Two Days Later

The Dragon Riders lit the bombs and they speed forward to Drago's Stronghold. As they flew, Hiccup saw his friends flying into battle under his command. The thought amazed him and he was still terrified. He already lost so many Riders and Dragons in this war. When Hiccup and Toothless landed on the snowy Stronghold, Toothless dropped the bomb and both Dragon and Rider began to dig. When the hole was deep enough, Toothless pushed the barrel in and then both of them left. The Riders regrouped and waited. For several minutes, Hiccup was nervous. If he did something wrong, then the entire battle would be in jeopardy. When the bombs went off, pillars of ice trapped the enemy fleet. The battle has begun and the Riders dove down to blast Drago's ships.

Toothless fired a plasma blast at a large warship putting a decent hole in the hull. The two swerved between the arrows, spears, and cannon fire. Forcing the enemy into friendly fire. Hiccup tossed a Zippleback Gas Bomb onto the deck of a supply ship and the crew jumped overboard. As the battle continued, the Riders flew up to avoid the third phase of the attack. Boulders from Hiccup's Allie ships struck Drago's fleet with calculated precision. Then the Riders went for another attack. This time to free the enslaved dragons. Valka appeared with the Bewilderbeast and Hiccup smiled. The Dragons began to revolt against the Drago's command, but Hiccup felt something. When he saw the pool of bubbles in the center of the Stronghold, Hiccup noticed a man in a dragon scale cloak and a metallic staff. The man waved his staff in the air and yelled. Then the ships around the pool rocked as a massive dragon revealed itself.

"Oh no." Hiccup whispered seeing the two Bewilderbeasts charged. Drago's fleet was tossed at the duel and some sank. Hiccup and Toothless dove down to attack Drago. Toothless fired a blast and the man simply backed up from the blast. They landed on the deck and Hiccup ignited his Inferno. The crew either jumped overboard or backed away in fear of the two. In the distance, he heard a laugh. Hiccup turned to see Drago laugh.

"So you are the Dragon Master Krogan told me about." Drago remarked and Toothless growled.

"So Krogan's here I'm guessing." Hiccup added and Drago chuckled.

"No one fails me twice." Drago replied with a devilish smile.

"You can't win this. You're trapped and surrounded. There is no victory here. Surrender." Hiccup ordered and Drago just walked closer to the Rider and Night Fury.

"That is where you are wrong." Drago replied and a loud yell could be heard. They turned to see the Alpha impaled by Drago's Bewilderbeast.

"Oh no." Hiccup whispered as he focused back on Drago.

"Now you surrender Dragon Master." Drago ordered and Hiccup stood straight and proud.

"The name is Hiccup Haddock and I will never surrender to you." Hiccup promised and Drago waved his staff around and yelled, getting the new Alpha's attention. When the Alpha arrived, Drago pointed at the King of Dragons before pointing at Toothless. The Night Fury shook his head trying to fight the Alpha's control. "You okay bud?"

"No Dragon can withstand the Alpha control. So whoever controls the Alpha, controls them all." Drago said as Toothless was mindless. Drago aimed the staff at Hiccup and Toothless turned.

"Bud. You're still with me?" Hiccup asked as Toothless opened his mouth. The blue plasma ball was forming and Hiccup grabbed his Shield. The Gronckle Iron Shield took the blast but the force pushed Hiccup overboard into darkness.

"Heather!" Dagur yelled as the Dragons went crazy. Windshear knocked the Rider off she was falling to the icy ground. Before she hit the ground, Dagur and Shattermaster caught her. They crash landed soon after and the Gronckle flew off with the other dragons. Heather was in awe at her brother. He saved her even though she made it clear she wanted to kill him. "What's going on?"

"I don't know." Heather answered as she stood up.

"Heather!" Dagur yelled before pushing her out of the way of a spear. Dague wasn't so lucky. The spear went through his left shoulder and Heather grabbed a Monstrous Nightmare Canister. Lit it and threw it was a small ship. It exploded and Heather turned to her brother. Twice now he saved her life and now she was going to try and save him.

Queen Mala watched as the Dragons flew in a circle around the battle. No one knew what was going on. This wasn't part of the plan. For several minutes the fleet waited prepared for a battle. But what they didn't expect was a Bewilderbeaset to bust down a mountain of ice freeing Drago's Fleet. The Dragon fired blasts of ice on the ships forcing them overboard. Mala helped some of her warriors onto barrels to keep them afloat, but as she did. They all saw Drago and his force leaving the battle with their dragons. The battle was lost and all Mala could do was swim to the remains of the Stronghold.

Drago repeated the Dragon Master's name as he flew on the Night Fury. Haddock reminded him of a man in his past. Stoick the Vast was killed years ago, ending the Haddock line. Drago was planning on to reach Berk and forcing the small island under his control. The battle was short and his fleet took a beating, but he came out victorious. But now he has full control of the dragons. Today his conquest begans.

"Hiccup!" Astrid yelled as she ran along the edge of the water searching among the debris. The other Riders were helping, but she couldn't find him. After an hour of searching, Yri yelled and pointed out his location. Astrid turned and raced to the floating Viking. The water was bitter cold, but Hiccup needed help. After some time of swimming, she reached him and saw he was breathing. Astrid grabbed him and swam back to the shore. Valka and Frida brought Hiccup to a fire and tried to warm him while Gustav covered him in a salvaged blanket. Astrid sat next to the unconscious Viking and all the feelings from his disappearance from Berk flooded her once more. She felt responsible for letting this happen. Everyone was still stunned from the battle and no one knew what to do next.

Heather bandaged Dagur's shoulder as best as she could and the Berserker Chief didn't say a word. Heather was both happy and concerned. When she packed away the bandages they sat in silence by a fire. She wanted him to say something, but it was clear he had no words for today's events. So with some courage, Heather spoke first. "Why did you save me?"

"What?" Dagur asked forcing himself to focus.

"Why did you save me?" Heather repeated and Dagur looked at his little sister.

"Because you're my sister and I'm trying to fix my mistake while trying to avoid making any more." Dagur answered and there was a feeling in Heather. She started to regret being so rough on her brother. Today he showed courage and was willing to sacrifice himself for her. That is something the Dagur Heather hated, wouldn't have done. This Dagur sitting next to her was better.

Later

Hiccup woke up and as he tried to sit up, Astrid was the first to hug Hiccup. When Astrid let go, his mother embraced him and the two women helped him up to his feet. He looked at the devastation his attack brought. Drago took a hit, but Hiccup took a bigger hit. Their fleet was gone, dragons taken, and now they were stranded. He failed in a way he has never done before. Not a single one of his disasters could match this. As he walked forward, he felt his ribs were broken and his arm in a sling. In a moment he realized that he lost his best friend. Astrid walked to his side. "I failed. This was my last chance and I failed."

"Don't do that. If you failed then you would have been dead. But you're alive. You still have a chance to fix this." Astrid remarked and Hiccup turned to her.

"And do what. Everything I have ever done lead to disaster. I tried to show Berk that dragons aren't monsters and I failed. This grand attack failed beyond anything I have ever done. Not to mention the countless times I tried to prove to Berk that I could be useful. But every time I do anything it ends the same way. As another disaster for Hiccup the Useless." Hiccup replied as he kicked snow and rocks into the water. He just gave a rant of his feelings from years of trying to prove himself. Astrid punched him in the arm.

"Stop that." Astrid ordered and Hiccup listened. "You aren't Hiccup the Useless. You're Hiccup the Dragon Trainer. The Viking that did flies on a Night Fury and can train any dragon. You faced the most dangerous creatures on Midgard and you never backed down. You survived and no matter how much you're beaten down, you stand back up. You're the kindest, strongest, and bravest knucklehead I have ever known. Now we may be down, but the war isn't over. There is still a fight to be won and we need you." Astrid added before grabbing his hand. "I need you and you have me by your side."

"Thanks." Hiccup replied with a smile. The two turned to the destruction and Hiccup began to form a plan.

"So what are you going to do now?" Astrid asked.

"Probably something stupid." he answered and Astrid smiled.

"Now there's the Hiccup I know." Astrid remarked and they began to get everyone together. Hiccup saw so many faces trusting him to lead after this failure.

"Okay everyone, I know you're all tired and beaten, but Drago is still out there, but now he has our dragons." Hiccup said before gesturing to the graveyard of ships. "This is our ticket out of here. All we need to do is repair one ship and salvage whatever we can get. Then we'll chase down Drago's Fleet." he added before turning to the Wingmaidens. "Since the Wingmaidens still have the baby Razorwhips and can fly, you'll need to scout and find Drago's forces while we get a ship." he ordered and the Vikings did as ordered. Hiccup knew that the coming battles weren't going to be easy, but he had Astrid, Valka, and the Riders next to him. Drago has no one.

One Day Later

Stoick and Gobber entered the Forge to find Viggo studying Hiccup's designs. Gobber guarded them for years and seeing the Hunter in Hiccup's things made the blacksmith angry. He raised his hook and spewed threats. Viggo was unfazed as he turned to the two Vikings with a smirk. "Relax Gobber. I'm just trying to understand more of my enemy." Viggo remarked and Stoick clenched his fist. "The Dragon Riders already dealt damage to our forces, which is why I need to understand as much about Hiccup as I can."

"Dragons!" someone yelled outside as explosions echoed. The three men ran out to see a large flock above the burning and sinking Hunter Fleet. Stoick saw islands of ice float around as a massive dragon with tusks walked through the destruction. But Stoick noticed a man all too familiar to the Chief on a dragon he has only seen once.

"Drago." Stoick whispered as the Vikings exited their homes.

"Hiccup Haddock is dead!" Drago yelled and Stoick nearly fell to his knees. He lost his son twice now. Now he lost Hiccup for a third and final time. "Surrender or fall to the Alpha Dragon!"

"Stoick what do we do?" Gobber asked and Viggo interrupted.

"Simple, surrender. Drago has the numbers and the dragons. We stand no chance." Viggo answered but Stoick was still stunned at the lost of his son.

"Oh Val. I'm so sorry." the Chief whispered regretting his choices soon replaced with anger.
