"I can't believe you talked me into playing this game," B'Elanna said.

"You? I can't believe the Captain agreed to it!" Tom replied as they walked towards the holodeck.

"I also can't believe that," she answered.

They walked into the holodeck to be greeted the senior staff and a few others. "Looks like everyone's here," Tom said.

"Yes," Captain Janeway replied, "I certainly hope this will be as entertaining as you said."

"Is that how he got you to agree to this, Captain?" B'Elanna asked.

"Actually, he told me that it's been pretty popular amongst the crew and has a team building aspect to it. Since this has been a pretty dull region of space, I figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a go. Tom, I think we're all ready to start."

Tom cleared his throat, "Ahem, right. So, the game is called "Among Us." It consists of a crew of up to 15 trying to complete certain tasks to win the game. However, up to 3 members can be impostors. Their goal is to sabotage certain systems as needed, and kill the crew to win the game. For the crew to win, they have to complete all their tasks before the impostors are able to kill all of the crew. As the game progresses, deaths can be reported, or meetings called to vote out anyone suspicious."

"Okay, seems pretty straightforward," Chakotay said, "but your message said we're going to play a slightly different variation of the game."

"Right, we're going to play Shift and Kill." Tom answered.

"Shift and Kill? Oh, sounds fun." B'Elanna said.

"The fact you think that sounds fun makes me very nervous." Harry said.

"Each character can be assigned a certain task, like scientist who can check vitals at anytime, engineer who can use vents, etcetera. Impostors can have the ability to shape-shift as well as use the vents. For this particular variation, impostors have to shape-shift into who they plan to kill and then kill them."

"That sounds really brutal," Sam piped up. The Captain nodded in agreement while watching Sam hold Naomi close to her.

"Yeah, kind of," Tom admitted, "it is surprisingly fun, though. But if you're not comfortable playing or letting Naomi play, that's fine."

Naomi's eyes went wide and she quickly turned to her mother, "No, Mom, please! Please, please, please, please, please! I never get to play games with the senior staff!" She looked to Seven who was raising an eyebrow, and Neelix who just looked on.

"Well, except for Seven and Neelix. But kadis kot doesn't count!" Naomi looked pleadingly as Sam relented.

"Okay," Tom said, "the game has a chat system, but for the sake of time, I've added an audio system. We all kind of need to be in our own space so that we don't give anything away to other players, that's why I've made these soundproof cubicles to play in. We'll all be able to hear each other when we're nearby in game, but anyone that dies will only be able to be heard by the impostors and others that die. I think we're about ready to start, but aside from the impostors having to shape-shift, there's no reporting, meetings, or sabotage allowed. Just try to get the tasks done. You'll be able to do them alive or dead. Let's get started."
