It was a precarious situation and the group was tense. You looked around at the troopers. Even though they all had their blue and white armor on, their postures were stiff. The group had just carefully and slowly moved through a minefield. The troopers who were scanning for mines, Fives and Jesse, seemed confident that there were no more mines.

You saw what appeared to be another narrow path off to the side, running parallel to this wider one. "They might have used this path to go around the mines they planted," you pointed out. You took a couple steps towards it, not planning to go down it, but just to see it better. The sun was almost set and the fog was rolling in.

Next to you, Fives had his scanner out and was concentrating on it. He must've seen you move in his peripheral vision and his hand shot out, grabbing your arm.

"Just wait a minute, baby," he replied in a frustrated tone, and tugged you back behind him.

If he had said anything else, you would've snapped back at him, stating that you knew not to go further; however, you didn't even think he caught on to what had slipped from his mouth.

The other men sure did.

You could feel the others' stares, even behind their helmets. Your eyes stayed rooted to the ground in front of Fives. Because the way he called you 'baby' was obvious it wasn't one of his teasing pet names that even the others sometimes called you. It was, without a doubt, a name he called you when you two were alone sharing private moments.

"Okay, we're all clear down the main path," Fives announced, putting his scanner away and turning to the rest of the group. "We can move forward."

"Alright," Rex nodded and took the lead. "Let's go."

The men started to move forward, and as Hardcase passed Fives, he playfully bumped his shoulder. "Yeah, let's go, baby."

Fives watched him before looking in your direction, whether he realized what he said or if he was still confused was unclear. A slight grin formed on your lips and you patted his chest plate before following the others.
