Denny found himself contemplating his decision while driving home, was she really a risk to his career? He could move to another hospital or open his own practice, Lord knows he has the money for it, but the thought of no longer being a surgeon was niggling at his mind, could he become a family practitioner? What about all those future heart transplants that he could operate on? What about all the lives he could save?

He sighed as he parked his car outside his apartment, he knew he wouldnt be able to give up his surgeries and he enjoyed working at the hospital so didnt like the idea of transferring.

Would he be able to keep his blossoming relationship with Izzie a secret? What repurcussions could she face if it came to light? There were so many unanswered questions that he found himself getting annoyed by his decision to test the waters with Izzie, annoyed with himself for liking her and annoyed that he took her to his car, 'Heated seats' What a lie that was, he just wanted to be alone with her, there was something about her, an invisible thread pulling him to her. But what if it didnt work out? What if they dated and it all ended terribly wrong? Is it worth the risk? To allow someone to see him, truly see him and risk having his mended heart broken?

Denny finally decided to phone his closest friend in the hospital to ask for advice on the issue

'Hey Bailey'

'Denny, boy you better be having a heart attack to be calling me at this time on my night off'

Denny chuckled and took a long breath before speaking

'You can take my interns if you want them? I think I'll be taking some risks if they remain with me'

He noted the silence on the call before Miranda finally spoke

'Ok, which one is it?'

Her voice was stern and skeptical, Denny smiled and shook his head

'I dont know what your talking about.. I'll see you tomorrow and give them to you, be nice, they have a lot of potential'

and with that he hung up, noticing his contact list he scrolled to Isobel Stevens and smiled, debating on whether he should send her a message to inform her or not.

Izzie had just finished showering when she heard her phone 'ping', she picked it up, noticing the unfamiliar number, she opened the message and face planted the bed in shock as she realised who the sender was.

She sat up to read it, smile evident on her face, she bit her lip debating on how best to reply.

'Hey Iz, I hope I havent woken you, just thought I'd let you know that you guys will be following Bailey from tomorrow onwards, she's nice and a really good teacher so you should get along fine.'

Izzie smiled, he didnt have to text her to let her know, he really didn't, she could have just found out like everyone else in the morning, she took a breath and began replying.

'Hey, I just got out of the shower so Im not sleeping yet. That was quick, yeah we should get along fine, I've heard she can be hard work with her interns though.. Im pretty sure I've heard the word 'Nazi' when referring to her.. haha.. but thank you for letting me know, goodnight.'

She layed back on the bed after sending the message and held her phone close to her chest, the butterflies floating inside her stomach were not that of discomfort or anxiety but of hope and desire.

Another ping on her phone made her heart jump from her chest, she opened it and blushed as she read the reply.

'Try not to kiss me tomorrow, Goodnight Iz.'

The urge to send a reply was overwhelming, but judging on the time and the 5am alarm she had set, she needed to sleep, she finished drying her hair and got into bed, smiling as she awaited the morning.
