Article II
Section I
The executive branch shall be vested in the Office of the Supreme Chancellor, to serve as head of state, head of government, and commander-in-chief of any standing military forces.
The Supreme Chancellor is to be elected among and from the Senators of the Galactic Senate for up to two terms of four years each.
Section II
The Supreme Chancellor shall recommend with approval by simple majority in the Senate, the time, place, and manner for any special election for their own office in the event of an upcoming vacancy. All Chancellery elections are to take place no more than four standard years from the swearing-in of the incumbent Supreme Chancellor.
The Supreme Chancellor bears the responsibility of guiding the agenda and session of the Senate in the absence of the Speaker.
Section III
The Speaker of the Senate is to be elected among and by the Senators in tandem with the Chancellery election.
The Speaker shall bear the responsibility of itemizing the Senate session agenda, and facilitating procedures, debates, and votes.
The Speaker bears the responsibility of establishing the full standard year of a Senate session.
Section IV
The Supreme Chancellor and Speaker of the Senate do not have the power to cast votes during any procedure in the Senate.
The Supreme Chancellor and Speaker are not allowed to vote during Chancellery elections.
The Supreme Chancellor may be recalled from office by a vote of no confidence by two-thirds supermajority of the full Senate.
The Supreme Chancellor may be impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors against galactic civilization with a trial established by a simple majority vote of the full Senate, facilitated by the Chief Justice of the Galactic Supreme Court, and may only be removed from office by a two-thirds supermajority vote by the full Senate.
The Senate shall bear responsibility in the timing and manner of an impeachment vote or vote of no confidence.
The Supreme Chancellor and Speaker may not receive any gifts, emoluments, or finances from any persons, states, political or economic entities, or otherwise.
Section V
No person shall be eligible to serve as Supreme Chancellor or Speaker of the Galactic Senate unless a citizen of a member star system of the Galactic Republic, and has reached their species' respective one-third age of life expectancy
In the case of the Supreme Chancellor's removal from office, incapacitation, disability, or death, the duties of said office shall fall to the Speaker of the Galactic Senate to complete the remainder of the term. The Speaker then becomes the acting Supreme Chancellor, and must promptly appoint a Speaker with advice and consent of the Senate.
Section VI
The member star systems of the Galactic Republic may form an office of chief executive for their respective star sector. Star sectors may elect their own chief executive among the legislators of their star sector or star system legislature. Sector chief executives may serve up to two terms of four years each, ineligible for reappointment, reelection, term extension, or other duly efforts to perpetuate the incumbent's tenure.
Sector chief executives shall be responsible for the enforcement and execution of Galactic Republic laws for their respective star sector.
Sector chief executives shall be commander in chief of their star system or star sector military forces, including special forces, in accordance to standards and expectations of the Government of the Galactic Republic.
