Marinette's face was against Chat as the two of them felt like they were flying across the city. She wanted to watch where they were going, but the wind blowing straight into her eyes made that impurractical. It felt like they hadn't been traveling very long when he seemed to stop moving.

"We're here," he told her with a bright smile on his face. He retracted his baton and attached it back to his suit. With her arms still looped around his neck, she raised her head and began to look around them. The first thing that she noticed was the blanket in front of them. It was set out like a picnic blanket and it looked incredibly soft.

There were candles in the center of the blanket and Marinette had a momentary heart attack before she realized that they were fake candles. The wind gently blew around them and Marinette could feel her heart pounding in her chest. He kissed her cheek briefly.

"I'm going to grab dinner," he told her, "I'll be back in just a minute, my love." Marinette felt her face heat. He had called her a lot of things over the years they'd known each other, but being his 'love' felt different than anything he'd called her in the past. She unlooped her arms from his neck and he took his hand off her waist.

He bounded from the roof and she watched him disappear around a corner. She sat down on the blanket, next to one of the pillows and started looking around. She could easily see the spot on the Eiffel Tower where they would usually meet for patrol and she couldn't help but start thinking about the life her partner lived behind his mask.

She had seen him come from this direction whenever she got to their meeting point before him and she always assumed he lived in this direction from the tower, but it was starting to look like he might have spent time just on this rooftop. She saw that in addition to the blanket and pillows, it looked like there were a few notebooks over to the side.

This space was clearly his and she found herself wondering if she was invading the space he'd made his own. He had invited her, though. She didn't just show up without his purrmission. If Ladybug had started showing up here, that would probably be invasive, but he wouldn't have taken Marinette to his place if he didn't want her to be there.

She was so distracted thinking about Chat's willingness to open up to her that she hadn't even noticed him returning to the rooftop until he spoke. "I'm back," Chat announced upon his return. He landed behind her, boots practically slamming onto the rooftop directly behind her.

"Sacre Cœur!" Marinette called out, obviously surprised by his reappearance. She used a hand to cover her once again racing heart. He couldn't help but chuckle at her exclamation. He didn't hear her swear often and while she'd called out "sacre bleu," a few times in surprise, calling out the monument was definitely new to him.

"I was Triomphant," he told her with a bright smile on his face as he walked around her. He moved in front of her and sat down on the blanket, placing their food between them. "I've acquired dinner, and I'm pretty sure that no one suspects that we're even up here. What has you so jumpy, though?"

"Nothing," she replied nervously. "I was just cat up in my thoughts." She started opening the food and handed him one of the containers to open. "This rooftop is nice, I guess that was what I was mainly thinking about. I think that it's cute and I'm just glad that you took me here. I Louvre it."

"I Louvre you," he responded, placing the container between the two of them. They each served themselves some of the food while they talked, but neither of them were wanting to spend their evening together just eating. That was the same thing they did most of the time when he came over to her place and it felt the same as usual.

Once they were both full, Chat tossed the pillows to one end of the blanket. "Come lay down with me and look at the stars?" he suggested. Marinette smiled and she was happy to oblige. He laid down first and she curled up to him, resting her head on his shoulder, despite there being a pillow for her just a few centimeters away.

She took his hand in hers and enjoyed laying with him for a while.

"Truth or dare?" he asked suddenly. It wasn't a bad question, but she wasn't expecting it. She thought for a short while , debating what he could possibly ask from her. She pursed her lips and considered which answer to give him.

"Truth," she answered confidently after a few moments.

"What's something that most people don't know about you?" She knew the easy answer would be to tell him that she was Ladybug, but she also knew that she wasn't ready to reveal that to him, yet. She was getting closer to being ready, but she knew that she wasn't, yet.

"I'm purretty sure that I'm better at walking backwards than I am at walking forwards. I trip over myself all the time when I'm walking around, but I've never fallen while walking backwards, even though it's something I do pretty often."

"That's adorable," he informed her. She could hear the smiled in his voice and she couldn't help the blush that spread across her cheeks once again. "You don't have to worry, though, I'll do my best to be around to catch you when you fall." She knew that he would, he was her partner and he loved her.

"Truth or dare?" She squeezed his hand gently.

"Dare," he decided with almost no time to think."

"I trocedare you to lend me your jacket." She sat up slightly and he followed her lead so that he could remove the jacket and give it to his girlfriend. He knew that it was Agreste branded, but he was mostly hoping she wouldn't give it too much thought. She never tried to figure out his identity, he didn't know why she would start now.

"I can't believe I'm not warm enough for you," he half joked as he handed the jacket to Marinette. She didn;t even look at the inside of it before she put it on. It was huge on her and he couldn't help but to think about how cute she was in it. He layed back down and she followed suit.

"Truth or dare?"

"Dare," she chose that time. A smile spread on his lips as he thought about what he could choose for her.

"I dare you to make puns at work this week," he told her. "It can be just in front of Adrien or something, it doesn't have to be in front of anyone important, but at least… three. I dare you to make at least three puns at work this week."

"And how will you know if I do?" she teased.

"I guess I just trust you, princess," he responded confidently. He kissed the top of her head and she nodded in agreement.

"Deal. Truth or dare?" He chose truth and Marinette spent some time thinking about what to ask him. She didn't want to overstep, but she loved learning what she could about him. "What's something that most people don't know about you? Either as a hero or a civilian. Not something that will give away who you are, but just… something." He felt the movement of her shrugging her shoulders against him.

"It's kind of complicated. Are you sure you want to know?" He felt the movement of her nodding. He held her a little tighter. "I've tried to give up being Chat Noir a few times," he admitted nervously. "The last time I tried, I gave Ladybug my ring and I was certain I wouldn't be a hero again. I fell into a pretty bad depression, for that reason and civilian reasons."

He took a deep breath and she gave him a gentle squeeze, knowing how much he appreciated the affirming touch. "Apparently, Plagg told Ladybug that there was a different person who almost got my ring, but it was just me. Plagg and I spent hours turning me into a completely different hero and I became 'Cat Walker' for a day in hopes of being Ladybug's purrfect partner."

She didn't know what answer she had been expecting, but it definitely wasn't that. She squeezed him a little bit tighter. She knew she couldn't tell him her identity in response to that admission, but she wanted to. She took a deep breath and knew she had to start opening up to him more, no matter how terrified she was. He spoke again, "truth or dare?"

"Truth," she chose again. It was probably the safer option and in all honesty, he didn't really have another dare in mind if she had chosen that one instead. A few questions bounced around his head, but his brain kept coming back to one.

"Who was Buttercup?" Marinette wasn't ready for that question. She wondered why Chat asked that, but she figured that if he wasn't okay with knowing, he wouldn't have asked in the first place. She took a breath and bit her lip.

"Adrien Agreste," Marinette admitted. She could hear Chat's heart speed up and she was immediately embarrassed by her admittance. "And I know it's weird because now we work together, but there's nothing to worry about. I love you and nothing is going to happen between me and Adrien, except for the fact that now I need to make a few puns at him this week."

"It's okay, princess," he said when he could find his voice again, "I trust you. I don't think you're going to cheat on me or anything. Plus, doesn't he know you're seeing someone. He doesn't seem like the type who would want you to cheat on your boyfriend. Never really struck me as that type."

Marinette wondered, offhandedly, how well Chat knew Adrien, but she also knew she shouldn't ask details about that. "I love you," she told him with a smile on her face. "Truth or dare, minou?" She was idly playing with his fingers intertwined with hers.

"Truth, I think." She didn't know what to ask. She still didn't want to step into identity territory and she didn't know what to ask to avoid doing that.

"I don't know how to avoid identity information, so I'm just gonna ask you to tell me something I don't know about you, if that's okay. I can try to come up with a question if you really want, but I really, really don't want to accidentally overstep."

"It's fine, my love," he assured before he started thinking. "Okay, no identities or anything, but let's go with when Eiffel for you. Dough you remember when you kneaded my help with baking? We made so many puns and you told me about your day. You started telling me about the puns you were thinking of when you were with your friends."

"You were blaming me for the puns, but you had the biggest, most beautiful smile on your face while you chatstised me. I realized that day how purrfect you were for me. I had a crush on you befur that, but I didn't realize before that just how much I wanted to be with you as much as I could." She wasn't expecting this admission from him either.

She leaned up and gave him a soft kiss, finding herself falling even more in love with him than she was before.
