"Weiss Schnee… sure why not"
An enigmatic man sat at a desk, papers sat high in front of him. A warm cup of coffee in his hands. The man was Headmaster Ozpin of Beacon academy, his current task - judging the applications of various students who hope to join the ranks of Beacon trainees.
"Lie Ren… He seems competent enough."
Ozpin seemed exhausted, in ordinary circumstances, he would have his deputy, Miss Goodwitch, aiding him in the task, but due to an unfortunate bout of illness, she was unable to make it.
The task therefore, fell solely to him.
"Yang Xiao Long… Taiyang's daughter? Unsurprising."
He hated the mind numbing paperwork of being headmaster, but it truly was necessary for the running of the school.
"Bonnie Noire? Strong yet arrogant if the references are to be believed. Beacon will correct that."
Fortunately for Ozpin, he was almost done with the task. Only two more applications.
"Jaune Arc? Nicholas' son? I was under the impression his children were not to become huntsmen."
Ozpin examined the application further, perplexed until noticing several discrepancies.
"It's a fake application. A forgery. But from Nicholas' son? The boy is untrained now, but his actions show promise of a man who will do whatever it takes to succeed. I think I'll make an exception this time.
The pile of paperwork on the accepted pile wobbled precariously.
"Finally, almost done. One left. Marina Valtameri."
Ozpin's eyebrows furrowed.
"The girl seems to have little in the way of combat records. Minor training from her mother, and never attended a huntsman academy. How does a girl like her expect to-"
Ozpin calmly placed his mug onto the table as he noticed something huge. Her eyes.
Marina Valtameri had silver eyes. A second silver eyed warrior! This was a rare opportunity indeed!
Ozpin moved Marina's application to the accepted pile, which really seemed to be a little taller than usual. Unseen to his eyes, a note fluttered down from Marina's document, unnoticed by Ozpin, promising a boost to Beacon's coffee budget, looks like Marina's parents' meddling had nothing to do with her acceptance after all.
It was the day before Beacon was set to open and Glynda Goodwitch was furious. She knew this would happen as soon as she came down with her illness.
Ozpin had messed up. Badly.
Glynda was going over the applications to beacon academy, invitations having already been sent out. Not had Ozpin invited a clear forgery but he had, on a whim, decided to invite a young woman named Ruby Rose - years before she was old enough to actually join.
Beacon had a specific amount of students it could afford to invite. 40 students per year. No more. No less. Forty on the dot.
Ozpin had invited forty two students to Beacon. That was two too many! Goodness knows how they would deal with this…
