Olive was almost hyperventilating. It couldn't be. Her best friend was pregnant?

-OK… how… how did this…

-This is not a good time for a biology lesson Olive…

-No I mean… when… who… wait… was that guy… from the hospital…

Sydney nod.

The blond teenager sat beside her best friend.

-Want me to call Emmy and Sophia?

-no… Olive I'm scared…

A few weeks earlier…

Sydney walked in her home, her dad waiting for her on the couch.

-Hey Syd! How was the sleepover at Olive's?

-It… was fine… thank you.

Max stood up.

-Oh, by the way. Olive came over yesterday to bring you this cream… since you weren't at her home.

Sydney opened her eyes as big as she could, her hands trembling.

-w… what?

-Olive was here last night, came to bring you this… so, where did you REALLY spend the night Sydney?

-I… I went to… to see Emma for a homework assignment and then I went to Olive's but she wasn't there so I had to wait until she came back.

Five minutes later Sydney was crying in her room. She couldn't understand how she had become a girl that lied blatantly to her father, that consented to be abused by someone who claimed to love her, and to add insult to injury now she was pregnant with a baby of his…

-mom… what am I doing… what am I going to do…

But if that seemed to be the worst of her problems, things were going to get even worse, the following day after school, Sydney went to see Tony to tell him about the situation since he had failed to show up that day and the day prior, she rang the doorbell and waited. After half an hour a woman walked by and glared at her.

-Are you looking for the people who lived there?

The teenager nodded and the woman spoke again.

-They moved out two days ago, the house is empty.

Sydney felt her heart sank to her feet. Could it be possible? Did he just leave?, and left her pregnant?

For two whole minutes she stood there, she felt every tear running down her face, then, she just sat and cried, cried until she had no more tears in her to be cried. Then, silently she got up and walked home, she didn't cared it was two whole miles, what she had for dinner she didn't remember, she went to bed and cried herself to sleep. The following morning Olive was waiting for her outside the school.

-So.. did you tell him?

Sydney glared at her.

-he moved… that's why he's not coming to school…

Olive was petrified

-b… but you called him right?

Silently the teenager produced her cell phone from her backpack, dialed a number and pressed the speaker button.

The number you have dialed is no longer in service… The number you have dialed is no longer in service…

For any answer the blonde teenager hugged her friend.

-I'm not going to leave you.

Sydney smiled

-I know…

-So… what are you going to do now?

The brunette closed her eyes

-I don't know… I don't know yet…

That night Sydney was trying to put her mind away of all that was happening when she came across an ad on her social network that read:

If you're a teenager and you're pregnant, we can help

Closing her eyes she dialed the number and listened to a recorded message she hung up after writing an address on a piece of paper. The next morning Olive popped beside her as she was pulling her books from her locker.

-hey…

-Sydney you need to sleep…

-I'm going to miss coming to school you know?

Olive's eyes opened wide

-What… what are you talking about?

-in… in a couple of months it'll show… and I'll be expelled…

-NO! WE CAN'T LET THEM DO THAT!

Hearing the commotion Emmy and Sohpia went to them

-What's going on? - Sophia asked

Scared Sydney slammed the door of her locker shut.

-Nothing, Olive is exaggerating as usual.

Leaving her three friends in complete disbelief she walked to her next class.

-Olive you know something right? - Emma asked

The blonde tried to say something but ended up running after her friend. After school and after an enormous effort to keep Olive away Sydney took a bus to the place of the ad. Slowly and with an absent mind she walked for two blocks.

-I need to solve this…

She crossed the door and was greeted by a woman that was dressed like a nurse.

-I… I'm pregnant and… I don't know what to do…

The woman smiled and gave her a brochure, Sydney's eyes opened wide as she realized what the place was…
