It was a bright sunny day in the spring before Kurt and Blaine were heading off to Kindergarten. They were playing with a few other friends on the grass beneath a large tree in Ms. Fairy's play yard.

"You know what I think's silly?" Santana asked everyone as she absent-mindedly plucked out a few tufts of grass.

A few of them muttered, "What?"

"Gettin' married. Mommy says 'm 'posed to marry a boy, but I think boys is icky."

"Well, my daddy says I'm 'posed to marry a girl, but I think girls are icky," Nick shot back.

Kurt and Blaine looked at each other and blinked. They had both recently had a conversation with their parents about this during a playdate.

Kurt said, "My mommy and daddy telled me I can marry a girl or boy. They jus' want me happy."

"Mine, too," Blaine agreed. "An' I don't think I wanna marry girls. Just a boy." He glanced up a Kurt swiftly before lowering his gaze, a smile on his face.

"You're gonna marry Kurt," Brittany said like it was a fact. "I know it, 'cuz you holds hands."

Neither of them said anything, but Jeff, Nick, Santana, Brittany, and Elliot could all see them smiling at each other.

"I think you should get married now," Santana declared. "Right now by this tree."

"Who?" Kurt asked, pretending to be confused. He couldn't keep himself from glancing at Blaine, though. He did wanna marry Blaine, and now seemed like a good time.

"You and Bwainers!" Brittany yelled, jumping up. "You do it!" She did a little happy dance, spinning around and clapping her hands.

"My Bwainers?" Kurt asked. "Wan' to?"

Blaine nodded shyly, standing as Kurt rose from the ground, too. "I marry you."

Everyone in their little group hooted and hollered, delighted at the sudden turn of events that afternoon.

"Who's gonna be maid of honor?" Santana asked excitedly. "Pick me! Pick me! I c'n do it!"

"Well, we needs two," Blaine pointed out. "Two grooms."

"Grooms don't have maid of honor," Jeff interrupted. "Grooms have bestest mans!"

"How about both?" Kurt suggested. "Maid of honor and bestest man?"

"I c'n do the marryin'," Elliot said quietly. "I c'n say, 'I now 'nounce you man an' man. You c'n—"

"It's husband 'n' husband," Brittany interrupted him. "Cuz if I married my Tana, we be wifes."

"'kay… I c'n do it," Elliot insisted. "C'n I be the marrier, Kurt?" he asked softly.

Kurt nodded. "Of course! Nick c'n be my bestest man, an' Tana c'n be my maid of honor."

"I get Jeff an' Britt, then," Blaine said with a grin. Then, he turned to look at Elliot. "Whatta we do now?"

"Um, stand over here 'n' hold hands," Elliot instructed, backing up so his back was almost against the tree and gesturing to the area in front of him.

Blaine jogged off to the side and picked a few dandelions, coming back and handing the few flowers to Kurt. Jeff, Nick, Britt, and Santana took their places on either side of the boys, who stood in the middle, holding hands.

Elliot cleared his throat. "We comed today to marry Kurt an' Blaine. Wanna say vows?"

Blaine nodded, going first. "My Kurt, you is my bestest friend, an' I wanna live with you f'ever an' have babies with you. I think you're fun to play with, and I wanna be your friend for always. Love you."

Kurt smiled wide. "My Bwainers, you is my bestest friend, too, an' I think livin' with you f'ever would be pretty awesome. We c'n have lottsa babies and play lottsa games. I wanna be your friend for always. Love you, too."

"You can kiss now," Elliot announced.

Without hesitation, Kurt and Blaine leaned in, their lips touching for just a moment, yet it was a moment that would be forever stuck in time. A tiny spark passed between them, a spark that neither of them could describe, yet both of them knew they wanted to feel it again. They pulled back and stared at one another with wide eyes for a moment before all their friends started cheering and clapping.

"I now 'nounce you husband 'n' husband!"

And because they were feeling a little shy and like something had changed for the better between them, the two little boys fell into a tight hug, never wanting to let go of one another.

It was a bright sunny day in the spring before Kurt and Blaine were heading off to their senior year of college. They stood with a few other friends on the grass beneath a large tree in Ms. Fabray's play yard. Kurt held a bouquet of yellow hydrangea blossoms because they looked the most like dandelions, he thought. He and Blaine were holding hands between them, and Nick, Jeff, Santana, and Brittany stood on either side of them, one best man and one maid of honor each.

Elliot cleared his throat, looking out at the gathered crowd. "For some reason, this scene looks awfully familiar." He chuckled along with the rest of them. "I'll try to do better than I did back then. We have gathered here today to celebrate with one of our favorite couples, Kurt and Blaine, and to witness their beautiful commitment to one another in marriage. The grooms would like to say a few words."

Blaine took a deep breath before going first. "My Kurt, you are my best friend. You have been for all my life, and I can't imagine how incredibly blessed I've been to have found you when I was two. From the first moment I saw you, from that first minute you offered me a doll, I was yours forever—body, mind, and soul. I was immediately disillusioned with any other man, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you, and I promise to treat you each day like you are the precious gift that you are to me. I'm yours forever, and I love you so much with my whole heart."

Kurt had to wipe a few tears from his face, and he had to swallow back the lump in his throat before he could speak. "My Blainers, you are my best friend, too. You've been the biggest part of my life since I was a tiny little boy, since your big sad eyes and your adorable curly hair walked into daycare, and I know I am so lucky to have found you then. That day, I gave you my entire self, and there has never been a day since that I've wanted it back. I cannot wait to spend forever with you like we always promised, and I vow to treat you each day with all the love the man of my heart deserves. I'm yours forever, and I love you so much with my entire being."

After that, they exchanged rings. Kurt's was a simple silver band with an inlaid heart of honey brown, and Blaine's was a simple silver band with an inlaid heart of sky blue. As they slipped the rings onto one another's fingers, they said together, "Let this ring be to you a sign of my undying love and devotion. Let it remind you each day that I love and cherish you through all the ups and downs that life may throw our way. From now until death may part us, you are mine, and I am yours."

There was not a dry eye in the place as Elliot said, "By the power vested in me by Universal Life Church and the state of Ohio, I now pronounce you man and man, husband and husband. You may kiss."

And just like so many years before, without hesitation, the boys leaned in and pressed their lips tougher, this time for much longer. And unlike that first time, when they felt that spark and the air shift, they could describe what they were feeling. They knew what was new and different between them, and it was everything they had dreamed of since they were two years old.

When they pulled back from the kiss, they smiled at each other and then fell into each other's embrace, content to hold one another close and revel in the fresh and familiar love-filled air between them as their friends and family cheered for them, never wanting to let go of one another.
