In the months after the Battle of Sokovia, the Avengers rebuilt. As much as they could anyway. Bruce had disappeared in the aftermath of the battle, he had been on the Quinjet that was in stealth mode and we couldn't find him. Clint had decided to retire and spend time with his family. You had heard that his wife had their son and he was healthy and well.

In upstate New York, a new Avengers' Compound was built. You moved in when the construction was complete. Working with the others to establish the new Avengers.

You were standing and looking out on the grounds when you heard Tony, Steve, and Thor coming up behind you. From what you overheard, they were once again talking about Thor's hammer. You rolled your eyes as you turned to face them. Thor was leaving to investigate the infinity stones and who was trying to use them. Tony decided to retire from the Avengers, turning it over to Steve, Natasha and you to usher in what Steve was calling the new generation.

You sensed the man coming up behind you and smiled when he wrapped his arms around you and let yourself lean back against him.

"You ready for this?" he asked.

Turning in his arms, you pressed a light kiss to his lips.

"Hey now, I'm not sure if fraternization between teammates is a good idea. Especially considering you technically outrank him." You heard Natasha say behind you.

You laughed as you turned to face her, "Just because I've technically been an Avenger longer than Sam doesn't mean I outrank him. We don't even have ranks."

Nat shrugged, "If you say so. You asked me to let you know when they arrived."

You nodded and Nat moved away again. You leaned against Sam's side as the two of you walked down to greet the guests. Clint and Laura were in conversation with Steve as Nat cooed over the bundle in her arms and Clint's other two kids rushed around staring at everything in sight.

Sam kissed your temple before you moved forward to the small group.

"Hey." Clint said when he noticed you.

"Hey."

Laura looked at her husband for a moment, nodding lightly before she moved away from him to see what her older two were drooling over.

"You wanna give me a tour?" Clint asked.

You glanced back at Sam, who grinned and nodded before he moved over to Steve. You nodded at Clint and said, "Yeah, sure I can do that."

As you moved through the compound you could tell that Clint was impressed with what the Avengers had become, "It''s truly what Tony wanted when he was trying to do all that stuff that led to Ultron."

"Yeah, it's a pretty well oiled machine now. We took the best parts of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the best parts of The Avengers and made something amazing."

The two of you leaned against a railing and watched as a group of recruits went through training routines.

"So, you and Sam huh?" Clint asked.

When you looked at him, you caught the slightest bit of regret in his eyes as he said, "Kinda hard to miss it."

"Yeah, we are. He's a great guy." You looked out to the grounds again, seeing Sam take off on his wings likely going to chase some lead on Bucky for Steve. He was still the main one working that case. You helped him with it.

"How are you and Laura?" You finally asked.

Clint sighed, "We're a work in progress."

You nodded, "That's good to hear. Do you regret retiring?"

Clint shook his head, "Nah, I probably should have retired a long time ago. I'm loving the time with the family. But you know, you guys can always call on me if it's a desperate times and all that."

You laughed lightly as the two of you turned away and headed back to the others.

Things were going good and you would take advantage of it as long as you could.
