-Chapter One: Meeting a New Ally-
What was going on? What is going on? What should I do?
This was all Stephen thought every time he finished one book and started another one. He had looked everywhere for Wong yet he hadn't found him anywhere. He had decided that the best way to figure out what was happening in Wong's absence was to read books. Books might have an answer to why he was having these nightmares and ever since then, that was what he had been doing. Looking upon book by book to find the answers yet finding none.
It was when he had finished yet another shelf of books that he thought he should take a break. But then it flashed across his mind again.
A dark and lonely road…
Stephen shivered. Every time he thought he should take a break from looking, he had a vision, like his mind was trying to warn him to not give up and it annoyed him to be honest. He knew something was wrong but he wasn't going to find an answer if he didn't have time to think and so, he ignored the vision and got up. It was morning now and the sun was shining brightly in the sky yet something felt odd, felt different and it scared him.
He decided to make himself a cup of tea, even though he knew that wouldn't help him now but he went to make it anyway.
He was about to put the kettle on the stove in the rather full kitchen when he heard it.
Someone was knocking, rapping hard on the door.
Stephen sighed and prepared himself, walking out of the kitchen with his cloak and Eye of Agamotto in place and stood inches away from the door, forming orange, runic shields in his hands in case of an intruder.
"Come in" he said preparing himself.
The doors immediately swung open and in walked, a teenager, about 15, looking confused and angry.
She had curly, black hair; fair skin, blue eyes and was tall. She wore a white shirt with a big blue star on it, a red and blue hoodie with a blue scarf, white and blue trousers and matching sneakers and she headed forward with extreme force as if she planned to fight Stephen.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa…who are you and what do you want?" said Stephen, backing away a little as he did.
"What do I want?!" she shouted. " I was fighting alongside Captain America when you teleported me here!"
"What?!" exclaimed Stephen just as angrily. He assumed this was one of the Avengers' new recruits. "Listen, I don't even know who you are and you were the one barging in on my door!"
"Well then, how did I end up here? Huh?"
"I don't know! Must've had a teleporting accident…" suggested Stephen bitterly.
"Mr. Stark did build a new teleportation device…" said the girl, remembering.
"Wait, what you just said?" asked Stephen, alarmed.
"What, a teleportation device? Do you seriously not know about those?" she asked mockingly, rolling her eyes.
"No" said Stephen, infuriated and annoyed. "Who did you mention?"
"Tony Stark" replied the girl as if it was incredibly obvious. "You know billionaire, genius, playboy, and philanthropist and last but not least, Iron Man?"
"I do know him, well, I knew him but he was martyred"
"What?!" replied the girl, shocked. "No, he's alive!"
Stephen realized something. If what this girl was saying was the truth then that meant he had just figured out why he was having those nightmares. He hurried off to the library and motioned the girl to follow him, saying "Come with me".
"Wait!" she shouted exasperatedly but Stephen didn't stop so she had no choice but to follow.
Stephen went to the shelf he had been looking in earlier and took out a book from the middle whose title was faded and was in old, runic Sanskrit. He opened it and started reading. After a few minutes of turning pages and quick reading, he found what he was looking for.
"Aha!" he exclaimed. "I found it".
Unfortunately, it was just one line: The Multiverse exists.
"Found what exactly?" asked the girl, clearly bored.
"You're from another universe!" exclaimed Stephen. "The Multiverse exists" he whispered to himself. "That's the problem".
"Yeah, right" said the girl disbelievingly.
"What's your name again?" asked Stephen, annoyed.
"America Chavez"
"Well, America Chavez" started Stephen. "You are from another universe and if you still don't believe me, call Steve and ask him about yourself".
After a quick call to Steve, America Chavez turned around to face Stephen. "You were right" she said. "I should've listened".
"Don't worry about it" smiled Stephen.
"So what do we do now?"
"Now we go see an old friend of mine" said Stephen, making up his mind.
