Marinette knew that Chat said he was going to be busy the next day. That knowledge didn;t make her feel any less bored, though. She said that she would start working with him on figuring out Monarch's identity, so she decided that she shouldn't try doing more of that research on her own.

'I know that you're not Chloé's biggest fan, but she's wanting to surprise Kagami at the zoo for her birthday today and I'm sure Kagami would like it if you could be there. Let me know if you can make it!'

The text from Adrien came through close to noon and she couldn't help the smile on her face when she read it. Marinette knew that Chloé was better now that she was seeing Kagami, but Adrien was definitely right that Marinette still wasn't her biggest fan. She still agreed to go to the zoo to see her friends.

Adrien sent her information about where to go and she was surprised to see that Chloé had gone above and beyond to surprise her girlfriend. Chloé had managed to essentially rent out the entire zoo and Adrien was in charge of inviting people that he knew Kagami got along well with, knowing people would be more likely to accept his invite than Chloé's.

During the entire day that Adrien was spending with his pseudo-sister and her girlfriend, he was thinking of puns. He was hopeful that he would be able to share animal puns with Marinette that night without it being suspicious. Marinette ended up having a nice time with her friends that day and took plenty of pictures.

She ended up hanging out with Adrien a lot that day. She felt a little embarrassed because she was wishing that she knew her boyfriend's identity so that she could have invited him and spent the day with him instead of Adrien. She knew he said he was busy, but she still wished he could've been there.

She had a great time with her friends, but she left soon before dinner. Everyone who was there was invited to dinner with Kagami, but most people already had plans. By the end, it was just going to be Adrien, Chloé, and Kagami. He ended up opting out of dinner as well, feeling like he would've been third wheeling a date.

Marinette went home and decided to sit out on her balcony to wait for her boyfriend. She was surprised when he showed up after just a few minutes of her sitting outside. After what he said yesterday, she expected that he wouldn't be over until closer to 22h00, not just after 18h00 like it was.

"How was your day, my love?" he asked when he took the seat next to her. He leaned over and gave her a quick kiss on her cheek, causing her face to pink a little bit.

"It was nice," she answered, "I went to the zoo for Kagami's birthday. Apparently, Chloé managed to make it so that only we could be in the zoo this afternoon. It was a nice idea, but it was a lot for her to do. Honestly, it was kind of…"

"Otterly ridiculous," the two of them said in unison. She felt her heart race at the fact that the two of them came up with the same silly pun. She smiled at her boyfriend and picked up her phone to show him a picture of her with an otter she'd taken while at the zoo earlier. She held up the phone and he looked at the picture, smile huge even though it wasn't his first time seeing it.

"You really are adorabull," he told her as she began swiping through the pictures. "I can bearly believe how cute you are." She rolled her eyes and giggled at her boyfriend's compliment.

"You can't beelieve it?" she offered. "Owlmost like it's impossumble? I, for one, can turtley accept just how cute you are, my knight. If you can't, though, I'll just accept that. Whatever floats your goat, after all."

"Oh whale," he replied. "I suppose it would be irrelephant to use all of the koalaty time that we're spending together just talking about how punderful I think you are. On the other hand, though I ducking love you and can happily spend all my time talking about how great you are." Marinette pursed her lips to try to resist the blush that she could feel heating up her face.

"For fox sake," she mumbled, "why are you like this?" She jokingly rubbed her temple with her fingers to pretend to stave off a headache. He leaned up to give her forehead a kiss.

"You still have a mice time with me, even when you're pretending to be tired of me," he accused. He watched her lips curl into a smile and they both knew that he was right, even if she wasn't going to say so.

"I see that you're doging my question," she teased. He reacted like Marinette just shot him through the heart, bringing the back of his hand up to his forehead as though he were feeling faint.

"Betrayed, at the hand of my own girlfriend. You've got to be squidding me, Marinette. You can't use a dog pun on your cat themed boyfriend. You'll break my heart." She laughed again and leaned up to give him a gentle kiss.

"Pawlease furgive me for hounding you with such a repugnant joke," she teased and Chat acted like the dog puns were going to be the death of him. "You mutter a lot to me, minou and I woof hate to upset you just because I went barking up the wrong tree."

"Marinette, I need to know how long you've been sitting on these dog puns."

"I've been a ball of energy waiting to use them since before we started dating," she admitted, "I'm pretty sure that fetching your heart would have been a lot ruffer for me if I had started using them sooner. Now, though, I'm hoping that I can still howld onto the corgkey to your heart, even though you might need to keep my jokes on a shorter leash from now on."

His jaw dropped and she took it as a chance to keep talking. "If I have broken your heart, though, I'm sure I can take you to a dogtor later. Maybe they'd be able to help you out of this great danegerous situation that I've put you in. Although, I'm still pretty sure that I've still tickled your funnybone even though you're pretending that I haven't."

"Try to maintain some dognity, princess. These puns are a mastiff waste of time and the fact that you've been ready with these puns for months is mindbeagleing to me. These have been the worst puns I've ever heard. Of the whole world's pupulation, I don't understand how my own girlfriend would want to hurt me with dog puns."

"If you get to lovingly bully me, I get to lovingly bully you sometimes. I'm pretty sure you're the one who said it's a love language," she told him.
