It was the day of Thor's farewell party and in usual Tony fashion it was a whole amazing thing. Everyone was having an amazing time. Steve and Sam had dragged you into a game of pool. And when you had said that you didn't know how, Sam took it as an opportunity to teach you. Much like how Clint had taught you to play darts all that time ago.
Your eyes found Clint's across the room and he raised his eyebrows at you. Finishing the game, you heard as Sam told Steve he was more than happy chasing cold leads on their missing person case as you excused yourself and made your way across the room to where he was.
He winked at you, "Sam stole my move."
"Yeah he did." You grinned at him. He looked around covertly.
"What are you looking for?"
"Seeing that the others are occupied." He responded.
"Why?" You started to ask and Clint gripped your hand and tugged you down an empty hallway. He opened a random door and peered in. It looked like a cleaning closet. He glanced around again and then he pushed you in and followed, closing the door and throwing the room into gloom.
"Clint, what are you doing?" You hissed at him as he pushed you against the door, his mouth on yours as his hands rucked up the skirt of your dress.
"Shush, unless you want someone to hear us." He murmured into your mouth as he pressed against you, his thumb circling over your clit. Your protest was only a token one as your hands were already busy at his pants, unhooking them and getting your hands into them so you could wrap your hand around him.
You often forgot how strong Clint actually was and so it always took you by surprise when he would lift you completely and effortlessly as he did so that he could set you back down on some kind of table. He pushed your skirt up more as he pulled you closer to the edge so that he could bury himself inside you.
"Don't strain yourself," you murmured against his neck as you ran your tongue up it, "You were injured pretty badly just a couple of days ago.
"I'm fine honey." He responded.
His hands gripped your hips tightly as he continued to thrust into you and you got a grip in his hair so you could tug his mouth back to yours. In minutes, you were coming hard, biting down on his shoulder to muffle your cry as your muscles clenched tight around him setting him off next.
With him still inside you, you reached up and did what you could to disrupt the fact that his hair clearly looked like someone had their fingers in it.
He caught one of your hands and pressed a kiss to the palm as he asked, "What are you doing?"
"You look like you just had sex." you said as he helped you back off the table and handed your underwear back to you.
As you took it from him and slipped back into them, he grinned, "Honey, I just did have sex."
"Yeah, well, unless you want everyone to know, you should go fix yourself."
Clint pulled you against him, covering your lips with his in a searing kiss before he nudged you gently back, "Honey, you look like you just had sex too."
Snorting, you took the hand he offered as he quietly pulled open the closet door and peered out. He pulled his head back in and kissed you quickly before he left. You waited for several minutes before you followed. Detouring to the bathroom to do what you could to set yourself back to rights before you returned to the party.
Eventually most of the guests left. Soon it was just you, Clint, Natasha, Maria Hill, Rhodey, Steve, Thor, Bruce, Tony and Helen Cho.
Clint was sitting on the floor, his shoulder resting against your leg as he twirled a drumstick in his hands. To the casual observer, the contact was totally benign. But a part of you had to work hard to keep the need from overcoming your senses. Drinks were passed around as this smaller group all talked and joked together.
The talk turned to Thor's hammer, which was currently resting on the coffee table in front of where you were sitting. Clint started it and pretty soon each of the men were trying to lift it. When each of them failed, though you swore that it moved slightly when Steve tried. Bruce looked to see if Nat was going to try and she immediately said, "Oh no, no no. That's not a question I need answered."
"Mermaid, why don't you give it a try," Tony put in.
You rolled your eyes and shook your head hard, "Absolutely not."
Tony said, "All deference to the Man Who Wouldn't Be King, but it's rigged."
Clint moved past Tony and put in, "You bet your ass."
Marie pointed at Clint and said, "Steve, he said a bad language word."
Steve dropped his head, "Did you tell everyone about that?"
Tony ignored the question and said, "The handle's imprinted, right? Like a security code. 'Whosoever is carrying Thor's fingerprints' is I believe the literal translation."
"Yes. It's a very, very interesting theory. I have a simpler one." Thor had stood up, walking casually over to the hammer, where he picked it up with no trouble and tossed it gently in the air before he caught it again and said seriously, "You're all not worthy."
Everyone groaned and Clint called out, "Oh come on!"
Suddenly, there was a high-pitched, audio feedback sound. Everyone winced in pain. From the shadows came an odd sounding mechanical voice.
"Worthy…."
We all turned towards the voice, watching as a being walked into the light. It looked like one of Tony's Iron Legion, but seriously damaged.
"No. How could you be worthy? You are all killers."
"Stark?" Steve said quietly.
"Jarvis?" Tony said
"I'm sorry, I was asleep. Or I was a-dream."
You stood, reaching your power out to touch the water in the room, preparing yourself as Tony said, "Reboot Legionnaire OS. We got a buggy suit."
"There was this terrible noise. And I was tangled in…in…strings."
Everyone was standing now. Your heart rate spiked as you caught the concern on Clint's face when he moved closer behind Tony, his eyes flicking between you and the creature that was speaking.
"I had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy."
"You killed someone?" Steve asked.
"Wouldn't have been my first call. But, down in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices."
"Who sent you?" Thor asked.
A recording of Tony's voice played, "I see a suit of armor around the world."
Bruce suddenly spoke his head jerking towards Tony, "Ultron."
"In the flesh. Or no, not yet. Not this chrysalis. But I'm ready."
You saw as everyone tensed, those with weapons, preparing to fight.
"I'm on a mission."
"What mission?" Natasha asked.
You and Clint looked at each other and concern flickered through you as you heard the being say: "Peace in our time."
There was a loud crash and several of the Iron Legion burst through the windows. Everyone reacted. You saw Clint dash away and wondered if he was going for his bow. Then you were too preoccupied with fighting to track where he went. You saw one of the robots grab the scepter and you tried to stop it. But before you could you were hit from the side by something and went sprawling.
You slid the length of the room and caught up on the legs of the pool table. Your head rapped against the floor, and your vision grayed for a moment. Shaking your head, you struggled back to your feet and you heard Clint call out, "Hey Cap!"
You watched as Clint tossed Steve his shield and understood that was where he had gone. Steve used the shield to destroy the last of the Legion. Clint rushed to your side as you staggered against the pool table.
"That was dramatic. I'm sorry, I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to evolve?"
Clint's hand was still on your arm as the creature spoke, then it reached down and picked up one of the destroyed robots.
"With these? These puppets. There is only one path to peace. The Avengers' extinction."
Thor threw his hammer at the creature and it fell apart. Creepily, as the lights started to flicker and fade it said, "I had strings, but now I'm free.
