Child of beauty and the beast

June 20th 1977

"You are doing great Mrs. Mcqueen, just one more push and then he should be here"

"Argghhhh" Kaitlynn Mcqueen Screamed.

"And here he comes," Said the midwife.

A beautiful little boy with a red mop of hair on his head got laid on Kaitlynn's chest, she kissed his forehead "Welcome to the world little one, my little Matthew"

"So that's what I should write on the papers, Matthew Mcqueen?" The nurse asked

"Matthew Aaron Mcqueen" Kaitlynn corrected.

The nurses finished and some minutes later, they were gone. Kaitlynn just sat with her son in her arms and looked at the little miracle she had been blessed with.

"I'm gonna protect you as much as I can little one"

A knock was heard on the door and a nurse stuck her head in and said "Mrs. McQueen your husband is here" Kaitlynn just nodded to let him in.

"So, this is the mistake we have made," Roscoe said

"He's not a mistake, he's our baby. The next Mcqueen generation"

"Well, I think we need to give him up, he wasn't a part of our future plan, and he can't get to be a part now"

"Well, I have made him a part of MY future, so you really don't get to decide this"

"Mom, look what I can do!" Little Matthew said excitedly.

"That's great honey," Kaitlynn said. She had an ice pack on her left eye.

Matthew looks up at his mom "You okey mom? Did dad hit you?"

Kaitlynn just looked at her son and assured her son that she was fine.

"If you don't get your act together, I'm going to take Matthew, I'm going to leave forever with him and you won't be allowed to see him. If you can't treat him like you love him, you shouldn't be a part of his life. I know that he wasn't what we planned, but life doesn't always go as you plan, and if you let unplanned events control you like that, you are never gonna see life as it is… beautiful and unpredictable. Our child needs a father figure, who treats him right, he needs a role model, and you are no such a thing. There was a time I looked into your eyes and saw a man who was happy, but now I only see anger." Kaitlynn said and turned around about to walk down the stairs.

Roscoe wasn't gonna let his wife talk to him like that. He was gonna give her a lesson she would not forget. He stretched out his arms and pushed her very hard.

Kaitlynn felt it and didn't have time to catch herself, so she fell down two flights of stairs. She had gotten a big crack in her skull from the impact and was now laying at the bottom of the stairs, slowly bleeding out.

Roscoe turned around to his son and threatened him saying "If you tell anyone what happened, I'm gonna make sure you get to be with your mother" and then turned around while calling an ambulance. He went down the stairs and just stood above her looking down at her, he slowly knelt down beside her "Don't worry honey, I'm gonna make sure our son becomes a strong man, not a mother's boy." he whispered into her ear.

Matthew Aaron Mcqueen 12 Year

It was the first Saturday of the month and Matthew knew what that meant. For his dad, it meant annual poker night, for Matthew, it meant annual beating from the drunken men.

"Get down here NOW!"

"Take your clothes off."

Matthew hesitated; he had a feeling about what would happen if he did.

"THAT WASN'T A REQUEST"

Matthew will never forget that night, all the begging for his dad to stop, the nail marks he had imprinted on his waist, the claw marks down his back, and how much his ass hurt.

Matthew knew from that moment that the minute he gets his driver's license, he was gone. He wasn't gonna allow his dad to control him anymore.

Matthew Aaron Mcqueen 16 Year

Matthew was at the courthouse to pick up some papers, which said that he would no longer be Matthew Aaron Mcqueen but instead Lightning Mcqueen, He couldn't change his last name; both because he didn't know what his mother's family name was, but also because as much as Lightning hated it, Lightning Mcqueen just had a certain ring to it and he couldn't quite get himself to erase his past completely.

He had tricked his father into signing the papers for the name change, by saying it was some school thing he had to sign. From now on, he was officially Lightning Mcqueen.

His driving lessons were starting next week, which meant that the minute he had those and a car he could run. His dad didn't know that he had changed his name, so he would have a lot of difficulties finding him.

Months later, he finally got his driver's license.

But though he had his driver's license, he didn't have the money to buy a car. So he guesses he had to run away on his own two legs.

One evening while his dad was out gambling, Lightning grabbed a duffle bag where he packed all his most important things that were easy to take with him along with a lot of pictures of him and his mother, and then he left.

3 days after Highway I-40 exit 218:

Lightning stood in front of the small mirror; hair newly bleached, there was just no way his dad could find him. He hoped so at least.

He went out of the restroom and got jumped by a lot of men, there were rumors about him going around stealing stuff, rumors that weren't true.

"HEY, GET OFF HIM"

Lightning felt the weight of all the men on him and the fists went away and were replaced with two strong hands that lifted him up.

"You okay kid?" The man asked brushing his shirt off.

He was tall. If he had to guess, around 6 foot 5. Lightning just looked up at him feeling a little nervous.

The stranger could see it on Lightning's face, so the stranger squatted down, so he didn't look so intimidating, and once again asked if he was okay.

"I'm Mack, what's your name?"

"Li- Li- Lightning"

"Okay Lightning, are you hungry?"

Lightning nodded "But I don't have any money"

"It's okay, my treat" Mack said and nodded for the kid to follow him to the café.

They sat down got some food and talked for hours.

"So where are you heading kid?"

"I don't know, I think I'm gonna stay here for a while."

"Okay," Mack took some steps towards his truck and then turned around "but I have an extra seat in my truck if you wanna come with?"

Lightning looked him up and down, he did move, which made Mack think that he didn't take the offer.

Mack turned around and walked away, but he could hear the small footsteps behind him.

Mack didn't know what to think of this boy, but one thing was for sure, he looked like he hadn't had the easiest life.

November 2008

Months went by and now it was mid-November which means the racing season had been over for some weeks.

Roscoe stayed in town much to Lightning's displeasure.

The town's people talk well with Roscoe and don't understand why lightning had run away from the man. Obviously, he cared about his son very much and had some psychological problems because of that.

Lightning saw through all that and knew that his dad was trying to turn them against him. And it looked like it was working.

"Ready for some training rookie?" Doc asked.

"Yeah, let's go" Lightning replied fast, he just wanted to get a move on before his dad… Lightning shook the thought of his dad away, he couldn't think about that now.

"Excuse me Mr. Hudson, but is it okay if I come too?" Roscoe asked.

"Well, I don't have a problem with it, but I think lightning should be the one to decide that," Doc answered.

"Of course, you can come dad…" Lightning said with a tense smile.

"Great, I really wanna see how good you are my son; all the town's people here can't stop telling me how great of a racer you are," Roscoe said while the three of them walked out of the diner to the cars.

December 2008

A little while after training:

"I don't want that doctor to be your crew chief anymore," Roscoe said

"That's not you're decisi- "

Before Lightning knew it, a hand was set on his throat and he was backed up against the wall, his feet dangling a little over the floor.

"I said I don't want him to be your crew chief anymore, HAVE I MADE MYSELF PERFECTLY CLEAR BOY?"

Lightning swallowed dryly and rasped out "Yes dad,"

"Good," He let go of Lightning, watching his body sliding down the wall.

Lightning looked up at his dad with so much fear in his eyes, even though he was a grown man now, some part of him was still that little scared boy who couldn't stand up to his father.

"Don't forget son" Roscoe walked over to the door and put his hand on the handle "I'm the one in charge," He opened the door and walked out.
