Article I

Section IV

The Senate shall be granted the authority to create and sponsor inter-star system treaties.

The Senate shall be granted the authority to raise and levy taxation against individual planets, Star System Sectors, corporate and economic entities, trade routes, and hyperlane access points.

Section V

The Senate wields the supreme law-making authority with respect to law-enforcement across member planets, government sponsored star-stations, posts, or facilities. Creation of law-enforcement is within the power of the Senate, as well as direction of facilitation of said created agencies.

Section VI

The Senate wields the power to appoint ambassadors to non-member planets or star systems to represent the Galactic Republic.

The Senate wields the power to establish investigatory anti-criminal agencies or committees pertaining to the security and well-being of member planets or Star System Sectors. Said criminal justice agencies are to be supervised, facilitated, and managed by the Judicial Branch.

The Senate wields the authority to make amends to the admittance process for membership of the Galactic Republic. The approval process requires a two-thirds vote of the Senate and signature of the Supreme Chancellor.

Section VII

The Senate bears the responsibility and power to enforce security on all member planets and Star System Sectors of the Galactic Republic. The Senate may raise or allocate military forces whereas necessary with simple majority approval vote.

The Senate may raise or levy taxes on Star System Sectors or economic entities for the creation and sponsorship of a military force during times of war or crises.

Section VIII

No Senator or Representative shall take funds, credit, or any form of financial compensation in return for a vote or sponsorship on a resolution, legislation, or ceremonious decree. Senators and Representatives must disclose their finances at the start, midpoint, and end of each term they serve while in office for review by the Judicial Branch.
