This is just a sneak peek chapter of a story I will create. It takes place after Justice League Warcraft: The Beginning. I thought Saurfang would be perfect as the Spectre. Enjoy!
Varok Saurfang opens his eyes to see him in a strange forest all by himself.
"Where... am I?" He asks himself.
He looks around to see no one or animals in that matter. He sees a path and decides to walk down on it. As he walks, he remembers what happened before ending up here. He challenged Sylvannas to Mak'gora. He got the Horde to see what she really is. He remembered he died after getting blasted by her. He thoughts are interrupted when a voice called his name.
"Varok Saurfang!" The voice said.
He turns around to see a strange man walking up to him.
"Who are you?" Saurfang asked.
"My name is Jim Corrigan. I was once a police detective, a hero to my people. When I died, I was called to a higher purpose. I became someone else, something else, a Spectre." Jim said, then his eyes glowed green.
"What do you want from me?" Saurfang asked, knowing he has nothing.
"Your story does not end here, this... is just the beginning. It's time for you to fulfill your destiny." Jim said to him.
"What is my destiny?" Saurfang asked, starting to feel annoyed by him.
"Only you can help your friends and the Justice League win this battle against Sylvannas and her master." Jim said.
"How?" He asked him.
"Come with me... and I'll show you." Jim said holding out his hand. Saurfang looks at it and up at him for a moment. If he could still stop the Banshee, he would do it, no matter what it takes. He then takes his hand and in flash, they were gone.
They ended up at a beach where a campfire was. The flame turns green. Saurfang looks up at Jim as his eyes glowed green. Next thing he knew, his outfit changed. His outfit was now green and he was wearing a green hooded cloak. From that moment, he became the Spectre, the Spirit of Vengeance. He turns around looking at the sea.
"The Horde... the Alliance, everyone who has suffered from the Banshee... they will... have... Vengeance." Saurfang said as he eyes glowed green.
Saurfang was sitting by the campfire, in deep meditation. As he was, memories of his past flashed in his mind. Seeing his entire life until the end. He opens his eyes as they glowed green.
Sitting in front of him was Jim. They were still in this pocket dimension.
"Tell me... what did you see?" Jim asked.
"Everything... I see everything now." Saurfang answered.
"Good. Then you are ready." Jim said.
"Why would you let me see all that? To relive all that?" Saurfang asked.
"Because everything you did, every war you lead, every battle, every fight, has lead you to this moment. To the ultimate fight." Jim said.
"Who am I fighting?" Saurfang asked.
"Not who. What. The Jailer." Jim said. They get up and walk down the beach.
"Sylvannas' Master." Saurfang said.
"He's more than that. He is pure evil. Death itself. From the depths of the Maw in the Shadowlands. If he escapes the Shadowlands, he will bring death to everyone on Earth." Jim explained.
"How do I stop him?" Saurfang asked.
"With help. It's time for you to help your friends." Jim said as they walk.
Meanwhile in Stormwind's castle, members of the Alliance, Horde, and Justice League were discussing what to do now that Sylvannas broke the barrier between this world and the Shadowlands. King Anduin was kidnapped and brought to the Shadowlands. Greymane, Jaina, Neltharion, Thrall, Baine, Barry, Oliver, Kara, Sara, J'onn, Jefferson, Kate, Clark, Flasheart, Dig, and Rokhan gather around in the throne room.
"What do we do now?" Flasheart asks.
"We have to save our king." Greymane said.
"Not just king, but our friend." Kara said.
"I agree with Kara." Jaina said.
"But what about Sylvannas?" Baine asked.
"It's only a matter of time before Sylannas and her master comes through the breach." Neltharion said.
"Yes, no doubt about it that she will have new friends on that side." Sara said.
"Who knows what damage and chaos she'll cause." J'onn said.
"Oliver, what do you think? Since you're our leader." Jefferson said to the archer.
Oliver was in deep thought on what to do. Before Sylvannas was corrupted, she and him were best friends, before the Prince took his friend away and changed her into a monster. He once tried to get her to give up the madness, but she wouldn't.
"Then we have no choice... we have go into the Shadowlands." Oliver said.
"Are you sure?" Barry asked his friend.
"Yes. We will take the fight to them." Oliver said.
"Sounds a little suicide, don't you think?" Dig asked him.
"This is crazy! Who knows what is on the other side?" Rokhan said.
"I agree with my brother. We will be in unknown lands in that Relam." Thrall said.
"Yes, it is crazy, but what choice do we have?" Kate said.
"Oliver is right."
They turn around and in shock and surprised. They see Varok Saurfang alive! Dressed in all green with a green hooded cloak. He stood there with a calm and serious look on his face.
"Going into the Shadowlands is the only way to save Anduin and stop Sylvannas." Saurfang said.
"Saurfang?" Oliver said.
"Yes and no. It's complicated." Saurfang said.
"Cool outfit by the way." Kate said.
"H-H-How is this even possible?" Baine said shocked to see his friend alive.
"Is it really you, brother?" Thrall asked.
"I am Saurfang, but I'm more than that." Saurfang replied.
"More of what?" Thrall asked.
"Some would consider me a ghost. A Spirit of Vengeance. After I died, I was called to a higher purpose. I became someone else, something else, a Spectre. Tuned with the Multiverse and Relams of our world." Saurfang said.
"So... are you here to help us?" Flasheart asked.
"Yes I am. However, there is only so much I can do for you. I can get you guys into the Shadowlands, but you all will have to do the rest." Saurfang explained.
"Fine with me. I'm all in." Neltharion said.
"Do you know who is Sylvannas' Master is, Saurfang?" Oliver asked.
"Yes. He is called the Jailer. A evil death being who was locked away in the depths of the Maw in the Shadowlands. Unfortunately, Sylvannas found a way to break him free." Saurfang informed them.
"If he's free, why hasn't he attacked our world?" Clark asked.
"Though he may be free, he still can't break through the barrier between our worlds. It won't take long for him to find a way to escape, which we must stop." Saurfang said.
"We will. But what I don't understand is... why take Anduin?" Jaina asked the Spirit.
"I... unfortunately don't know. But I do knowis that he needs him for a special reason." Saurfang said.
"Then we'll make sure he is stopped." Baine said as he pounded him fists together. Thrall walks up to Saurfang. It was truly him. Not some illusion or trick, but really his old friend.
"You can get us there?" Thrall asked.
"Yes. Do you trust me?" Saurfang answered.
"With all of my heart and spirit." Thrall answered.
"Good. Now... here... we... GO!" Saurfang said as he opens up a breach. They all go inside and the portal closes.
I will continue this as soon as I finish Justice League Warcraft: The Beginning story. Until next time! *Waves goodbye*
