AN: MORE LUMITY BECAUSE S2 EPISODE 14 HAPPENED

Disclaimer: I do not own The Owl House.

"Amity?" Luz called out, reaching for her girlfriend's soft yet cold hand. "Is everything okay back home?"

Amity's eyes widened. Luz took that as a sign she shouldn't have asked yet.

"It's completely fine if you don't want to talk about it! I just, uh, noticed that your parents haven't exactly been the best to you!" Luz nervously got out.

"No, no, it's alright," Amity said, turning her head away from Luz. Her voice sounded a bit…strained?

Lux frowned.

"Are you alright?" Luz asked, looking worriedly at her sweet potato.

Amity sniffled.

"Oh god Amity, you're crying!" Luz brought her into a hug as she studied her girlfriend's face. Amity wasn't meeting her eyes…strange. There were tears rapidly flowing down her cheeks.

Amity tried to wipe them away. "Luz, it's fine, I'm alright."

"Amity…" Why was she lying? That too right after they had a discussion about honesty. "Please don't lie to me. You know you can tell me anything, right hermosa?"

Amity gave a faint smile as she hugged Luz back quite firmly, as if too afraid to let go.

"It's alright, you wanna talk about it?" Luz whispered softly.

Amity nodded hesitantly, but nodded all the same.

"Things weren't very…easy growing up. A Blight has to keep up that image or perfection and if I failed to do that…mother would…yell a lot and say…things to me. It's always a deal with her. I messed up a lot. She kept telling me to get better and she said some…unpleasant things. But then she took control over…everything. First my social life and then my hair color. I couldn't really do anything." Amity said slowly, avoiding Luz's eyes. "Father was always too far away. He never even noticed…I started blaming me, you know? Ed and Em were able to each up to their expectations but I was always too much of an imperfection. A Blight has to be perfect. Then Ed and Em became more intolerable. Their pranks were going too far and I just couldn't take it. I took my anger out on other students and…I messed up. Until I met you. A light in the dark. You let me be myself without hating me. You helped me take some control back. I was just so…empty back then."

Amity completed, too tired to say more.

"Amity, it'll be alright," Luz comforted, putting her arms around Amity's waist and just holding her as they leaned against the Grom tree. "I've got you."

Luz did not like Amity's mother. No one hurts her sweet potato like that.

Amity was finally able to let her guard down. She fell asleep soon, and Luz followed. They'd be there for each other, no matter what.
