Delta takes in his surroundings. He's standing in the living room, taking in every detail of the house. It was small, but open, natural light streaming in through the windows. His optics lower, taking in the small table, pictures littering the surface. He gently picks one up, taking in the still shot of a young Femme with his coloring, and a young Mech with Enforcer decals. In between the two of them, goofy grin on his face, is a younger version of himself. He gently places a digit on the glass, tracing the outline of his younger self.
"I've always loved that picture."
Armor flinching slightly, he turns at the soft voice, Dawnstrike standing a few feet away. He sighs, lowering his helm.
"Primus, it feels like so long ago. So much has happened, and…I'm not the same Mechling you sent off to boot camp."
A gentle servo is placed on his, prompting him to lift his helm, meeting the gentle optics of his mother.
She smiles.
"We know you're not. And I hope that you will be able to tell us all about what has happened. We want to know."
Delta soon finds himself sitting on a couch in the living room. Barricade is sitting in a chair near him, saying nothing but taking in every detail. Delta shifts awkwardly at the intense scrutiny, not loving the attention. It didn't help that the golden youngling was also staring at him. Finally, Barricade opens his mouth.
"Primus…it's been so long. Where have you been? What's gone on? What-"
"Barricade, calm down. He will explain everything, I'm sure." Dawnstrike says, coming in from the kitchen area with a small stack of cubes.
Sol gets to his peds, helping her with the cubes. He grabs two, taking one for himself and holding one out to Delta.
Hesitating slightly, he lifts a servo, taking the cube with a quiet "thanks". He's pulling out the packet and adding the contents of it before he even realizes what he's doing.
"What's that?"
He freezes, lifting his optics to see the others staring at him.
"I…It's…medicine."
"Medicine? For what?"
"Solarstrike. You do not ask things like that—it's his personal business." Dawnstrike says sharply.
"Mom, it's alright." He says placing a servo on her forearm. "He's just curious."
He turns to the younger Mech, not seeing the look the older bots share. Strange…he usually got a bit defensive when it came to personal questions like that—especially if it was from a bot he didn't know, or know well.
"I got hurt pretty badly where I was staying. Sometimes my systems have to shut down briefly to handle all of the input I get. This medicine helps with that so it's not so severe a shut down. Make sense?"
Solarstrike pauses, thinking. Then, he nods with a smile.
"Yeah. Thank you for telling me."
Delta finds himself returning a crooked smile.
"No problem, kid."
He takes a sip of his cube, trying not to grimace at the slightly bitter taste. The medicine for his Rapid System Lock was not the best tasting stuff. But it got Ratchet and Knockout off of his case, so there was that benefit to it. Lowering the cube, he fingers the edge, trying to ignore the gazes.
"So…what do you guys want to know?"
Barricade shifts.
"How about you start with where you've been all of this time. And why we couldn't find anything about what happened, and where you were. After you got hurt, it was suddenly like you never existed—no one remembered you, there were no records of you at the academy, the hospital, nothing."
Delta sighs, his gaze on the cube in his servos.
"First off, I need you to keep an open mind. Even I still don't understand everything that went on, and I'm the one it all happened to."
Barricade nods.
"Well, let's just say that it was divine intervention…"
