Everyone was standing around in the lab discussing what happened. You were sitting on a stool as Clint worked to pull glass out of your shoulder.

"Ultron cleared out, he used the internet as an escape hatch." Bruce was saying.

"Ultron." Steve said.

Nat looked up from the computer she was working on and said, "He's been in everything. FIles, Surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other."

You hissed in pain as Clint's hand trembled as he removed a particularly deep splinter of glass. He murmured a soft apology as Rhodey asked what would happen if Ultron decided to access something a little more exciting.

"Nuclear codes." Maria said

"Nukes? He said he wanted us dead." Natasha said.

He didn't say 'dead'. He said 'extinct'." Steve said as he looked over at Natasha.

Clint pulled another piece of glass out of your shoulder as he said, "He also said he killed somebody."

Maria shook her head, "There wasn't anyone in the building."

Tony, who had up until this point been staring blankly at the destroyed robot that Ultron had been occupying, being uncharacteristically quiet, suddenly looked up and walked to the middle of the room at Maria's words.

"Yes, there was." He pulled a device out of his pocket and flicked it. There was a yellow holographic image floating in the middle of the room. When you went to stand up, Clint's hand pressed down on your uninjured shoulder.

"Is that?" You whispered to Clint.

"Jarvis." He answered you. You watched as the others examined the image. Discussing what it meant that Ultron had gone after and destroyed Jarvis. While everyone's attention was focused elsewhere, you risked leaning against Clint. His hands stroked gently on your arms.

Thor suddenly strode into the room, heading immediately to Tony and wrapping his hand around his throat. He was clearly upset and Clint came around to stand with you slightly protected behind him. You suspected that he wasn't even aware that he had done it.

"Thor! The Legionnaire?"

Thor had gone after the Iron Legion that had taken off with the scepter. He dropped Tony and said, "The trail went cold about 100 miles out, but it's headed north."

Your head was aching and you were aware as the others started to argue with each other. This wasn't an abnormal situation. When you had a team of people with the kinds of egos that this team did, there was often friction. You swayed lightly on your stool and Clint looked at you in concern.

"Hey, honey, are you okay?" He asked you quietly as the others continued their intense conversation. You nodded and said, "I'm just exhausted."

Clint nodded and turned towards the others and told them that he was going to take you to your room. No one tried to stop you, in fact they barely registered what he said. They were so intent on their conversation. Clint helped you to your feet, wrapping his arm around your waist as he helped you out of the lab and took you to the elevator.

Instead of taking you to your room though, he brought you into his. Helping you out of your dress before he helped you into the bed. He slid in, bringing you gently against his chest as he wrapped his arms around you.

"Clint, what's going to happen now?" I murmured quietly as he pressed his lips to the top of my head.

"I don't know honey. Guess we will have to wait and see." He responded.

You were standing with Maria and Steve as she updated him about news about what was probably Ultron. Then she handed over her tablet, which showed an image of a dead Strucker with the word PEACE written in blood on the wall. Steve took the tablet, and gestured you to follow him as he walked towards the lab where the others were working.

When he stopped in his track staring down a hallway, you glanced in the same direction, seeing Clint speaking into his cell phone in an undertone.

"Barton!" Steve called. Clint looked over at us, his eyes flicking between us as Steve said, "Might have something."

You heard as Clint said, "I gotta go." and hung up the phone.

As he walked towards you Steve asked, "Who's that?"

"Girlfriend." Clint said, not meeting your eyes. You didn't have the energy right now to deal with the weirdness of that. The three of you walked to where the others were. Discussing the meaning behind Strucker's death. Nat went to check the files, swearing under her breath as they showed that everything in the files on the computer had been wiped.

"Yep, Ultron wiped out everything we had on Strucker. He got everything." She said.

You looked at Steve and had an idea, "What about the paper files?"

Everyone looked at you and you shrugged, "C'mon, you all know how old fashioned Steve is."

"You're right, he didn't get everything."

Shortly, you were all digging through the countless boxes looking for some kind of clue on what Ultron didn't want you to find out that Strucker knew.

"Hey! I know that guy." Tony suddenly said. You looked up from the box you were currently examining, listening as Tony explained that the man who's file he was hold was a black market arms dealer. That back then he had been talking about finding something new.

Five minutes later Bruce was saying, "That brand is in an African dialect that basically means thief."

"What dialect?" Steve asked.

Bruce squinted at the screen and said, "Wakanda?"

You didn't miss the way that Tony and Steve looked at each other. Then Tony said, "If this guy got out of Wakanda with some of their trade goods?"

Steve shook his head, "I thought your father said he got the last of it."

"What's in Wakanda?" you asked.

The pair looked at you before they glanced at where Steve's shield was resting against a desk and Tony said, "The strongest metal on Earth."

You all moved into action as a plan was quickly drawn up. You were in the equipment storage, packing your bag when arms came around you. Your eyes closed for a moment as you leaned back against Clint's chest. Then you turned around, glancing around to make sure you were still alone before you pressed your lips against his.

For a moment longer you rested against him and then you pulled away. You looked into his eyes, "What was that phone call?"

Something flickered in his eyes and he said, "Nothing really. Just checking on something."

You could tell it was another evasion, but decided it wasn't worth pushing about it. When you started to pull away, Clint's arms tightened around you, pulling you back in.

"Clint, someone could walk in." You muttered against his chest.

You felt his lips brush against the top of your head and he said, "I don't care about that right now."

You let him hold you for a moment longer and then you gently pulled away. Clint reached out and his hand pressed against your cheek as he said, "We don't know what we are heading into. Not really. And well, I just wanted to take a moment."

You laid your hand on top of his and said, "I get it. But we have a lot of strong fighters on this team, we should be fine."

His eyes studied your face and then he leaned forward and kissed you once more, "Whatever happens, don't forget I love you."

A smile pulled at your lips as warmth spread through you. You said, "I know Clint. I love you too."
