BLACK VOW (VOCALOID SONG)
AN: This was a small piece of writing I started almost 10 years ago, and just rediscovered and decided to put up after re-editing. It's a transcript of the vocaloid song called 'Black Vow', imagined into words.
Part 1.
Falling, down and down…
The light of heaven quickly shrank into a tiny spot above her head, a bright dot of light that kept spinning and spinning…
Falling, down and down…
The shadows grew and expanded into walls of darkness enclosing around her, taller and taller…
as if she was falling into a bottomless pit…
She reached up her hands, tried to fly to return the impossibly strong down current of force. Her body was now physical, as heavy as earth and stones, and pulling itself down into the abyss. No more was the ethereal existence. No. She didn't know how much longer she would be falling! She must get back, no, her soul might have not entirely drenched in sins, maybe she could still be saved…somehow…
But then the moment she crashed onto the cold and dark ground, the angel had lost all hope.
The once beautiful snow-white wings were now tattered and muddy. Aside from the shock, coldness and pain overtook her. To her, perhaps, then nothing else existed besides guilt, which slowly absorbed her mind, whispered the sins she committed, muttered the tale of why she was cast down here, on this earth. This was the final punishment, was it not? The frail angel embraced herself, then collapsed, her face against the icy stone pavement…
'My dear, are you lost?'
That gentle voice made the angel look up. Was it an illusion, or was there another beautiful angel stretching out her hand in front of her? The rain had just stopped. The slightest rays of sun peaked from sunken clouds and casted warmth around the slim silhouette of the young woman. The very moment when their eyes met, the angel's heart, though never once shaken, pounded vigorously for the first time in millennia… From this moment on, the angel knew that nothing else mattered in all the worlds, except for this moment, this precise moment in time.
What was this feeling? She asked herself. Was this what the humans had written of, sung of, and died for throughout their existence? A feeling that could only be compared to the combined light of myriads of stars in the heavens, or the churning of the deepest depths…
The young woman bent down, a worried look on her youthful and intricate face. She could not see the wings. In her eyes, this was just a girl drenched in rain water, scared and needed protection. A protection which she would try her best to give.
The angel could feel her body heating up. The light became brighter than ever, it glazed and blended into the figure before her, a beauty that was …perfect.
Her fair skin was like porcelain and the rosy lips formed a gentle smile. Her eye colour of fresh and gleaming turquoise, like an invitation to a secret realm of eternal beauty and peace, drew the angel's in with a force as powerful as the roar of the vast ocean. Never had she seen such eyes, they were the reason why her heart continued to beat strongly. The reason why there was a flash of blush running across the angel's perfect face.
'Come with me.' The young woman extended one hand. 'I'll give you shelter.'
The angel only stared at it speechlessly. If only she had known, once she touched the girl's hand, her fate would be sealed. The pain and the torture that her soul would suffer forever. But after all, a feeling, gentle but forceful, longing but wild, perhaps was what was called 'love' – slowly bloomed inside the angel's heart. It was different from the love she knew in heaven … She would do anything for this woman. She would even end the worlds for her.
Having cleared out all thoughts in her now mortal mind, the angel reached out her own hand in return.
