RRTAB: Read, Review, and Tell A Buddy!

Disclaimer: I don't Sailor Moon!

The week after Usagi returned from her grandmother's house was a quiet one. She continued to look for the other senshi, avoided the jerk that insulted her, and, of course, serving time in detention.

The bell rang, releasing the middle school students for the day. Usagi sighed and watched as her peers cleared the room as if it was on fire. She slouched in her chair. With how many times she had to stay after school for detention, she had to hold some kind of world record.

"Okay, Tsukino," Haruna said, crossing her arms. "You're free to go."

"Really?" Usagi asked with widen eyes.

"Yes. I have to go so get out of here."

Usagi gathered her belongings and rushed out of the door before the moody teacher changed her mind. She scurried out of the school building and towards the city bus stop. "Luna," she called for the cat. "Where are you?" The cat and she agreed to meet at the bus stop before the senshi of the moon rushed out her house that morning but Luna was nowhere to being found. She looked through the nearby bushes. "Luna?"

"Looking for someone?" someone said behind her.

Usagi turned around and immediately scowled. "You!" she cried accusingly.

Mamoru crossed his arms. "Why are you mad at me? You hit me, remember?"

"You called me stupid!"

"You earned a 30," Mamoru retorted.

Usagi rolled her eyes. "Who are you, anyway? What are you doing here?"

He pointed to the bus stop sign. "Is riding the bus a crime?" Usagi said nothing. He took a deep breath. "So, I think we got on the wrong foot the other day."

Usagi scoffed. "No kidding."

Mamoru gave her an annoyed look. "I'm trying to make peace, here. You could at least try to play along."

Usagi sighed. "You're right. I'm sorry." She bowed. "I'm Tsukino Usagi."

Mamoru smiled and returned the bow with one of his own. "And my name is Chiba Mamoru. It's nice to meet you. "

Usagi nodded. "You too, I guess." She looked around, then back to Mamoru. "Have you seen my cat? She was supposed to be waiting here."

Mamoru chuckled. "You speak like you two made plans to meet here or something."

The blonde laughed nervously. "Yeah, I know it sounds silly but she's really well trained. Her not being here is worrying me a little."

"I can help you look," Mamoru volunteered with a shrug.

Usagi shook her head. "Really, that's not necessary. I can find her. You have a bus to catch, right?"

"I'm in no rush," Mamoru replied. "Besides, if you're worry\ied, chances are your cat is too. What's her name?"

"Luna."

Mamoru nodded. "So that's what you were saying earlier. Don't worry, Tsukino-san. We'll find her."

Usagi smiled brightly. "Thank you, Chiba-san." Forgetting her last experience with Mamoru Chiba really was for the best. In just a few moments, Mamoru had already proven to be a nice guy. "I really appreciated it."

The two searched around the bus stop for the small kitten. They checked the bushes, the nearby shops and asked passing pedestrians with no luck. Mamoru sighed as the second bus since they started their search drove away. "She's not here, Tsukino-san. Maybe she's still at home."

Usagi smiled. "I understand if you want to stop looking. I'm going to keep searching, though. It's not like Luna to pull a disappearing act. Thank you for trying."

Beeping filled the air. Mamoru grimaced. "What is that terrible sound?"

"M-my ringtone," Usagi said quickly. "Maybe someone found Luna. Thank you for helping me, Chiba-san!" She waved and ran off.

She slipped out of the crowd and into an alley. She answered the communicator and sigh with relief that the beeping had stopped. "Luna," she hissed. "Where have you been? We agreed to meet at the bus stop. I've been looking all over for you."

"Change of plans," Luna said quickly. The panicked tone she used caught Usagi by surprise. "Come home. Quickly." The cat hung up as quickly as she called.

Usagi frowned at what just happened but shrugged it off and put away the communicator. She stepped out of the alley and glanced back towards the bus stop. It was empty. She sighed, a little disappointed by the fact. "Maybe I'll see him again soon," she assured herself.

She walked home, the memory of Luna's panicked voice fueling her quick pace. She opened the door. "I'm home!" she announced.

She glanced into the kitchen to see a tense Luna sitting on the kitchen table. Beside her was Shingo eating a doughnut. Both were staring intently at the television. "Where did you get the doughnut?"

Shingo pointed at the counter, where a box of donuts waited. She grabbed a doughnut and sat beside her brother and cat. "Why are you watching the news?" the blonde asked, the question more for Luna than Shingo.

"Quiet!" Shingo snapped.

Usagi narrowed her eyes but opted to say nothing in response. She looked to the television screen. "Here is footage from last night," the newscaster said.

The screen showed a picture of a banks and a car nearby. "I know that bank!" Usagi exclaimed. "That's the one about four blocks from here!" Shingo shushed her again before turning back to the screen.

What happened next was almost sudden. A lone girl dashed towards the building, blonde streaks flowing behind her. She kicked at the door and dashed inside the building. A one moment later, the girl returned, carrying a heavy sack behind her. She turned towards the building, threw something, and the building burst in flames. She tried to open the nearby car's door and when that failed, she broke the window and opened the door. She turned towards the camera and threw something at it. The picture turned black.

The newscaster's face returned. "This marks the third time that the notorious 'Sailor Moon' has stricken. The police have yet to recover the funds and the stolen cars. The mayor has scheduled a press conference to discuss what is being done to stop her. Next, how safe is your money? Tips on how to keep thieves away when we come back."

The color drained from Usagi's face. She saw it but she couldn't believe it. She stared at the screen, unmoving.

"Yeah, right!" Shingo scoffed. He grabbed the remote and turned off the television. "Sailor Moon saves everyone! No way she'd steal from a bank! What do you think, Usagi?" Usagi continued to stare at the television. He nudged her to break her out of her trance. "Usagi!"

Usagi shook her head and stood up quickly. "I'm going upstairs," she mumbled. She walked out of the kitchen. Luna jumped from the table and followed close behind.

Once she was in the safety of her room, the blonde let her tears freely fall. "I-I didn't do it, Luna," she cried. "I didn't take the money or the car! I swear!"

"I know," the black kitten said, jumping on the bed. "Whoever did it made a fatal flaw. You're fourteen. You don't know how to drive."

"But everyone else doesn't know that!" Usagi cried. "I'm a wanted criminal now!"

"Calm down, Usagi," Luna said with a sigh. "We'll get to the bottom of this. I promise. In the meantime, you can't let this get to you, okay? Remember your mission."

Usagi wiped away her tears and managed a nod. "Okay, Luna."

Luna smiled. "Everything will be okay."

The next day was a quiet one, save the numerous articles that carried information about the "Notorious Sailor Moon". Usagi managed to get through the school day and made it to the Crown Arcade without seeing or hearing too much of her new reputation but she still could not rid herself of the ache in the pit of in her stomach.

She sat at the counter and ran a hand through her hair. "A chocolate milkshake, please, Motoki," she said with a sigh.

"Tough day?" a voice beside her asked.

She looked beside to see the man that helped her the day before. "Chiba-san!" she exclaimed. The ache suddenly disappeared. "What are you doing here?"

"We seem to have a mutual friend," he said, pointing to the kitchen. "Did you find your cat?"

Usagi nodded. "The call was from my friend," she lied smoothly. "She brought Luna to my house."

Mamoru smiled a beautiful smile, making Usagi feel a bit bad about lying. "I'm glad."

Usagi nodded. The two sat in silence for a moment. Mamoru cleared his throat. "So did you hear about Sailor Moon?"

Usagi groaned. She sighed. "Could we talk about something else?"

Mamoru frowned but shrugged. "Okay. How did school go today?" Usagi groaned again, eliciting a laugh from Mamoru. "How about you choose what we talk about."

"Well," Usagi thought for a second. "Let's talk about us."

Mamoru raised an eyebrow. "Us?"

"Yeah! We can, you know, get to know each other better. Where do you go to school?"

"I'm in college," Mamoru said. "I'm studying to be a doctor."

Usagi frowned. "You're old enough for college?"

"I graduated early," he explained. "I'm seventeen."

"I'm fourteen," Usagi said. "I go to Juuban Middle School."

"Juuban Middle School? Do you know a teacher named Haruna?"

Usagi made a face. "I know her."

"How is she?"

"Still bitter. Still single. Still taking it out on innocent students."

Mamoru laughed. "That's Haruna, all right. She means well, though."

Usagi raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms. "Do you seriously think that?"

"I giving her the benefit of the doubt," Mamoru said with a smile.

Motoki walked through the doors of the kitchen and to the counter. "A chocolate milkshake for you," he placed a large glass in front of Usagi. "And a black coffee for you," he placed a small tea cup in front of Mamoru.

Usagi made a face. "Black coffee? Really?"

Mamoru took a sip. "It's delicious. Want a sip?"

"Never! Want some of my milkshake?"

"Actually, yes, I do. Thanks."

Usagi took a long sip of the milkshake and smiled mischievously. "That's too bad."

"What? Why'd you offer it?"

The two laughed. They continued to talk and enjoy their drinks. With Mamoru's help, she momentarily forgot about her troubles. That is, until her communicator played its horrible tune. She smiled faded.

"Your phone again? You should really change your ringtone." Mamoru asked.

"I have to go." She stood and gathered her things.

"Wait," Mamoru grabbed her hand with his. "We should meet again sometime."

Usagi smiled and nodded. "We should." The communicator rang again. "Let's meet back here tomorrow." She grabbed her bag and rushed out of the arcade.

And that's the chapter! The seeds have been planted! Expect lots of action and drama in the next chapter. And I'd love your opinion. How soon should Usagi and Mamoru get together? In the next chapter? The chapter after that?

Anyways, love it? Hate it? Can you guess which series the title is from? Tell me in a review!
