Some townfolks were surprised that Pepa never became a spoiled and entitled princess. Instead, she grew into a very loving and caring young woman who would do everything for the town and her family. Still, they couldn't help but wonder why this beautiful Madrigal fell head over heels for Félix, a man known for his excellent singing voice but also his tendency for good food. Alma knew exactly why her daughter chose him to be the newest addition to the family. He balanced her out when nobody else could, and he was the one that made her laugh when she felt stressed out. Pepa's emotions were like air filling up a balloon: Félix knew precisely how to slowly let the air out, allowing her to let go of all of her anger.

Well, while Félix patiently untied the knot that kept the air in the balloon, Bruno simply took the needle. Throughout the last few years, Almas's youngest child somehow managed to master the skill to "apologize without apologizing ". However, Bruno only used it when his sister needed a long-overdue reality check. The mother first tried to reprimand her only son for intentionally driving his sister insane, but after a while, she observed that the two of them had some kind of a quiet agreement. Bruno never cared if Pepa sent some bolts of lightning after them or if they had to clean all the mess they had done in the house while she secretly protected him from angry townspeople. Alma knew that her son was essential for her daughter's well-being, and as long as they didn't start another weather catastrophe, she never got in between her arguing children. She only hoped that Bruno would hold his tongue on Pepa's wedding day for once.

Bruno could feel the sweat running down his face; he even considered taking off his ruana for the day. He huffed when he could hear some people chatting over the weather, assuming that Pepa must be in an excellent mood for her wedding. The Madrigal rolled his eyes; of course, they would think that. But he knew his sister way better than any of them; he knew that the heat came from Pepa trying too much to keep her emotions under control. On her wedding day. When everyone else could cry their hearts out, the most emotional person in the Encanto, who also happened to be the bride, had to keep herself together. Yeah, not happening, at least if he could prevent it. Why did she force herself to have a perfect outside-ceremony anyway? As quietly as he could, Bruno sneaked to the room where he knew that his future brother-in-law was getting ready. He could hear him chatting and laughing with Augustin, and before he could even knock on the door, the two of him pulled him in.

"Bruno! It's good to see you! "The Madrigal smirked at Julieta's husband. "Good to see you "wasn't a phrase people usually say to him.

"And you are just in time. "Félix added. "We just wanted to start this bottle of Aguardiente. "Before he could say something, Augustin pressed a shot glass in Bruno's hand.

"Oh no, you know what's happening when I drink. "He tried to fend off Félix, but before he could say anything more, his glass was already filled up with cane liquor.

"Oh, come on, I saw you drinking at his wedding last month! "Bruno crunched when the memories of Julieta's wedding day came back to his mind. Yes, he DID drink some liquor that day, but he also had a terrible series of uncontrolled visions that night. His mother found him passed out outside of the Casita, he never asked her, but he would bet that she assumed he got drunk at his sister's wedding.

"Actually, I only want to ask you if you have any ideas how I can… "Before he could say anything more, the other two-man already started drinking. Bruno swallowed the burning liquor, assuming that one drink wouldn't do any harm. The liquid was still burning down his throat when Augustin refilled his glass. He was very aware that he shouldn't drink any more alcohol; still, he emptied the glass at a draught. If drinking would mean that he would get any good advice to help his sister, Bruno would gladly accept all the visions that would haunt him that night.

It took the Madrigal three more drinks to realize that Félix wasn't a help today. Then, he left the two other men alone without saying a word. They were too busy discussing the ups and downs of being married to a Madrigal to notice that the bride's brother was gone. Bruno sighed. Thankfully, he couldn't feel the effects of the alcohol yet; still, he knew that they could kick in any minute. He only hoped that he had a chance to talk to his sister before.

"What are you doing here? "Julieta starred at her brother, guarding the door behind which her sister was getting ready.

"It's getting hot in here, don't you think? "

His older sister frowned. "Pepa is trying too much. "Julieta admitted while she looked out of the window beside her in worry.

Bruno nodded. "I know. Don't you think we should do something? "

Julieta glanced at her brother; she could literally see the plan forming in his head. "Don't even think about it! She wants this day to be perfect. Pepa will kill you, mamá will kill you, even I will kill you if you do one of your stupid stunts! "

"Julieta, she can't even enjoy her own wedding day! "He declared. "Also, why are you girls so obsessed with a "perfect "wedding? It's nothing more but another exaggerated party. "

She grinned at her brother while she patted his arm. "Oh Bruno, I will be SO happy to remind you of your words the day you are getting married. "

Bruno grimaced. "Yeah, we both know that's not going to happen. "Slowly, he could feel the alcohol creep into his head. He had to hurry before it all would start to go down. Resolutely, he pushed his protesting sister aside. He could apologize later. First, he had to save Pepas's nerves by breaking them.

"It will be a perfect day, won't it, Julieta? "Pepa looked at herself in the mirror, not noticing that it wasn't her sister but her brother coming in.

"Oh, it will be. "Bruno couldn't completely hide his grin. His plan was perfect, and he was confident that if there was something like a brother of the year award, it was going to him. But, like all drunk people, the Madrigal didn't notice that the alcohol was already controlling his mind and words.

"What are you doing here, Bruno? "Pepa gave her brother a huge grin, but even in his current state of mind, he could tell it was fake from a mile away. Nevertheless, Bruno was determined to end her suffering as soon as possible.

"Don't worry, everything is fine. "He said, noticing that his sister relaxed by a bit. "I just saw a little raincloud coming from the northwest, but it's nothing you have to worry about. "Pepa starred at her brother, who couldn't help but give her a self-satisfied grin. His plan was perfect!

However, his plan didn't involve Pepa manically pacing through the room, a giant cloud forming over her head. "It must be a big raincloud I can't control if you are telling me this; how can I control ANYTHING today? Why is there a cloud over my head, and what if Félix…. "

"Pepa, it's time! "Alma and Julieta stormed in, first starring at the big cloud filling the room, then starring at Bruno, who tried to secretly sneak out. The what-have-you-done-look of his mother and sister instantly sobered him up; at least he wasn't drunk enough to NOT notice that he messed up big times.

"Julieta, get your sister out of here. I don't care if there is a hurricane; Pepa is getting married today! "Alma commanded, then she turned around to Bruno. "I will deal with you later! "

Somehow, the Madrigal women managed to lead Pepa out of the room, but before they could get out of the line of sight, the bride stopped. "I will kill you, Bruno Madrigal. "She said disturbingly calm. "Yeah, I will slowly rip off your head, but before that, I will cut off your hands and strangle you with your own guts, you little piece of… "He didn't understand the rest of it as the other two forcefully pulled the screaming bride to the church, but whatever she said: Bruno was confident that she meant it and that their mother and sister would gladly assist to murder him in the most gruesome way.

Bruno couldn't understand a word the priest was saying; if it was because of the hurricane around him or the lack of concentration, he couldn't tell. It was too late to bring all the people inside, so everyone attending the wedding had to stand outside. The hood of his ruana fell deep into his face, not only protecting him from the rain but also from the death stares of his mother and Julieta behind him. Would anyone feed his rats when he was dead? Julieta might have enough mercy to feed them his dead body. Or at least with the parts that were left.

Suddenly, everyone around him started clapping. Bruno sighed in relief; the torture came to an end. He could see Félix whispering some words into his newlywed wife, and slowly the hurricane turned into a storm, to a strong wind, and then to a soft drizzle. It took Pepa another hour to relax enough to end the rain, but there was no cloud left in the sky when it was time for the meal. Sometimes, a small raincloud appeared over the bride's head, mostly because she got emotional when her friends and family congratulated her. Félix never left her side; he always made sure to bring her down with a joke when she started worrying. Bruno smirked. It was all he ever wanted for his sister, but still, it was his brother-in-law who could finish his mission with ease.

The following day, Bruno had the headaches of a lifetime. He didn't know if his head felt a stone because of a hangover, the nightmare of uncontrolled visions or because Julieta and his mother took turns in screaming at him and giving him neck clamps. Bruno didn't need to see into the future to know that Pepa would never let go of it, and he knew he deserved every angry comment she made in the following years. Still, he couldn't help but feel that it was all worth it. Félix was the right man for Pepa, and if it needs a hurricane to convince everyone who might doubt the marriage so that it would be.
