I opened my eyes and I was floating by a river. Next to me was a man with dark brown hair, a leather jacket, and jeans.

"Well kid, you've caused me a dilemma," the man said.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I've been called many names, you can just call me Ghost Rider for now. So, I'm supposed to take your soul, but you technically are supposed to have a second chance at life so I'm giving you a month to find your body or I have to take your soul," the man sighed. "Try not to take too long," he added, vanishing in a burst of fire.

"I need to find my body?" I asked myself.

I then floated and went looking for my body. I found where I hung myself but saw the rope was cut down. I then went around looking for my body down the hill but I couldn't find it. I would occasionally see a couple of girls walking but for three weeks I couldn't find my body. I tried asking the deer to help me look but they just ignored me. I then tried to follow where I could have fallen but found nothing. Then, he showed up again.

"Hey kid, no luck yet?" Ghost Rider asked.

"No, guessing you're here to take me?" I asked.

"No quite, you mom was caught in a villain attack and was killed. She asked to see you so I explained that she couldn't and that you have a second chance," he said. "She told me to tell you that she wants you to take this chance and become a hero. I shouldn't be here at all but I took a detour because of traffic reasons," he added, winking at me.

"Thanks," I said. "Well, I got a body to find," I said, turning and zooming off. Mom's dead, and she wants me to be a hero. I'll do it, for her. I looked and after a day I decided to ask for help. I found a girl slightly younger than me wearing a red cape and I floated to her. "Um, can you help me find my body?" I asked.

"Um, are you a ghost?" she asked.

"Kinda, it's tied to my quirk," I explained. "I need to find my body in a few days or I will go to the afterlife."

"Oh, well take me to the last place you saw it," she said. I led her to the tree and she looked around for a bit before snapping her fingers. "There was a storm about a month ago, could it have fallen then?"

"Wait, if there was a storm then it would be down stream in the river," I said.

"Let's go," she said, going down the hill.

I followed her and we followed the current till she stopped and pointed at something in the river.

"Is that hair?" she asked.

"I think, woah," I said, as my form was pulled into the water and then my body. I stood up and was lighter than normal. I looked down and realized that I was just a skeleton with hair and pants.

"Um, are you good?" the girl asked.

"Yeah, let me introduce myself. I'm Izuku Midoriya," I said, holding my skeletal hand out.

"Ruby Rose, you're a skeleton," she said.

"So it would seem," I said. "Well, thank you for helping me find my body. I won't blame you if you think I'm a freak."

"Hmm, not a freak, strange, yes, a freak, no. Come with me I can get you a shirt from my moms," Ruby said, leading me by my hand.

"Wait, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with people seeing me right now," I said, looking at my bare rib cage.

"Trust me, you can trust my moms to not judge, and what else will you do, stay out here doing nothing?" she asked. "I'm guessing you're the ghost they were looking for so they will help, they're both heroes too."

"Alright, but don't expect too much," I said. How can a person be so certain and not care about how I look? She led me to a two story cabin with a detached garage.

"Wait here," she said, going into the house.

I stood there waiting and I noticed a couple of curtains open and close quickly. Eventually Ruby came out with a woman with long black hair and a black shirt with jeans.

"Wow, you weren't kidding when you said he was a skeleton," the woman said. "I'm Raven, Ruby's mom. What's your name?"

"I-Izuku Midoriya," I said.

"Ruby go inside, I need to have a talk with Izuku here," she said looking at me.

"Um, alright," Ruby said, walking back in.

"So, Summer, my wife, and I have a file on a missing person who said they were going to hang themselves in these woods with your name and hair with an unknown quirk," Raven said. "Are you saying you're them?"

"Yes, my quirk actually activated itself. It gave me a second chance at life, but I had a month to find my body and if I didn't then I would've been taken," I said. "Ruby helped me find my body."

"So, you're that weird mist we would see then on the cams. How do you know about the month thing?"

"A man told me, he said his name was Ghost Rider. He told me about my mom dying yesterday in a villain attack too," I said.

"Well, since you are technically still alive?" she asked.

"I think the term would be undead."

"Well, you can claim anything from your house. Do you have anywhere to go?" Raven asked.

"No," I said.

"What's your plan for your second chance?"

"To do what my mom wanted me to do, be a hero."

"Well, I'll talk to Summer when she gets back, but until then you can hang out with Ruby," she said, walking back.

"Um, I-I'll stay out here."

"Alright, that's your choice," Raven said, walking back into the house.

"So, what do you want to talk about?" Ruby asked, bursting from the house.

"I'm curious as to why you aren't freaked out over the fact that I'm a walking skeleton," I said.

"Well, my ex had a quirk that made her have cat ears so I don't really mind people who look weird and if I'm being honest I've heard of and seen some weird quirks," she said.

"So, a boy coming back from the dead and being a skeleton isn't that weird then?" I asked.

"Have you seen what Gang Orca looks like? He makes you look like a minor monster in a dungeon," Ruby said. "So, what do you like to do?"

"Well, I play music. I know how to play the piano, violin, and electric guitar and I sing too," I said.

"Oh, can you sing something?" she asked.

"Alright, this is an old sea shanty," I said.

There once was a ship that put to sea

The name of the ship was the Billy of Tea

The winds blew up, her bow dipped down

Oh blow, my bully boys, blow (huh)

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go

She'd not been two weeks from shore

When down on her a right whale bore

The captain called all hands and swore

He'd take that whale in tow (huh)

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go

Da-da-da-da-da

Da-da-da-da-da-da-da

Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da

Before the boat had hit the water

The whale's tail came up and caught her

All hands to the side, harpooned and fought her

When she dived down low (huh)

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go

No line was cut, no whale was freed

The captain's mind was not of greed

And he belonged to the Whaleman's creed

She took that ship in tow (huh)

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go

Da-da-da-da-da

Da-da-da-da-da-da-da

Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da

For forty days or even more

The line went slack then tight once more

All boats were lost, there were only four

But still that whale did go (huh)

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go

As far as I've heard, the fight's still on

The line's not cut, and the whale's not gone

The Wellerman makes his regular call

To encourage the captain, crew and all (huh)

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go

Soon may the Wellerman come

To bring us sugar and tea and rum

One day, when the tonguing is done

We'll take our leave and go

"Wow, that was amazing. Also, how can you talk without lips or vocal chords?" Ruby asked.

"That, is a great question," I said.

"Hey kid, put this on," Raven said, throwing a black t-shirt at me. "It's weird seeing your rib cage," she explained.

"Thanks," I said, putting it on.

"Alright, your bones can change to show facial expressions, that's off putting," Raven said.

"Mom, don't be rude!" Ruby yelled.

"Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound rude but I just wasn't expecting that," she said.

"It's alright, I'm going to have to get used to the stares. I'm a literal skeleton," I said.

"Hey, the ground around you is frozen," Ruby pointed out.

"Huh? But it's spring," I said.

"Try singing another song, actually, can you sing a rock song?" Ruby asked.

"I'll try," I said.

The secret side of me, I never let you see

I keep it caged but I can't control it

So stay away from me, the beast is ugly

I feel the rage and I just can't hold it

It's scratching on the walls, in the closet, in the halls

It comes awake and I can't control it

Hiding under the bed, in my body, in my head

Why won't somebody come and save me from this, make it end?

I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin

I must confess that I feel like a monster

I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun

I must confess that I feel like a monster

I, I feel like a monster

I, I feel like a monster

My secret side I keep hid under lock and key

I keep it caged but I can't control it

'Cause if I let him out he'll tear me up, break me down

Why won't somebody come and save me from this, make it end?

I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin

I must confess that I feel like a monster

I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun

I must confess that I feel like a monster

I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin

I must confess that I feel like a monster

I, I feel like a monster

I, I feel like a monster

It's hiding in the dark, it's teeth are razor sharp

There's no escape for me, it wants my soul, it wants my heart

No one can hear me scream, maybe it's just a dream

Maybe it's inside of me, stop this monster

I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin

I must confess that I feel like a monster

I hate what I've become, the nightmare's just begun

I must confess that I feel like a monster

I feel it deep within, it's just beneath the skin

I must confess that I feel like a monster

I've gotta lose control, here's something radical

I must confess that I feel like a monster

I, I feel like a monster

I, I feel like a monster

I, I feel like a monster

I, I feel like a monster

"Woah, the air around you is heating up. Your head's on fire!" Ruby yelled.

"What?" I asked, freaking out.

"Wait, it's out now. That was odd, oh, what if you can imbue the area around you with either heat or cold depending on your soul? Like the first song was slower and happy while the second was fast and angry," Ruby said.

"That kinda made sense," I said. So if I'm happy I produce cold and if I'm angry I produce heat and my skull becomes flaming. I wonder, I thought. I then focused on heat and my head and opened my eyes to see the occasional flicker of flames in my vision. I then grabbed a stick and focused cold energy in there and I looked to see a mist of cold air around the stick.

"Woah, you figured how to do both at once?" Ruby asked.

"Kinda, takes a lot of thinking and concentration, definitely not a move for now," I said. But maybe later.

"Hey, mom's back," Ruby said, causing me to look up to see a car pulling up.

"Um," I said, fidgeting.

"So, you're the skeleton boy Raven told me about," a woman with short brown hair, a white cloak with a red interior, and a black and white outfit.

"Y-you're the h-hero R-Rose Thorn, you moved here from America eight years ago with Omen, wait Raven is Omen," I said, realizing who I was talking to.

"You can call me Summer," she said. "Raven talked to me on the way here, we can let you live with us and we will even help you train for the hero entrance exam. We will also be able to legally adopt you if you would so wish," she added.

"Then you can be my brother!" Ruby said.

"A-are you sure? I'm not normal," I said.

"And we aren't a normal family," Summer said. "You'll fit in perfectly. We won't make you decide now, but we will take custody of you legally," she added. "Here, I got you a hoodie, mask, and motorcycle goggles so we can go pick up anything you want from your house. I called the commission and police so we don't have to do any paperwork. You exist and only people you want to be informed will be. Now, toss them on and hop in," she said.

I tossed the hoodie on and figured out how to put the mask on without ears and then put the goggles around my head. I then got in and sat in the passenger seat. We drove in silence until we got to my old house. We got out and she led me up to the apartment. I went to my room and grabbed my sword, violin, and a couple of my hoodies. I then saw a leather jacket and model of a motorcycle my dad sent me a few years ago. I grabbed them and put them along with my laptop into a bag. I then walked out and got into the car.

"You use a sword?" Summer asked.

"A bit, I got the idea from a movie and then seeing Omen in action," I said.

"Well, why not have Raven teach you some more?" she asked.

"Will she?"

"Of course. She tried teaching Ruby but she said that she didn't want to fight with a sword and would just use her quirk," Summer said. "She's a bright one, two years ahead in school."

"Wait, she wants to be a hero too?" I asked.

"Yep, her eyes are set on UA," Summer laughed.

"Maybe we could be in the same class," I said.

"Well, let's get you trained up."

Over the next year I learned how to fight better with a sword with Raven training me and then Summer would help me with my quirk. After the first six months they adopted me with my name becoming Izuku Midoriya-Rose. I learned to cut when I wanted to and when not to cut.

"Izuku, we got to work on something," Summer said, coming into the room they gave me with Raven.

"W-what?"

"That, your confidence," Raven said. "Your confidence needs to change. If you become a hero you can't be meek as villains will take that and use it against you."

"We aren't saying to change who you are, but create a character for you to become. Take Rave for example. She acts like this hard ass when doing hero work, but she's actually really kind and helps with orphanages," Summer said.

"Hey, you don't have to tell him that," Raven said, causing Summer and I to laugh.

"But, what I'm saying is you can act like anyone. I know you like to wear a leather jacket and with that motorcycle model I would say you could act like a biker. We could even get you a motorcycle if you would like," Summer said.

"Qrow's getting rid of one of his old ones he doesn't ride anymore," Raven said. I had met her brother a few months ago when he asked for their help on a case as he was also a hero.

"Do you really think I can pull that off?"

"Why not? You can do anything, you've proven that much. If you wear a leather jacket with a low hanging t-shirt and black jeans with leather boots you will look the part," Raven said.

"Well, why not? Let's ride," I said.

"Ha, I like it," Summer said.

I started learning to ride a motorcycle from Qrow and he gave me his black Harley Davidson Softail Classic. After I got to where I could ride I went and got my license. The test was fairly simple but when I had to take the full face helmet off for my picture I could tell that the people were amazed at my condition. I got in and put it in my wallet. I then rode the bike back but saw a car I never saw before in the driveway. I parked my bike in the garage and walked in to see a tall, muscular, tan man with blonde hair and a goatee talking to Summer and Raven with a blonde girl around my age behind him and all four of them looked angry.

"She's my daughter damn it!" the man yelled.

"No, she isn't. You lost all rights to call her that when you decided to leave with Yang," Raven said.

"What's going on?" I asked, walking in.

"Who are you?" the girl asked.

"Izuku Midoriya-Rose, you are?"

"Izuku, meet Taiyang Xiao Long and his daughter Yang Xiao Long," Raven said.

"Don't you mean your daughter?" Yang growled.

"You haven't been my daughter since you left with Tai," Raven said.

"Why is your last name Rose?" Taiyang asked.

"Because, Summer and Raven adopted me," I said.

"You'll adopt a random kid but you won't even let your own daughter live with you?!" Tai yelled.

"Tai, get out of my house," Summer said.

"I'm not leaving without my daughter," he said.

"If you lay a hand on Ruby you will regret being born," I said.

"Kid, trust me when I say you can't do shit to me," Tai said.

"Are you sure?" I asked, removing my helmet causing the two to recoil.

"The fuck?!" Yang asked.

"If you lay a hand on my little sister, I will send your soul to hell myself," I said, causing my head to burst into flames and growling to make my voice lower. "Now get out and pray I never see you again." I watched as the two of them ran out and then a car started and drove away. "Sorry about that," I said, putting my head out. I felt something off about my shoulders and looked to see the studs there were pointed into spikes but were fading back. "That's new."

"While we should yell at you for threatening them, you did it with the right intentions so I'll let you off with this," Raven said, smacking the back of my head.

"Izuku, when you and Ruby get into UA I want you to take her with you on your bike alright?" Summer said.

"Alright, I was already planning on it. Now, I'm going to blow off some steam training," I said, going out and grabbing my practice sword on the way. I went to the tree I used as a training post and started slashing it and hitting it as hard as I could. I took out all my anger and heard a voice I recognized from behind me.

"Onii-chan?"

"Hey Roobs, what's up?" I asked.

"Why are you angry?" she asked.

"Nothing you need to worry about," I said, turning around.

"The exam is in a few months, do you think we're ready?" she asked.

"More than ready. We're going to give them a show like they've never seen. So you better do well in the recommendation exam," I said.

"Wait, you aren't taking it?" she asked.

"Nope, Summer and Raven are giving you both recommendations and I'm taking the normal exam. I wouldn't feel right if I accepted a recommendation, it wouldn't be like I earned it," I said.

"That sounds like something you would say," Ruby said.

Before I knew it two months were up and it was the day for Ruby to take her exam. I grabbed my helmet and tossed her the red one decorated with roses she got. We rode to UA and she got off and went in to take her exam. I stood out and waited for her. While I was waiting a man with long black hair wearing a long white scarf and a baggy black outfit walked up to me.

"Why are you just sitting here kid?" he asked.

"Waiting for my sister," I said.

"How about you take the helmet off?" he asked.

"Not in public, if you will go just into the woods I will but I won't show my face in public, not yet at least," I said.

"Alright, lead the way," he said, gesturing to the woods just next to the parking lot.

I walked over and once I was sure that no one walking by could see me I turned around and took my helmet off.

"I think you understand why I keep it on," I said.

"Yeah, your quirk did this?" he asked.

"No, after I died it took me a few months to find my body and my skin had decomposed at that point," I said.

"How old are you?"

"Fifteen, almost sixteen. I'm going to be taking the exam tomorrow here," I added.

"Why is your sister taking a recommended exam but you aren't?"

"I was adopted by her parents. They offered but it felt like I was cheating if I did," I admitted.

"Well, I look forward to seeing what you can do," he said, turning and leaving.

I tossed my helmet back on and went and stood next to my bike and waited for around an hour before Ruby came out.

"How'd you do?" I asked.

"I'm ninety nine point nine percent sure I got in," she said.

"Let's get going. Hop on," I said, tossing her her helmet.

We rode back and I went to bed early to make sure to be fully energized in the morning. When I woke up I decided to skip the full helmet and grabbed my turtle shell helmet, bike mask, and goggles and went to UA. Because I didn't have a school uniform to wear I tossed my black jeans and leather jacket with leather gloves so my whole body was covered. I took the written test and easily answered all the questions then I went to the room where we had to wait for the practical to be explained. Present Mic explained the test then a tall boy with blue hair spoke up.

"There are four villains on the form but you only told us about three. If this is an error on a paper by the prestigious UA school then it would be a dishonor, and you with the mask and goggles. If you don't have the respect to wear your school uniform then you should just leave," he said, looking at me.

"The fourth villain is more so an obstacle and is worth no points. Also he got permission as he was home schooled," Present Mic said.

"I see, pardon my interruption," he said.

"Well, that's all I have for you, good luck and Plus Ultra!" Present Mic said.

I made my way to my test site and looking around saw no one I recognized. I gripped my sword as the doors opened and burst through, slicing the first bot I saw in half. I then pointed my sword and sent a wave of ice at the three pointer I saw. I then jumped and started to slash at the rest I could see. As we were nearing the end of the test I heard a loud boom and saw a bunch of people running from a large robot. I looked and saw a girl with long green hair trapped. I felt a pull at the back of my skull and pulled on it as I ran forward. As I neared I heard the sound of my motorcycle and without thinking jumped up and landed on it. I looked down and watched as it took a more sinister form with a skull with flames in the eyes where the headlight would be(Hellcycle). The front wheel was flaming while the back had frost coming from it. Using my gut feeling I drove at the robot and held my sword in my left hand and I drove up the robot with my front wheel melting the metal, my sword separating and cooling it, and my back wheel fully freezing it. I rode up the front and down the back, defying gravity.

Aizawa POV-

"How the hell is that kid doing that?" Kan asked.

"He's defying gravity with his bike and seemingly called it from the parking lot, what is his quirk?" Nemuri asked.

"Oh, hahaha," the rat laughed.

"What is it?" All Might asked.

"His name is Izuku Midoriya-Rose, quirk: Soul Revival," Nezu said.

"I want him," I said.

"How are you sure he'll make it?" All Might asked.

"Look at his score, he's already in second with just villain points. When we give him hero points I'm guessing he'll surpass your score," I said, looking at the shrunken hero.

"You're right," Nezu said.

Izuku POV-

I quickly pulled my bike to where the girl was and got off as my bike changed back. I then went to her and lifted the stone as she pulled herself off of it.

"Thanks for the help, ow," she said, lifting her ankle off the ground.

"Here, I can take you to the medical tent I saw," I said. "Hop on my bike," I added, leading to it. I then pushed my bike to the entrance and then to the medical tent. I then saw Recovery Girl. The old me would freak out over seeing a hero, but after living with two heroes the amazement of seeing a hero wasn't really there. "Um, I got someone who's ankle was under a rock and is complaining about it," I said.

"Bring her over here dearie," Recovery Girl said, gesturing to a bed. I helped lead the green haired girl to the bed. "Yep, definitely twisted it, lay here until you feel your energy come back," she said, kissing the girl on the forehead. "Now, let's go get you looked at," she said, leading me to a small curtained area. "You can take your mask and goggles off here. Summer warned me about you," she said.

"Sounds about right," I said, taking them off.

"Wow, you really don't have any meat left. No cracks either, how?" she asked.

"If I do get a crack I drink milk and if I drink more milk my form is more durable," I explained.

"How do you drink milk?"

"I honestly don't know where it goes," I admitted.

"Well, you seem to be good so go home and rest up," the elderly hero said.

I got up and rode my bike back to the house. A week later two identical letters came from UA. One had my name and the other had Ruby's. We each took ours to our own rooms and I opened mine with a metal disc dropping. The disc then revealed a hologram and All Might was there. He explained how I had gotten sixty villain points and then also got seventy hero points for saving the girl who was trapped, giving me a total of one hundred and thirty points, the highest UA has ever seen. I then read the letter as it explained that I would be moving into the UA dorms the day of classes after what we had to do. I was given my class 1-A.

"Onii-chan, I'm in 1-A!" Ruby yelled, banging on my door.

"Same, we did it Ruby," I said, opening my door and hugging her.

AN-

So, this came out of nowhere. I wasn't planning on getting this out for another week but the ideas just kept coming and I finished a chapter and a half by the time I realized it. So, while I didn't explain this quite how I wanted to or how it would best be understood, Ruby, Summer, and Raven came from America and so Ruby knows Japanese as a second language and is also as childish, if not more so, as in the first Volume of RWBY and that is why she refers to Izuku as "Onii-chan" and not just Izuku. Also, I decided to make the ship IzuSet. Follow, favorite, kudos, and comment. Also, have a good day!
