I'm sorry for going on hiatus for so long. Its been a rough year. I wrote this short chapter to get things back on track. Hopefully, my few readers enjoy it.
"And the best part was, you don't have to make eye contact with the people serving your food!"
Maddie wasn't paying attention while London droned on and on about the palace of some general turned president for life. Scamp and Ivana were off in the bathroom, probably dry humping. Maddie was too mentally preoccupied with how she was going to break the news to London.
"Hello! Earth to Maddie!"
"Whuh?" A confused Maddie sputtered.
"Are you even paying attention? I haven't gotten to the prince's elephant yet!"
"I'm sorry, London. I just got…..a lot on my mind."
London looked momentarily offended and like she was about to respond before flashing a devilish grin.
"I think I know what's on your mind." She said with an overstated wink. She then put her hand on her girlfriend's leg. Maddie began to blush furiously. She knew she had to act fast in order to prevent future awkwardness.
"Todd's back!" She blurted out just as London began reaching her hand up her skirt.
London abruptly leaped up. "Todd's back?"
"That's what I said isn't it?" Maddie begrudgingly answered.
"I thought he was at dental school in zor-ick…zer-ick…zar- whatever it's called!"
"He decided that he wants you to move in with him at Zürich."
London let out a squee. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "I knew it! I knew he we'd be together forever someday. After all this time waiting, I can finally be with the one I…" London suddenly noticed Maddie's distraught expression. "...love" she finished awkwardly. The two sat there in uncomfortable silence for what seemed like hours. "Maddie, I…"
"It's okay, London. I'm happy for you." She forced a smile. "Mark sure you send me some Swiss chocolate." Before London could respond, the two dogs came running out from the bathroom. It seemed the doggy date was over.
