Later after Alexis hears the horn blow she soon finds the others at the overpass in wolf form with Craig holding the other side's flag.
"I can't believe it. We did it." Alexis says in disbelief.
"Yeah. I guess you did. Enjoy your victory. Least you got one regardless." A voice says revealing to be Xavier before he walks off.
"What the...?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Hmm. It seems my personal assumptions were correct. That boy must like you." A voice says revealing to be Josh.
"Huh? What do you mean? Oh worry about that later. We did it!" Alexis shouts happily as she runs over and nuzzles Josh's hand.
"Yes. We have done it. Our creek is safe now." Josh says.
"Which means that we get to bring all our bottles back to the hideout." Alexis says as she and Josh give unamused looks.
"Yes. That won't be so fun." Josh says.
"But seriously though. What are you talking about with Xavier? He's only interested cause I'm pretty." Alexis says.
"I think there's more to it. But you do what you wish." Josh says as Alexis looks at him.
"Listen everybody! The creek is special. It's a place where kids can play how they want. We don't need a king to tell us how to do that because the creek belongs to all of us." Craig says as he tears the flag in two much to the other kids joy.
*Timeskip*
"Ah! Feels good to be back in the old stumpy." J.P. says as the group is in the stump with Omar.
"Even more good knowing we'll be able to play together how we want." Alexis says.
"Yeah and to make new friends while doing it." Omar says as he smiles.
"So we've triumphantly vanquished tyranny from the creek! What now?" Kelsey asks.
"Well now that the king's gone there's a whole other side of the creek to explore." Craig says as he opens his map on the floor.
*Timeskip 2 Months*
"Mmm. I can't wait to get to that new ice cream shop. I been dying to try it all week." Alexis says happily as she is walking down the sidewalk.
"Brat!" A voice shouts.
"This will teach you to talk big!" A voice shouts angrily.
"Huh?" Alexis asks as she follows the sound before hiding in some bushes as she sees a kid on the ground revealing to be Xavier surrounded by three teenagers.
"Leave me alone! My parents won't be happy about this!" Xavier shouts as he is on the ground.
"Like we're scared you big baby." A teenager shouts as he kicks at Xavier.
"Uh-oh. I better do something." Alexis says as she hides in the bushes before shifting to wolf form and going over to in front of Xavier growling.
"Who's dog is this? Get out of our way you mutt." A teenager says before Alexis growls and bites the pants leg of one of the teenagers.
"Ah! Get it off!" A teenager shouts as Alexis let's go of his pants leg while growling.
"Yeah you better run!" Xavier shouts happily as the teenagers run off.
"Yuck. Tell those kids haven't washed their clothes for a few days. You okay?" Alexis asks as she spats.
"Yeah. You saved me? Why?" Xavier asks curiously.
"You might be a jerk but you don't deserve to be beat up." Alexis says as she shifts to human form.
"No one's ever done that for me before. At least not without candy. I don't have any I could give you for that." Xavier says.
"Keep your candy Xavier. I'm not interested. I just didn't wanna see you hurt." Alexis says.
"But why? I thought you hated me." Xavier says.
"I never said that." Alexis says.
"Wait. Do you like me?" Xavier asks.
"Don't press your luck kid." Alexis says.
"You do!" Xavier says happily.
"Enough. I don't." Alexis says annoyedly.
"Admit it. You do." Xavier says as he smiles.
"Fine. Maybe I do a little. But you're still a jerk. I could never be with someone who treats others the way you do." Alexis says annoyedly.
"Well what am I supposed to do? Nobody ever really wants to be my friend. They only want me for my candy." Xavier says.
"Not everyone is that way. You never give people a chance and let things happen as they may. You always want things your way. That's not how friendship works. Or any relationship for that matter." Alexis says.
"Why are you telling me this?" Xavier asks curiously.
"Because I used to think similarly. That no one would be my friend if they knew my secret unless I lied about myself. But I was wrong. I know what I'm talking about when I say you need to give people and life a chance. You'll have real friends if you do." Alexis says.
"But no one would ever give me a chance. Not after how I acted." Xavier says.
"Maybe that's because you need to let them give you a chance and you earn their trust the right way." Alexis says.
"How?" Xavier asks.
"By acting like a real friend. Give them a chance and they'll do the same." Alexis says.
"But what kid would give me a chance? Even if I give them a chance I doubt they'll give me a chance." Xavier says as he looks down.
"They will if I do." Alexis says.
"Huh?" Xavier asks.
"Look you might be a jerk but I can see you're being sincere. Plus I'm bit afraid to turn teeth on you if you aren't telling the truth. But I'm willing to give you a chance on the condition you actually act like you want it and got some sense. No candy. No being King. Just be yourself." Alexis says.
"You'd do that for me?" Xavier asks in surprise.
"Until you give me a reason not to. Besides you called me pretty. I guess I can be a little flexible for a guy who thinks I'm pretty." Alexis says as she smiles slightly.
"You do like me! I knew it." Xavier says happily.
"Don't get ahead of yourself. Let's just call things a trail run for now." Alexis says.
"Fine." Xavier says.
"Hey I'm actually going to get some ice cream from this new place. It's not far from here. They got really big portions for a decent price. I got enough for one. We could split it." Alexis says kindly.
"Really?" Xavier asks.
"Yeah. If you want to." Alexis says kindly.
"So a date then?" Xavier asks.
"Didn't say date." Alexis says.
"Didn't say it wasn't either." Xavier says happily.
"You wanna come or no?" Alexis asks.
"Yeah. So what flavor do you usually get? I love French vanilla." Xavier says as he smiles.
"No kidding? That's my favorite." Alexis says as she begins walking with Xavier while smiling.
