"I just can't reach Hiro." Honey Lemon sighed as her call went straight to voice mail again. She had tried calling him more than ten times now, but to no avail. All calls would just go straight to voicemail. This was especially worrisome to her as she knew that her young friend carried a power bank everywhere he went, just in case his phone died and they needed to call him for some potential threat to the city.

"He's probably at school, studying." Go Go said. She was just lying on the bright red couch in Fred's comic room, flipping through some magazines. "He ditched us at that fight to work on his energy amplifier, remember?"

"Well, yes, but-"

"And this isn't the first time he hasn't answered his phone." Go Go went on. "He doesn't pick up most times when working on our gear."

"I know, but see," Honey Lemon disagreed, "his phone is turned off. That's what's off-putting to me. Have you ever seen Hiro with his phone turned off?"

"I agree with Honey Lemon." Wasabi joined. "This isn't like him. He's always got his phone on. And also," he took out his phone and showed it to Go Go and Fred, "I haven't been able to locate Baymax ever since the two of them got home hours ago."

"You can locate Baymax?" Fred gasped in excitement and jumped up to grab Wasabi's phone. "Since when can you do that? Does Hiro know?"

Wasabi raised his brows and raised his phone up higher over his head so Fred couldn't touch it with his greasy fingers. "For a while now and no, Hiro doesn't know. Baymax and I agreed that this would be a sensible thing to do after he got into trouble with Yama at the school. Just so we can always locate them and step in if there is any trouble. Baymax usually sends a distress signal if they get into any trouble so I can get in touch with you guys."

"So cool!" Fred gasped and nodded. "But if you can't reach Hiro," he suddenly froze as if he was only now processing the meaning of their conversation, "and you can't locate Baymax," he gasped again, this time in horror, "then Hiro might be in trouble."

Wasabi rolled his eyes and nodded. "Now you're getting it."

"Guys," Go Go said calmy from the couch, "he just ditched us. He's probably busy working. He's got that final projet due, remember?"

Honey Lemon furrowed her brow at her friend. "I think you're being too nonchalant about this." She stated simply, her upbeat attitude suddenly gone. "Remember that Hiro is fourteen and Obake's still out there." she walked over to the couch to take the magazine out of Go Go's hands. "A dangerous man whom we still haven't beaten. Maybe Hiro ran into him and a fight broke out. Or Obake showed up at the school and Hiro decided to follow him, or-"

"And why would Hiro do that?" Go Go sat up and popped a bubble gum bubble. "He knows to get in touch with us if there's any trouble. Also, he's got Baymax, right? What could possibly have happened to him with Baymax by his side?"

"Usually I'd agree," Wasabi intervened, "but, like I said, I cannot locate Baymax. Who knows where the two of them are?"

"We should go and check it out!" Fred chimed in suddenly, full of excitement at the thought of suiting up for the second time that day. Wasabi nodded and crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"The last signal I can trace is when they had both gotten home. After that the connection is lost. We should probably go and check there first, just to be safe."

"Fine." Go Go sighed and got up, stretching her arms and legs. "But I'm telling you, we'll probably only find him playing videogames and Baymax in his charging station. Nothing to be concerned about."

"If that's all it is then we can just go home and be at peace." Honey Lemon told her friend and grabbed her chem purse. "But better safe than sorry. If Hiro really is in trouble, and …" she hesitated and tried to ignore the weird feeling in her stomach, "… and we didn't come to help him …" she took a shaky breath, "then I could never forgive myself. Let's go."

The four of them decided to walk the couple minutes over to the Lucky Cat café. If everything was fine and Hiro really had been alright, then they felt it would be too much to show fully suited up. If Aunt Cass saw them, she'd also grow suspicious.

However, when they turned the corner, they all froze in their tracks. In front of the Lucky Cat there were a couple police cars and two large firetrucks, the blue light flashing across the other buildings and reflecting off the many street signs. There was a large cloud of black smoke coming from the roof right next to where Hiro's room was. Honey Lemon's blood froze and tears welled in her eyes – she had been right. Something was wrong.

Without thinking about it she started running towards the café, the others following her just a split second after. She duck under the police tape and quickly shook off an officer who tried to stop her by saying that she was a close friend. As she was approaching the café's front door she saw Aunt Cass sitting on the pavement, a blanket wrapped tightly around her, an untouched mug of hot cocoa in her hands. Her chubby cheeks were reddened and she was crying silently, the tears dripping onto the cream in her cocoa.

"Aunt Cass …" Honey Lemon gasped, out of breath. She quickly knelt down and put her hands on the woman's knees. "What happened? W-Where's Hiro?"

Cass looked at Honey Lemon with her reddened eyes. She hesitated before bursting out crying all of a sudden. The mug fell next to her and the handle broke off. The woman buried her face in her hands and cried bitterly, quietly saying Hiro's name repeatedly. Honey Lemon's heart was beating heavily in her chest. She had had a bad feeling about her young friend all day and yet she had not followed her gut to come and check on him before. How could she have been this stupid? How?

"When Hiro didn't come down to dinner," Cass quietly started speaking, her arms still wrapped around Honey Lemon's shoulders, "I went to check on him. His room was empty and the window open … I-I noticed the fire on the roof and quickly called the police and the fire department …"

"Where is Hiro now?" Honey Lemon asked calmly. She tried so hard not to show the poor woman how upset she was.

"I … I don't know." Cass replied with a shaky voice. "He's just … disappeared. I was in the kitchen all the time, I would have noticed if he'd come down. I don't know why he'd leave though … he was pretty hurt from all the chaos at school." Honey Lemon's body stiffened – Hiro had been hurt? How could she not have noticed? "I assumed that Baymax would patch him right back up before dinner …" Cass added quietly and supported her head with her hands, her arms now resting on her knees. "Something must have happened, Honey. I just … I can feel it. There's no way he would have just left, he'd-"

"Hiro's gone." Honey Lemon and Cass both twitched in surprise when they heard Go Go's voice behind them. "I just spoke with the policemen." Go Go continued. Although she displayed no signs of distress of any kind Honey Lemon could tell that her friend was freaking out just as much as she was – she was just a master of masking her emotions. "The fire on the roof was put out without damage, but they couldn't find the cause of it. They said the burn marks look like they came from a rocket, or some kind of thrusters … The window is also partially damaged, so whoever took Hiro must have at least left through there."

"Hiro …" Cass mumbled, her bottom lip trembling as she started crying again.

"We'll find him, please don't worry … " Honey Lemon whispered to the woman and gently hugged her. Wasabi watched them with sad eyes before turning to Go Go and leaning down to whisper "What else do we know?" She glanced up at him and for a second Wasabi thought he saw concern and worry in her big, dark eyes.

"Not much, unfortunately." She admitted and turned away from her friend and Hiro's aunt on the ground. "For some reason they can't find any other DNA other than Hiro's. So the kidnapper must have been extremely careful or-"

"Or a ghost." Fred chimed in with a serious voice. Wasabi and Go Go jumped a little when their friend suddenly appeared in between them. "A ghost does not leave NDA."

"You mean DNA." Wasabi corrected, his perfectionism getting the better of him. "And I'm sorry to break it to you, Fred, but-"

"But ghosts don't exist." Go Go finished for him and sighed. "But … maybe the idea isn't all that bad." When Wasabi stared at her in disbelief and a huge smile spread on Fred's face Go Go quickly continued to explain. "What if the kidnapper wasn't human but a robot of some sort? I mean, who do we know who's good with robots and around these days?" Wasabi's face paled while Fred just seemed confused. "Exactly. Obake."

"But what could Obake want with Hiro?" Wasabi asked, puzzled. There was some last bit of information missing and they somehow couldn't quite get it. That is, until they decided to take a look at Hiro's room, or, as the police called it, the crime scene. Aunt Cass had to stay outside as she could not handle heading up there again to find the room of her two beloved boys empty again.

It pained Honey Lemon to see Tadashi's old room. She had only been here once ever since her ex-boyfriend had passed. She missed Tadashi so much that she could barely stand the sight of his bed on the other side of the room, half hidden by a room-divider. She felt tears crawling up in her eyes again but quickly tried to recollect herself and focus on what was more important now – Hiro. Tadashi had always spoken so fondly of his little brother that she had made it her own personal mission to protect the young boy at all costs. She was going to honor the one thing that Tadashi had loved and left behind.

She looked around the room and quickly wiped the tears away. The light bulb was flickering in the cool night air that was coming in through the opened window over Hiro's bed. The bed was made, so he had not gone to bed before he was taken. Baymax's charging station was beeping quietly opposite of Hiro's bed, set to remind Hiro and Baymax to charge the robot. So Baymax and hadn't had set foot in it yet, which was strange.
Honey Lemon carefully stepped closer to the bed and took a closer look around. On Hiro's nightstand was a book about robotics with the boy's notes all over the pages and one of his robots that he had gone to botfights with before. A glass of water had been knocked over and his night guard lay unused in its container. When she leaned over the bed linen to take a closer look she noticed two large imprints of boots – boots that were so large, they couldn't possibly belong to human. They were only rounded at the top and square at the bottom. Whoever had stood on there must have been the one to leave the scratches on the window frame – or so she thought.

"If it really was a robot," Honey Lemon started, her mind racing and kneeled on the floor, "then it still must have left some sort of trace. Maybe machine oil or … or a shard of metal. Just anything. And it must have been strong enough to take Hiro and Baymax." Her fingers started typing on the keyboard on her chem purse.

"Who- or whatever it was, it was in and out pretty fast." Wasabi said. He was helping Honey Lemon looking for traces on the window. "Aunt Cass said it had only been about fifteen minutes when she came to check on Hiro."

"Maybe," Fred said dramatically as he crawled along the floor in search of a trace of their friend, "it was a pirate robot."

"Really, Fred?" Go Go asked in annoyance. "Now? With your jokes?"

"If there's a Noodle Burger Robot, then why not a Pirate robot?" Fred insisted angrily. "I mean, anything could happen, right?" And also-"

Honey Lemon gasped when she suddenly discovered something. She had used her chem purse to make a small, sticky ball that she was rolling along the window frame, hoping to find something that would stick to it – and she did. "Look at this." She called the others and very carefully set her finger onto the metal to make it stick. When she lifted it up closer to her eyes she couldn't help but to find the small, red shard familiar. Wasabi and the others stepped closer and examined the small piece of metal as well, all of them not really understanding what they were looking at.

"Must be something from his little botfight bot here." Go Go said as she gave up examining the microscopic piece of metal. When they looked at her in confusion she gestured at the robot on Hiro's nightstand. "It's got a red face, remember?"

"I don't know, Go Go …" Honey Lemon mumbled and knelt in front of the bed. "This material and color seem so familiar." She took out her second pair of glasses and put them on in order to examine the tiny shard further. "I just feel like I've seen it before."

"Yeah," Fred chuckled and looked down at her, "it's the same color as Baymax's armor." All of them froze at Fred's words and stared at Honey Lemon who's mouth had fallen open. "What?" Fred questioned and shrugged. "I call it like I see it."

"Baymax's armor …" Honey Lemon mumbled. Her eyes met Wasabi's and they both knew that they were thinking the same thing.

"The fire," Go Go said quietly and looked out the window, "they said it must have come from a rocket of some sort."

"Or thrusters ..." Honey Lemon added quietly. "And the red shard, just like his armor."

"Hiro and Baymax are both missing …" Wasabi mumbled and looked down at the red metal shard in Honey Lemon's hand. "Or maybe just one of them is."

"Baymax took Hiro to him." Go Go concluded and gritted her teeth.

"Baymax?" Fred asked in disbelief and shook his head. "Why on earth would Baymax kidnap Hiro? They're best friends!"

"Fred." Go Go called and looked at him with a stern expression. "Baymax was just the tool used to catch Hiro off-guard. Hiro would never suspect Baymax to harm him."

"But, if Baymax is being used, then who would-" Fred's expression darkened when he suddenly understood what had happened. His friend had been taken by his closest friend who must have been controlled.

"Yes …" Honey Lemon said shakingly. "Obake must have taken Hiro."

*

When Hiro blinked his eyes open he found himself looking up at a grey ceiling with a dimmed light. It hurt his eyes to look at it directly and so he slowly turned his head away. His whole body seemed heavy and his head felt foggy, he didn't like this feeling dragging him down at all.

He looked around the room with sleepy eyes, trying to collect his thoughts. For some reason he couldn't help but feeling that something bad must have happened to him. He didn't know what or how, but he just had a feeling. When he tried to remember his head started to hurt a bit, his mind was so foggy and clouded that it was hard to think.

What had happened?

Where was he?

And how did he get here?

With a slight groan the boy sat up slowly, only then noticing the bandages around his wrists and elbows. Upon further inspection he felt a stinging pain coming from the wounds and he wondered again what had caused this.

He was covered with a fluffy, white blanket and a soft pillow that had helped him sleep. Next to his bed there was a small table with a glass of water. Otherwise, the room was cold and empty, apart from a door on the opposite of his bed. The door was bleak and seemed to be made of metal.

Carefully not to hurt himself further Hiro pushed the blanket aside and found himself dressed in a pair of pants that went just below his knees and a red shirt. His feet were covered by socks, but there was no sign of his shoes anywhere – but maybe he hadn't had worn shoes before he fell asleep anyway, he thought.

When he stood he gasped when a sharp pain shot up his left leg. He only then noticed the bandage around his knee that peaked out from under his shorts. "What the …" he mumbled and took careful steps over to the door. He might not have known how he had gotten here, but he wanted to find out. And so, he opened the heavy door with a groan and slowly stepped outside.

He found himself at the end of a rather long hallway, with the only light source being all the way at the end. Hiro could hear the voices of two men speaking, with one voice being much clearer than the other. He took a few careful steps forward and eventually supported himself by leaning against the cold wall. For some reason he couldn't really make out the voices or what they were talking about, not even as he stepped closer and closer to the room at the end of the hallway. Although he felt like he knew the words it was so hard to understand the meaning and to comprehend what was going on.

When he peeked around the corner, he felt even more confused as he saw a well-dressed man with slick, black hair standing in front of a screen of some sort. Hiro didn't know the man whom he could see on the screen, but there was a nagging feeling inside of him saying that he should know who this person was. Both men appeared to be of similar age, though the man on screen already had some grey hair showing. His rather large nose stuck out to Hiro the most. But before he could take it all in further the man on the screen seemed to spot him.

"I think you have a visitor." He told the other in a warm voice that sent shivers down Hiro's spine. The voice seemed so painfully familiar that it was starting to hurt his head not knowing what to make of this. "Hello, Hiro."

The man in front of Hiro turned around and a large smile spread on his face immediately. He looked the boy up and down before opening his arms, as if inviting him in for a hug, and stepped closer. "Hiro, my dear boy." He greeted him. "How'd you sleep?"

Hiro looked at him in confusion, a weird feeling inside of his chest preventing him from stepping forward. He still hid behind the corner a bit, trying to figure out what was happening. "F-Fine …" he replied quietly when both men just continued looking at him, waiting for an answer. The man in front of him seemed happy with his response and stepped behind him to gently push him into the room. Although he felt uncomfortable Hiro carefully stepped inside and looked from one man to the other. They were both looking at him expectantly as he was just standing there, not really knowing what to do. And so, he did the first thing that came to his mind – introduce himself to the strangers. "I … My name is … Hiro." He blinked quickly and then quickly added "I-I think."

Both men chuckled and he felt the man's hand on his shoulder. "That's right." He reassured him. "Your name is Hiro. Well done. Come and greet our visitor." He gently nudged Hiro forward, closer to the screen. The man with the big nose smiled a bit strangely at Hiro and he couldn't help but feel like this man also thought that they knew each other. The feeling was continuing to nag at him, but he decided not to pay too much attention to it anymore. Both these men seemed to know him and by the way they were nice to him Hiro figured that they knew who he was and that he actually knew them … or at least the man by his side.

"This is Robert Callaghan." The man by his side introduced them. "He will be giving us a new place to stay, isn't that nice?"
Hiro blinked up at the man next to him when he suddenly asked him for approval. "Uh …" he needed a few moments to process what he had been asked, his mind still clouded. "Y-Yes. Nice." he nodded slowly in agreement, not really knowing what exactly he had been told. Slowly he was finding it easier to understand the words, but the meaning behind them seemed to be processing rather slowly. "I … uhm …" he found his hands trembling a bit as he was hesitant to ask a question. "Where … where am I? I can't … I can't remember …" he looked up into the man's eyes next to him. For a moment he was worried to see disappointment in his eyes. Maybe this was his home and he just didn't know. Or maybe this man was his family and he had forgotten.

But instead of disappointment the man smiled again and Hiro thought that he heard the man named Robert Callaghan chuckle a bit in the background. Before he could give it more thought though the man knelt down to him and gently grabbed him by his shoulders. "Do you remember anything at all?" he asked him with a quiet voice. "You know your name is Hiro. What else?"

"Uhm …" Hiro furrowed his brow in thought as he understood the question and then tried to find an answer. Was there anything at all?
He knew his name was Hiro … Hiro what? He must have had a last name. For some reason though he did not know what it was.
He didn't know where he was, didn't know who these men were. He didn't remember how he got to wake up in that comfortable bed in the tiny, dark room or why he had been there in the first place. When he tried to think of where he lived, of his family, nothing came up at all. Instead his mind only seemed to cloud even more, as if something in there had simply disappeared from existence.

"I … I know my name is Hiro." He replied quietly and brought a hand up to his head, gently kneading the side to try and ease the upcoming pain. "And," he said quietly, trying to grasp some sort of information, just anything to try and remember, "and … and that I woke up in … in that room down the hallway …" he glanced over to the dark corridor, the man's eyes following his.

"Alright then." The man said, a light chuckle escaping his lips. "That's fine, Hiro. Good job. I'll tell you everything you need to know, don't worry." The way he patted his shoulder's and looked into his eyes set off a strange mix of feelings – somehow it upset him in a way that he couldn't explain. However, it also calmed him a lot to know that this man knew who and where he was and that he was willing to help him and explain. He figured that he must have gotten into an accident of some sort that had affected his memory and caused him to forget. How else could he have ended up like this?

"Robert, I'll speak to you later." The man then said and turned away from him. "I need to look after Hiro."

"I must say, Obake, I'm quite impressed." Robert Callaghan said. "What a fine job you did there."
Hiro blinked in confusion as he felt like the man was referring to him but had no time to think about it when the other replied: "Thank you. Let's discuss the details later." And with that they said their goodbyes and the image of Robert disappeared. After him followed a video of a large, red bridge that seemed to connect two parts of a city. Hiro stared at it for a second, his heart suddenly beating quicker. For some reason he felt like he knew that bridge so well, felt like he had been on top of it and enjoyed the view over the city. But if he had actually been there, then shouldn't he be able to remember this?

"Let's go, Hiro." He looked away from the screen and back up at the man whom Callaghan had called Obake. "There is much to talk about." And with that he slowly guided Hiro out of the room and into another, much brighter and more comfortable room. Hiro noticed a woman with black hair and skintight suit on the other side of the room, seemingly busy with what seemed like blue blades. Next to her there was something Hiro could have only identified as a purple mess of slime, but he decided to ask about this later. He stayed close to Obake and continued to look around the room. He noticed so much equipment and technical machines laying around, Obake must have been quite the craftsman, if all this was his. Hiro thought that he even spotted robot parts scattered around. Somehow the man immediately seemed much cooler and more sympathetic to Hiro. He couldn't quite understand why, though.

"There you go, sit down." Obake helped Hiro to sit on a small couch on the opposite of the woman who still busy cleaning her blades. "You must still be tired?" Hiro blinked up at him and thought for a second. When he realized that he was, indeed, quite tired, he hesitated. He really wanted some answers and if he admitted to being tired, then maybe he'd be sent back to bed. Obake however seemed to have read his mind and gave a light chuckle as he said: "Don't worry. Let's talk first and then get you back to bed." Obake turned his back and grabbed a small bottle of water from a table full of screwdrivers and other tools. Hiro watched as he unscrewed the bottle and then dropped a little, round pill into it. It dissolved in the water with a fizzling sound. When Obake handed it to him, Hiro hesitated. "It's for your injuries. It'll help you heal." He explained and sat down next to him. The way their bodies were now touching somehow made Hiro uncomfortable and comfortable at the same time. It was calming to have someone by his side who could help him. "Make sure to drink it all." He added when Hiro eventually took the bottle. Although he still had this weird feeling in his gut that something strange was going on, he eventually put the bottle to his lips and slowly drank the water.

"So," Obake said as he watched Hiro drink, "you must have a lot of questions."

When Hiro finished the drink the boy looked up at the man next to him and nodded. He handed him the empty bottle. "Y-Yes. If that's okay …?"

"Of course, my boy. Ask away." Obake said encouragingly. "I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have."

"O-Okay … thanks." Hiro couldn't help but to smile a little and then thought about what to ask first. He felt like there were hundreds of questions now starting to pile up, but he started to go with the one that confused him the most: "What happened?"
Obake leaned back with a sigh and looked at Hiro with a worried expression on his face. When he started to explain Hiro thought he could hear the concern in the man's voice. "You got a little reckless with one of your experiments yesterday." Hiro blinked in confusion – experiment? "You are quite the skilled craftsman, my boy." Obake explained and gestured over at one of the tables with parts of what looked like a skeleton made of metal. "You built a new robot but, being the reckless boy you are," Obake chuckled and gently nudged Hiro's shoulder, "you didn't do any testruns and just turned it on. It … let's just say that you should have done the tests. The skeleton hit you over the head and you passed out, so I brought you to your room to rest. I knew though that this incident might have caused you to lose your memories."

"Oh …" Hiro nodded, pretending to understand. What Obake had said made sense to him, but somehow he couldn't stop this nagging feeling inside of him that this was not true. He felt like this was something he would do but it didn't add up. "I ... I built that?" he then asked and pointed over at the metal skeleton. He couldn't deny that seeing it and the bunch of white fabric on the ground seemed familiar to him, like he had actually seen this many times before. Seeing the white fabric torn from its skeleton made his heart ache a bit though.

Obake continued to explain that Hiro was quite smart and that he was gifted not only in the field of robotics but with science in general. Hearing this did trigger something in the back of Hiro's clouded mind. It felt like this was definitely the truth, that he really was gifted. He listened to Obake telling him stories about all the robots he had invented and all the awards he had gotten. Slowly but surely some memories did seem to return to Hiro. He thought he could remember the science award from high school Obake told him about, the award he got for having the school's best project despite being the youngest contestant … it reassured him so much, just knowing that this man really did know him and wanted to help him remember.

"I … I don't mean to be rude …" Hiro eventually started and fiddled with his hands. "But … who are you?" he hoped so very badly that Obake wouldn't be offended and, to his relief, he wasn't. Instead he seemed pleased that Hiro had asked.

"My name is Obake." He started. "I am your teacher."

"My … my teacher?" Hiro repeated. "For what?"

"For everything, dear boy." Obake replied and chuckled. "You came to me, knowing that I was the only one who could help you mature into the man you always wanted to be. Into the genius, you and I both know you can be." When he put his hands on Hiro's shoulders the boy twitched a bit in surprise. They were suddenly quite close, sitting on the couch like this, and it was unsettling. "I promised to teach you everything I know and that's what we've been doing. You will accomplish great things here, with me."

Hiro blinked up at him, not really understanding what he was talking about. He knew he could trust Obake since he knew everything about him, but his gut feeling was telling him something else. "What about my family?" Hiro then asked and looked right into Obake's eyes. "Are … if you're my teacher … then where's my family?"
Suddenly, the expression on Obake's face changed. His smile disappeared and instead a dark look filled his eyes as he looked down into the boy's dark eyes. Hiro felt insecure with the sudden change in mood and immediately regretted asking. He apologized quietly and mumbled that he didn't need to know, but Obake went on speaking: "Such a sad story. I hoped you'd have forgotten it for good."

"W-Why …? What happened?"

"You don't have a family anymore, my boy." He responded simply and sighed. "Your family abandoned you when you were but a child. You were put into the system and attended school with the other children. That's where we met, and you quickly asked to come and stay with me."
Hiro listened closely and felt his heart ache. Somehow he knew that what Obake had said about his family was true – he had had a feeling that he didn't have parents anymore. "I see …" he mumbled and looked down at his hands.

Silence spread out between them in which Hiro could only feel his heart beating painfully in his chest. He felt so sad suddenly, thinking about how he didn't have a family anymore. Part of him had held onto the small bit of hope that there was someone out there, waiting for him … maybe a mother, father or sibling.

His heart was beating painfully in his chest and he couldn't help but to have tears dwell up in his eyes. He didn't know why, but he was just so sad, knowing that he was all alone.

Obake gently pulled the boy closer to him, a strange smile on his lips that Hiro only managed to see out of the corner of his eye. The way Obake's arm was now around him, holding him close calmed Hiro a little bit.

"Don't you worry, Hiro." He said as he gently patted the boy's back. "You're safe here, with me. And once we get to our new place you'll have your own room, your own workshop and everything you could ever want. I'll make sure of it."

His vision was blurry with tears, but Hiro still managed to look up at him and give him a small smile. He really was lucky that Obake had taken him in back then, he thought. The way he was looking down at him made Hiro feel like maybe he saw more in him than just a student. Maybe, just maybe, they had become something like a little family?

When Obake said that it was time for Hiro to get some more rest the boy protested only a bit before agreeing and letting Obake guide him back to his room. When they passed the screens where he had seen Robert Callaghan's face before he felt his heart ache a bit when he saw a video of a small group of people walking along a street. He couldn't really see it too clearly, but it seemed to be two girls and two guys, talking to each other with their phones in their hands.

"Don't worry about this." Obake said and gently turned Hiro's head away from the screens. "This is just some research I am working on." Hiro thought that this seemed like quite the odd research, but decided not to give it much more thought.

Ever since he had drank a bit he felt much better. His mind felt less cloudy and the weird gut feelings were slowly starting to get less intense as well. When he mentioned this to Obake he couldn't help but to return the smile the man gave him.

"Now," Obake said as he opened the door to the small room Hiro had woken up in before, "tomorrow's the big move, remember?"

Hiro stepped inside and carefully sat down on his bed, his knee aching a bit. He nooded and actually felt good when he really did remember that he had heard Obake and Callaghan speak about this before. "Where are we moving?" he asked softly, kind of curious as to where his new home would be. Obake just told him it was a secret though and chuckled a bit when Hiro yawned widely. He heard how he would be woken up in time and nodded again.

"Rest now, Hiro. I need you well rested tomorrow." Obake said and turned off the light as Hiro lay down. A shiver ran down the boy's spine, almost, as if he had heard him say these exact words before. When the door closed Hiro didn't really need much more time in order to fall asleep. Suddenly he was so tired that he could barely stay awake for more than a few seconds before sleep overcame him and pulled him into a strange dream – a dream where he had an older brother.

Dreams really are strange, Hiro managed to think before drifting off.
