried to kill me. One of you would have been happy to and one of you succeeded," Jack said. Everyone turned to look at Elizabeth.

Narcissa winced. That was one secret out.

"Oh, she's not told you. You'll have loads to talk about while you're here. As for you..." he turned to Tia Dalma who smirked.

"Now...don't tell me you didn't enjoy it at the time." Narcissa cringed. She REALLY did not need to hear about Jack's sex life any more than her father's. Jack shrugged.

"Fair enough. All right, you're in." He turned to Pintel.

"Don't need you," he moved on to Ragetti, "You scare me." Jack continued down the line.

"Gibbs you can come. Marty. Cotton. Cotton's parrot I'm a little iffy but at least I'll have someone to talk to."

Narcissa felt a little irritated that Jack intended to leave half of the people who came to rescue him behind although she knew there was no way that would actually happen if she and her father had anything to say about it.

"Who are you?" Jack asked the leader of the Chinese crew.

"Tai Haung. These are my men."

"Where do your allegiance's lie?" asked Jack.

"With the highest bidder," answered Tai Haung.

"So much for loyalty," muttered Narcissa although she knew most pirates were opportunists.

"I have a ship," said Jack pointing to the Pearl.

"That makes you the highest bidder," said Tai Haung with a smirk.

"Good man, weigh anchor, all hands. Prepare to make sail." Jack pulled out his compass and Narcissa saw to her surprise but also pleasure it was refusing to point in any direction. Simply spinning repeatedly.

"Which way are you going Jack?" asked her father with a smirk which matched Narcissa's. Ragetti and Pintel stood behind them looking just as pleased at Sparrow's conundrum while Elizabeth and Will appeared a bit relieved.

Narcissa walked past Jack towards the ship still grinning like a Cheshire cat. As she did so she patted the pirate on the shoulder.

"Nice try mate," she told him sarcasm dripping from every syllable. Jack merely gave a huff of annoyed resignation.
