Chat hadn't brought up the idea of revealing his identity in a few days. She wasn't concerned by that fact, but she was definitely surprised by it. After how ready he was to reveal his identity after finding out about her Monarch information, she expected he'd still want to tell her.
She was reaching the end of her internship and was still no closer to concrete evidence about if Gabriel was their local terrorist or not. She was starting to give up on finding out that summer, but she still had a nice time hanging out with Adrien. He was still her friend and she liked that they worked together.
When she got home one day, she went up to her room to change into comfier clothing before Chat came over. When she got upstairs, though, she was surprised to see that there was a gorgeous bouquet of white and red roses in a vase. Leaning against the vase, there was an envelope with the word 'Marinette.'
She walked over to it and picked up the envelope. When she opened it, there was a handwritten letter inside. The writing looked almost familiar, but she couldn't quite figure out where she'd seen it before.
'Princess,' the letter read.
'I know it must seem like I've been purrcrastinating the reveal, but my plan is finally ready. I hope you don't mind that this reveal is going to be kind of eggstra. I'll be sure to try to keep this letter as short as possible so that it won't be too painful for you. I can hardly believe I've been dating someone as wonderful as you for months, spending qualitea time with you has become my favorite thing to do recently.
I can also barely believe that I used baking as a catalyst to finally confess my feelings for you. All it took was some (admittedly) pretty bad pick-up limes. Some days, I doughn't understand why you decided to give me a chance and I'm certain I'll spend the rest of my life ketching up to that level of understanding.
Spending time with you is one of my favorite things to do- whether I get to be with you as Chat or as myself. Listening to mewsic, talking, joking around, falling for you every day, doing anything with you. I hope that this feeling isn't punrequited, because you're my favorite person and I loaf you. (Love, not loathe)
I can barely believe I've been offishially dating the girl of my dreams for three months already. She's the most tailented person I've ever met and she makes me so inseinely happy, I didn't even think it was possible for the smile on my face to be this permanent. I'm so happy that I decided to take a whisk in telling her my feelings… even though I ended up telling her that she talked me into confessing in the first place.
She's the most brewtiful, kind, loving, and furmidable person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. When I spend time with her, I really feel like there's nothing toulouse because I know that I'll have her in my heart for the rest of my life, even if we break up or something and just become pin pals for a while. I'll just be happy to have the best person I know in my life.
Olive you, Marinette. Spending the last few months dating you has been meowvelous. Eiffel for you twice, not that I should be surprised by that fact. Muffin can compare to how you make me feel and the amount of joy you bring me on a regular basis. I've never met anyone who I find half as appealing as I find you.
I hope that the idea of learning who I am is still appeeling to you. I think it would be pretty pawsome to be in your life more than I already am and I can finally take you, my love, on a date you deserve. We can taco bout it once you find out who I am, though.
Sew what? How am I going to reveal myself to you. Well, I have a pearfect plan, but you need to finish reading this letter before you start because not following my plan might leave me hissterical and it would be otterly ridiculous if I'm standing here like that just because you couldn't follow directions.
Here's my plan:
Princess (that's you) opens the little box sitting next to the vase
Princess decides whether to accept the gift or not
Camembug (that's Plagg (or Tikki if Plagg is being lazy)) reports back to Coolest Cat (that's me!) whether Princess decided to accept the gift (and learn my identity) or refuse the gift (and gets to learn another time when she's feeling more ready)
Princess comes up to her balcony to find Coolest Cat (and maybe give him kisses?)
There's a reason Ladybug is the planner, but I hope my plan is acceptable at least. I'll see you soon, princess.
I love you,
Chat Minou Cheesy A. Noir'
Marinette flipped the page to make sure there were no other parts to the plan she was going to miss. When she felt confident about the plan's steps, she looked up toward the vase and saw the little box he mentioned in the letter.
She took a deep breath and opened the box. Inside of it, there was a gorgeous silver necklace. It had a small pendant of an umbrella and she felt her heart pounding in her chest. She was torn between thinking of the umbrella Adrien gave her the day they met and thinking of sharing Chat's umbrella the night she told him about Buttercup.
She looked up to where she saw movement. Plagg and Tikki were both watching her. She nodded silently and took a deep breath. Camembug went back through her roof to relay her reaction to the guy behind her minou's mask. She removed the necklace from the box and held it in her hand as she carried it up to her balcony.
When she got out there, she saw the very familiar suit jacket he wore when he took her to his spot overlooking the Eiffel Tower. He had his back to her as he tried to psych himself up to finally reveal his identity to his girlfriend. He took a deep breath and she could tell he was holding something as he turned toward her.
"In a perfect world, I would've been able to take you to a gala or something with a little more pazazz than this." Adrien Agreste was standing in front of her, holding an apple pie. "You asked for no grande gestures, but I'm hoping you wouldn't mind a granny gesture to help me tell you that you're the apple of my pie, Marinette."
"I'm sure anyone would be envyous of this,' she said with a smile, "it just so happens that I'm a bit of a winesap for all this jazz you planned for me, Adrien." Her voice seemed to catch momentarily as she seemed to register that it really was Adrien Agreste standing in front of her, revealing himself as the identity of her minou. "I fully and empirely love you."
"I love you too, my pink lady," he replied. It only took a few moments more for his girlfriend to lean in and meet him in a soft kiss.
Thank you all for joining me on this journey! I set up a spreadsheet to keep track of the puns I used in this fic! I used 427 unique puns and 550 total puns in this fic! I don't know if the link will work, but the spreadsheet's link is
