They sailed to Shipwreck Cove like the devil were on their tale which truthfully it was. Once she was certain they were on course and the Dutchman wasn't going to overtake them she headed over to the prow to speak to Elizabeth.

"How are you doing?" she asked.

"I just feel terrible for James. He probably died saving us."

"It does redeem him somewhat," said Narcissa.

"You realize you are a bit hypocritical. You condemn James and even Will but are fine with your father's actions," Elizabeth's tone was matter-of-fact rather than accusatory.

"That is fair enough, perhaps it is simply the fact that the consequences of James and Will's actions are far more far reaching and personal than my father's which were entirely in keeping with his position as a pirate. I don't agree with his decision to kill Bootstrap but it was Bootstrap's choice to join the Dutchman. The world isn't black and white Lizzie," she said.

"I'm beginning to see that more and more. Our only route to survival is piracy of all things."

"To be fair for all that people have been telling me to look out for you, you've been doing a pretty good job of looking out for yourself and it hasn't been very long. Only a few years ago you didn't even know how to wield a sword," Narcissa pointed out.

"It's certainly strange how quickly things and people change," agreed Elizabeth. Narcissa sighed.

"You are right in that James died a good man. I'm not sure how we would have gotten out without him. But we can mourn the dead later. Right now, we have bigger things to focus on like defeating that bastard Beckett." Elizabeth nodded.

"You're right. I don't suppose there are any dry clothes below are there?"

"We can certainly check," said Narcissa glancing down at her current outfit which was soaked to the skin.

Luckily there were some spare clothes below and the women changed out of their wet clothes and into more Chinese pirate garb. Over her black pants and knee high boots, Narcissa had on a long black coat that reached her knees and split in the front for ease of movement while the top buttoned up with similar fastenings on the sleeves. The coat itself had designs of green dragons sewn into the material and around her waist was a leather belt with two leather panels attached near the front.

Elizabeth's outfit was similar although with gold decorations. They returned above now prepared to meet whatever the Brethren Court had coming.

They arrived about a day later at ship wreck cove. There were already many ships in the harbor each carrying a different flag. Small boats also littered the docks. It appeared that this was more than a meeting place. It was a haven and a fortress set into the rock.

"Nervous?" asked Elizabeth.

"What gave it away?" asked Narcissa as they walked down the gangplank.

"You're my sister. I know you better than I know myself. You'll do fine," Elizabeth assured her grasping her sister's hand.

"I hope so," Narcissa answered. They walked through the streets that made up shipwreck cove. Crowded as it was people parted before her and after a brief pause to get directions they made their way up and deep into the fortress. Outside of a large door stood two pirate sentries.

"Captain Davis pirate lord of the South China Sea," she said sharply. The two glanced at each other but at her glare parted. Inside she saw a large table with 7 different groups of pirates surround it.

There was a flamboyant looking pirate with a wig like Weatherby's who from the fleur de lis on his jacket she guessed was French. There were two groups of eastern looking pirates with turbans. A group of dark skinned perhaps African pirates was in one of the corners. Next to them was a shorter white-haired man with a large hat that reminded her a bit of gibs. The ones that drew her eye most though were some Chinese ones surrounding an Asian woman with her face painted white. She was on the older side and Narcissa guessed that she was Mistress Ching one of the most dangerous female pirates.

At the head of the table was her father and to the side a little Jack surrounded by the loyal crew of the Pearl. She heard Jack say.

"Might I point out that we are still short one pirate lord, and I'm as content as a cucumber to wait until Sao Feng joins us." Deciding now was the time to make her entrance Narcissa strode forward. Sticking her sword into the globe that held the other eight.

"Sao Feng is dead," she said. Everyone turned to face her and she saw relief on her father's face.

"Narcissa."

"I told you to trust me," she said offering him a brief smile.

"Good to have ye back lass," he said. Narcissa nodded and turned back to the Court.

"Before he died Sao Feng made me captain."

"He made YOU captain? They're just giv'in the bloody title away now," grumbled Jack.

"Which means that all nine pirate lords are now present," she said giving Sparrow a pointed look.

"How did he die?" asked Mistress Ching.

"He fell to the Flying Dutchman," Narcissa answered. Several of the pirates swore and the French pirate said.

"The plagued ship."

"Listen. Listen to me," said Narcissa with as much confidence as she could muster. "Our location has been betrayed."

"She's right Jones is under the command of Lord Beckett. They're on their way here. We've seen it," added Elizabeth.

"Who is this betrayer?" demanded one of the lords.

"Not likely anyone among us." said Narcissa's father.

"Where's Will?" asked Elizabeth looking around.

"Not among us." answered Sparrow.

"He's done it again," muttered Narcissa angrily.

"It matters not how they found us. The question is, what will we do now that they have?" said her father over the noise.

"We fight," said Narcissa. Most of the pirates laughed at her words and Mistress Ching stood up.

"Shipwreck Cove is a fortress. A well-supplied fortress. There is no need to fight if they cannot get to us."

"Supplies don't last forever," Narcissa pointed out. Narcissa's father stepped forward.

"There be a third course. In another age, at this very spot, the First Brethren Court captured the sea goddess and bound her in her bones. That was a mistake. Oh, we tamed the seas for ourselves, aye. But opened the door to Beckett and his ilk. Better were the days when mastery of seas came not from bargains struck with eldritch creatures, but from the sweat of a man's brow and the strength of his back alone. You all know this to be true. Gentlemen. Ladies. We must free Calypso."

Her father's speech sent up another wave of clamoring.

"Shoot him." yelled one pirate.

"Cut out his tongue!" called another.

"Shoot him, cut out his tongue, then shoot his tongue. And trim that beard." said Jack and Narcissa glared at him.

"Sao Feng would've agreed with Barbossa," said the first mate of Sao Feng's ship.

"Calypso was our enemy then, she will be our enemy now." said the dark-skinned pirate lord.

"It's unlikely her mood's improved," added the French pirate.

"I would still agree with Sao Feng," said the short Gibbs look alike placing his gun on the table "We release Calypso."

"You threaten me?" said the French pirate.

"I silence you." answered the other pirate and made to fire his gun only for the french pirate to punch him. This sent everyone into an all out brawl as the supporters of all sides began to join in.

"This is madness." said Elizabeth. Jack shrugged.

"This is politics." Narcissa snorted in amusement.

"Meanwhile, our enemies are bearing down upon us," groaned Elizabeth.

"If they not be here already," said Barbossa.

"Aren't you a barrel of sunshine," muttered Narcissa although the father and daughter shared a look of worry. Finally, her father jumped up on the table and banged the cannon balls down while shooting a pistol in the air finally shutting up the crowd. Her father stepped back down and began speaking again.

"It was the First Court what imprisoned Calypso. We should be the ones to set her free. And in her gratitude, she will see fit to grant us boons." Jack scoffed at these words.

"Whose boons? Your boons? Utterly deceptive twaddle-speak, says I."

"If you have a better alternative, please, share," replied Narcissa's father. Narcissa's eyes narrowed wondering what Jack was up to.

"Cuttlefish. Aye. Let us not, dear friends, forget our dear friends, the cuttlefish. Flipping glorious little sausages." Narcissa and her father shared an eye roll at the rambling although they still paid close attention.

"Pen them up together, they'll devour each other without a second thought. Human nature, isn't it? Or... Or fish nature. So, yes, we could hole up here well-provisioned and well-armed. Half of us would be dead within the month." Narcissa had to agree on that point although even a month seemed optimistic. Pirates were not great at being cooped up together. At that wasn't even figuring in the fact that ignoring the problem also wouldn't make it go away.

"Which seems quite grim to me, any way you slice it. Or... Uh...As my learned colleague so naively suggests, we can release Calypso, and we can pray that she will be merciful. I rather doubt it. Can we pretend she's anything other than a woman scorned like which fury hell hath no? We cannot. Res ipsa loquitur, tabula in naufragio. We are left with but one option. I agree with, and I cannot believe the words are coming out of me mouth..." he held out his hand towards Narcissa and the words that followed seemed to cause him immense pain.

"Captain Barbossa. The younger."

"It's Davis but thank ye Jack," said Narcissa. Jack gave an exaggerated shudder and said,

"We must fight." Narcissa's father scoffed.

"You've always run away from a fight."

"Have not."

"Have so."

"Have not."

"Have so."

"Have not!" Narcissa clapped a hand to her face at their bickering.

"You have so, and you know it." snapped Narcissa's father.

"Have not. Slander and calumny. I have only ever embraced that oldest and noblest of pirate traditions. I submit that here now that is what we all must do: We must fight...to run away.

"Aye!" said Gibbs

"Aye!" cried the rest of the pirates," Narcissa's father was not beaten yet though and he said,

"As per the code, an act of war, and this be exactly that, can only be declared by the pirate king."

"You made that up," scoffed Jack. Narcissa's father raised an eyebrow.

"Did I, now? I call on Cap'n Teague, keeper of the code." The pirate standing next to the short pirate wearing a turban who had not spoken this entire time said,

"Sri Sumbhajee proclaims this all to be folly!"

"Hang the code. Who cares a...?" began one of his men only for a gunshot to ring out as the man fell dead. They all turned to see a tall man, who looked remarkably like Jack, with dreadlocks and a red coat holding the smoking gun.

"Code is the law," he said coming forward with a large tome.

"You're in my way, boy," he told a very nervous looking Jack who swiftly moved to the side.

"The code," murmured Elizabeth who glanced at Narcissa who knew they were both remembering the secret hours they had spent memorizing said code from forbidden books on piracy.

"The code," Narcissa's father, "As set forth by Morgan and Bartholomew." Teague whistled and to the surprise of Narcissa and all those that had ever been held in the Port Royal jail a shaggy dog came forward with a key ring in it's mouth.

"That can't... How did..." stuttered Ragetti

"Sea turtles, mate," answered Teague taking the key and unlocking the book he ran his many ringed finger, down the page finally stopping halfway down.

"Ah. Barbossa is right," said Teague. Narcissa smirked and her father gave a wave of his hand almost like a bow.

"Hang on a minute." said Jack stepping towards the book and scanning the page.

"It shall be the duties, as the king, to declare war, parley with shared adversaries...Fancy that."

"There has not been a king since the First Court. And that's not likely to change," said the French pirate.

"Not likely," agreed Gibbs.

"Why not?" asked Elizabeth before Narcissa could voice the question herself.

"See, the pirate king is elected by popular vote. And each pirate only ever votes for himself," explained Gibbs.

"I call for a vote," said Narcissa. She had to try. Her father raised an eyebrow at her seemingly impressed. When nobody replied Narcissa added.

"Or are you not going to stick to the code." There was silence and then one of the eastern pirates stood.

"I vote for Armand the corsair."

"Capitaine Chevalle, the penniless Frenchman."

"Sri Sumbhajee votes for Sri Sumbhajee," said the man next to Sri Sumbhajee.

"Mistress Ching."

"Gentleman Jocard," said the African pirate.

"Narcissa Davis."

"Barbossa," said her father with a roll of his eyes.

"Vallenueva!" cried the man who had agreed with her earlier.

"Narcissa Davis," said Jack. Silence fell and Narcissa's eyes went wide.

"What?"

"I know. Curious, isn't it?" smirked Jack. Noise erupted as the pirates began arguing again.

"Am I to understand you lot won't be keeping to the code?" called Jack. There was a twang as one of the strings on Teague's guitar broke. All fell silent. Finally, Mistress Ching stood.

"Very well. What say you, Captain Davis, king of the Brethren Court?" Narcissa held her head high as she spoke.

"Prepare every vessel that floats. At dawn...we're at war."

Author's note: So I decided to go with Davis which will be explained in the next chapter. As a side note I decided to make Narcissa both the Captain and the King because I felt it made more sense for Sao Feng to give the piece of eight to an actual pirate rather than Calypso so that there would still be a pirate lord after. Please continue to leave your thoughts in the comments! We have about 3 more chapters which i hope to get up before June 3rd so keep checking back! Until next time!
