We get some Bianca people! We all love Bianca, who is very much in love with Reyna at this stage.

When Bianca woke up it was just past sunset- and she was starving.

She didn't even feel embarrassed about how quickly she ate the sandwich that Coach Hedge had made her- and she was incredibly grateful for Calypso's potions- she wasn't sure what was in them but they helped a lot- she still felt exhausted but, well, she had to keep going didn't she?

Nico would have been fine if he was in her place she was sure- and Reyna, Calypso and Coach Hedge needed her abilities so she'd do whatever it took to get them back to Camp Half-Blood.

And she did feel a little weird about her travel companions- Reyna, who- well, who she was head over heels for- there was no denying it.

And, well who could blame her, Jason had even been sweet about it when they'd talked- though she hadn't actually wanted to discus it at the time.

The daughter of Bellona was beautiful, she was brave, strong and fierce and Bianca really did hate herself for falling for someone who could never love her back.

Reyna had loved Jason after all. And while he was unavailable now... well, Bianca had no reason to believe Reyna was interested in girls and even if she was she'd hardly like Bianca of all people.

And then there was Calypso- personality wise Calypso wasn't like her sister- though the temper was similar at times.

But- Bianca could definitely see a resemblance and it made her heart ache because it reminded her of Zoe. Zoe who she hadn't seen since- well since the Battle of Manhattan- but even then she'd only seen her briefly through the crowds of fighters.

Once she'd finished her sandwich Reyna them about the dreams she they made Bianca's stomach twist with worry- Reyna looked so tense- she didn't like it.

And when Reyna told them about the hunter with glowing eyes shooting her in the gut it made Bianca want to scream.
No one was allowed to hurt her like that. She just couldn't let that happen- though she didn't voice those thoughts.

"Do you think the hunter is a giant?" Bianca asked the question quietly.

Coach Hedge grunted. "I'd rather not find out. I say we keep moving."

"You're suggesting avoiding a fight?" Calypso asked, an amused smile playing across her lips, "Why Coach you've grown."

"Shut it girly." Hedge was blushing, "I love a smackdown as much as the next guy, but we've got enough monsters to worry about without some bounty-hunter giant tracking us across the world. I don't like the sound of those huge arrows."

"For once I agree with Hedge." Reyna spoke up, her brows furrowing.

And Bianca bit her lip, staring down at her hands as her mind raced.

If this giant was a hunter- she swallowed hard, forcing herself to look up, "I may know who we could ask for advice."

"Who?" Reyna gave her an almost encouraging smile, "If you think you know someone who could help."

"I do." Bianca's gaze flicked towards Calypso, "Though- it might be better if someone else sends the message. I-" She took a deep breath, "I'm not sure what Zoe thinks of me these days."

"Zoe." Calypso's eyes widened, "Of course, my sister."

"Your sister?" Reyna blinked, glancing between them, "Is there some kind of history there?"

"Yes." Bianca's voice was stiff- Calypso just looked confused.

Bianca wasn't sure if she was glad that Zoe hadn't told Bianca about her or if a part of her was upset that she hadn't.

Which was stupid, why would Zoe talk about her? She'd never been more than a friend to the other girl.

"I don't understand-"

"Zoe is the Lieutenant of the Hunters of Artemis." Bianca stated slowly, not meeting anyone's eyes. "And as hunters- I mean, if anyone knows about a giant hunter guy I'd be willing to bet that it's Zoe."

"I didn't know you two knew each other." Calypso said slowly, tilting her head.

"You don't seem excited about the idea." Reyna added, "I don't-"

"I haven't seen Zoe since before the Battle of Manhattan." Bianca admitted, "Since-" she swallowed hard, "Since a few days before when I told her I needed to visit my father. I- things happened. I made mistakes and after the war was ended I asked Lady Artemis to release me from my oath." she could still remember Zoe's concern, remember the other girl pressing a silver charm, a bow and arrow, into her hand, saying that if she ever needed her she should break the charm. She'd kept it, strung onto a chain around her neck. She'd never considered using it before.

"You were a Hunter?" Reyna's eyes widened in shock, "I didn't know that."

"Neither did I." Calypso shook her head, "But I'm sure my sister doesn't hold whatever happened against you."

"I'm not." Bianca shook her head, "But- whatever happened in the past- I don't- maybe she doesn't care, maybe she does. Either way she can probably help us. But-maybe you should try and contact her." she directed that at Calypso. "I mean, you're sisters. She'll probably be happier to hear from you than she would from me."

"If that's what you think is best." Calypso nodded, "You're probably right though I'm sure she'd be pleased to hear from you. And you're probably right. My sister is knowledgeable about such things."

"I should try to contact my sister too." Reyna spoke up- and- maybe Bianca was imagining it but her expression was almost concerned- it almost felt like she was drawing the attention away from Bianca.

Well if she was she was grateful for that. Very, very grateful.

"You should?" Bianca found herself almost curious, it would be nice to learn more about Reyna.

"Her name is Hylla." Reyna told them, "I'd like to ask her help. Camp Jupiter is lightly defended. If Gaea was to attack there. Perhaps the Amazons could help."

Coach Hedge scowled. "No offence, but, uh … what's an army of Amazons going to do against a wave of dirt?"

And Bianca kind of wanted to slap him over the head for that- she could see the terror in Reyna's eyes at that- and yes, yes he might be right but did he really need to actually say it?

"We can talk more after the next jump." Reyna clearly took a second to pull herself together, "Right now we need to get out of here."

And Bianca looked around- and okay, Reyna wasn't wrong that they should try and move on soon. The daylight was almost gone and around the courtyard the ghosts were forming a mob. Hundreds of glowing Romans carrying spectral clubs or stones.

"Of course." she straightened up, a determined look on her face. "I should probably be able to get us to Spain this time with a bit of luck. Just give me another-"

Suddenly the mob of ghosts just seemed to vanish, like a mass of birthday candles blown out in a single breath. Bianca couldn't even sense them- and that made her incredibly uneasy.

Reyna's hand moved to her dagger. "Where did they go?"

"I-" Bianca looked around, trying to force down her panic, "I'm not sure I don't- they just disappeared. We need to get out of here now-" she was moving "Calypso help me get harnessed up it won't take-"

"It will take time you do not have." Coach Hedge rose- and Bianca felt like she was going to puke. Because that wasn't his voice- it was a terrifying somewhat familiar one- she'd dreamed of it- been taunted by it.

Hedge turned towards them, his face expressionless. His eyes were a solid black as they focused on Reyna. "Be glad, Reyna Ramírez-Arellano. You will die as a Roman. You will join the ghosts of Pompeii."

The ground rumbled. All around the courtyard, spirals of ash swirled into the air. They solidified into crude human figures – earthen shells like the ones in the museum. They stared at Reyna, their eyes ragged holes in faces of rock.

"The earth will swallow you," Hedge said in the voice of Gaia. "Just as it swallowed them."

"No." Bianca snarled the word, "You're not hurting he-them."

And Reyna was grabbing her arm, pulling her back slightly. "There are too many of them Bianca."

And Calypso moved closer too- as Reyna's metal dogs growled at the earthen shells.

Coach Hedge continued to speak in a very womanly voice: "The dead always outnumber the living. These spirits have waited centuries, unable to express their anger. Now I have given them bodies of earth."

One earthen ghost stepped forward. It moved slowly, but its footfall was so heavy it cracked the ancient tiles.

"Bianca-"

"I-" Bianca swallowed hard, focusing desperately- but the earthen shell must be protecting the spirits from her control. "I can't." she swallowed hard, "We need to get out of here but I need a few seconds to focus on making the jump or who knows where we'll end up."

"I can help fend them off but I am not as much of a fighter-"

"Yes daughter of Atlas-" Gaea's voice was mocking, "You are not a fighter. You were sheltered- trapped from the world-"

"I am not interested." Calypso snapped the words, stamping her foot hard, "I may have been unfairly punished then but I am happy with my life now. You will not sway me! Be gone!"

"You have no power here little daughter of Atlas-" Gaea laughed mockingly.

"Can you summon some zombies?" Reyna's voice was panicked as she turned her gaze to Bianca- who swallowed hard but she took a deep breath. Nodding as she pulled out the sceptre of Diocletian. She was terrified, but- she trusted Reyna's judgement, if Reyna wanted zombies then she'd get some Zombies."

"You shall perish-" Gaea spoke through Hedges' mouth, "You shall never-" he was cut off by Reyna smacking him over the head with the pommel of her knife. The Satyr crumpled and Bianca blinked- and okay but it wasn't fair how amazing Reyna was.

"Sorry Coach. That was getting tiresome. Bianca, summon me the zombies! Then concentrate on getting us out of here. Calypso help her harness herself up!"

"Of course."

"On it!"

Bianca raised the sceptre and the ground trembled at their feet.

The earthen ghosts chose that moment to charge. Aurum leaped at the nearest one and literally bit the creature's head off with his metal fangs. The rock shell toppled backwards and shattered.

Argentum was not so lucky. He sprang at another ghost, which swung its heavy arm and bashed the greyhound in his face. Argentum went flying. He staggered to his feet. His head was twisted forty-five degrees to the right. One of his ruby eyes was missing.

Bianca watched in awe, focusing her power on summoning the ghosts as she did- and suddenly she got why Percy had often complained about how it wasn't fair watching her girlfriends fight because it was too hot.

Because holy shit but watching as Reyna slashed her knife through the ghost's chest and drew her gladius made Bianca feel kind of giddy.

"Bianca!" Reyna was fierce, ducking and dodging the blows as she fought the earthen shells.

And Bianca shook herself slightly, focusing as hard as she could.

The ground split open down the centre of the courtyard. Dozens of skeletal soldiers clawed their way to the surface. Their shields looked like giant corroded pennies. Their blades were more rust than metal. Bianca swallowed hard, blinking rapidly as Calypso steadied her.

"Legion!" Reyna yelled the word, "Ad aciem!"

The zombies responded, pushing through the earthen ghosts to form a battle line. Some fell, crushed by stone fists. Others managed to close ranks and raise their shields.

But Bianca's heart sank- she could feel the sceptre fighting her- it was smoking in her hands. "It's fighting me Reyna!" her voice was panicked, "I don't-" she swallowed hard, and even as she desperately focused Calypso was making short work of harnessing her to the Parthenos.

"Just get ready to shadow travel! Calypso get Coach Hedge!" and Calypso rushed off to do it- and as she did Bianca felt something snapping- the sceptre exploded- it didn't hurt her- but she let out a horrified gasp. "Reyna I'm sorry!" her voice was panicked, "I don't know what happened you've not got long!"

"Legion! Orbem formate! Gladium signe!"

The zombies circled the Athena Parthenos, their swords ready for close-quarters fighting.

And even as Calypso strapped Hedge to the statue and secured herself Bianca was watching Reyna battle alongside the ghosts.

"For Rome!" Reyna cried hoarsely. She slashed her gladius through one earthen ghost and stabbed her dagger in another's chest. "Twelfth Legion Fulminata!"

All around her, zombies fell. Some were crushed in battle. Others disintegrated on their own as the residual power of Diocletian's sceptre finally failed.

"Reyna!" Bianca reached out desperately, forcing back tears, "We're leaving! We're leaving-" she was already drawing them into the shadows- terrified of leaving Reyna behind- and she watched as a rock fist caught Reyna's side. "REYNA!"

Bianca screamed the name- and shadows burst out of the ground at Reyna's feet, throwing her towards them and Bianca caught the other girls hand just as they slipped into the shadows.
