Two months of the tour went by and everything was going great. The concerts, the meet and greet the commercials and ADs that Chat was in were a big hit. Though what Adrien cared about the most at that moment was his relationship with Marinette.
Adrien was aware that sometimes starting a relationship with someone, especially your best friend might feel awkward at first because you don't know how to act and it was slightly true between him and Marinette.
Not all the time though they still acted the same way as always around each other. The awkwardness would start when they were supposed to act like a couple.
Their friends, and yes Adrien considered Marinette's friends to be his friends now, didn't push them to act like a couple after all they were once in their position but they did give them suggestions and pointers on how to act like a couple.
The first step was the first date. Adrien never went on a date before so he didn't know how to prepare one but Nino and Nathaniel helped him and he was grateful for it. The date wasn't something elegant or fancy. They just went to the movies. It was casual and comfortable; they didn't feel like they were pressured to act a certain way and they enjoyed that.
The only thing was the fans but both Adrien and Marinette were used to it by now. They were just wanting to have a great night so they didn't allow the stares and questions to ruin their night. Adrien didn't want to make his relationship with Marinette a secret so he didn't deny it when he was asked about it but he also didn't want his relationship to be a public stunt for the press so he ignored most of the comments and so did Marinette.
The next step was them holding hands which happened on their first date. They were leaving the movie theater in LA and it was raining so Adrien took out his umbrella for both of them to share. Marinette got closer to him and for the first time she took his hand that wasn't holding the umbrella and held it as they walked to the car that was waiting for them.
Adrien always thought that it would feel awkward when they would first hold hands as a couple but it actually felt comfortable. Her hand was warm compared to the cold rainy day that they were on and it felt like Adrien had holded her hand before even though he didn't.
The last step that they took was their first kiss. That happened the week after their first date. It was Adrien's first concert in the tour. Adrien finished his concert and when he went backstage Marinette hugged him.
Adrien smiled and hugged her back. Marinette congratulated him on a great show and Adrien thanked her. After that everything went by quickly Adrien can't even remember who leaned in first but before he knew it they were kissing.
Adrien wished that moment lasted forever since it felt miraculous. Sadly not everything could last forever especially when you need to breathe. When they broke the kiss they saw that all of their friends were staring at them snickering and Adrien just smiled and Marinette giggled softly while blushing.
The thing Adrien was worried about the most was his dad. Adrien feared that when his dad found out about his relationship with Marinette, he would refuse it and forbid him from being with her; even worse he could fire her as Chat's fashion designer and as his intern. However Gabriel seemed to be fine with it as long as it didn't affect Chat's career and Adrien was relieved about that.
Now they were in New York city and it was the day before Adrien's concert and the gang decided to explore the city. Adrien didn't want to get attention that day but it wasn't like he could wear a disguise over his Chat disguise. It was hard to wear his Chat disguise as it was since he wasn't used to wearing his disguise for this long of a time period.
He hated wearing a hoodie when it was hot out and the contacts were so annoying to wear. Marinette even asked him that day why he always wore the same Chat outfit constantly.
"Well it's not always the same. I sometimes wear the outfits that you made me but if you specifically wear this outfit it's because it's the most comfortable one compared to others." Adrien replied.
'Why do you even keep a secret identity. I mean many celebrities have stage names but their real names are known too.' Marinette signed.
"Let's just say that being Chat Noir is a way for me to feel comfortable after I experienced something hard in my life." Adrien replied.
Marinette nodded. 'I'm sure most girls in my position would beg or even force their boyfriend to tell them who they really are but I won't you have a reason to become Chat Noir not telling anyone who you really are and I'll wait until you are ready to say I trust you.'
Adrien smiled. "Thanks princess."
What Adrien usually would do when he got tired in his disguise is to go to his dressing room, lock the door and take off his disguise for a while and once he was ready to come out as Chat he would.
That day was way different after a long day with the gang Adrien couldn't deal with the desguies anymore he quickly went to his dressing room and closed the door or he thought since he didn't lock the door in the rush that he was in and the door was slightly opened.
Adrien took off his disguise and sighed in relief feeling the cool air in his skin and his eyes were feeling better.
At that moment the door opened and Chloe walked in. "Hey Chat have you seen-" Chloe stops in her tracks as she sees who was in front of her.
Adrien froze seeing Chloe from the mirror staring at him with wide eyes… he had a lot of explaining to do.
