This could happen if Striker didn't learn his lesson in A Helluva Christmas.

Chapter 1: Hatred

A month or two later after Kaitlin divorced Striker and brought Jake into custody, she and Jake were living peacefully without Striker and for good reason: He disrespected his own son and ex-wife and took them for granted. That was what led Striker to his lonesome state, which he'd brought upon himself. He wanted them back, but he realized he couldn't because he was too late and he'd gone too far.

One night, Jake and Kaitlin were out for a walk, they suddenly felt a tug on their shirts and before they knew it, they were gone.

Jake and his stepmother were sitting on the couch of a familiar cabin they lived in for years until their captor stepped into the living room.

"Well, well, well," their kidnapper sneered, "Look who came crawling back." He took a swig of alcohol.

Kaitlin stood up. "Says the cowboy who kidnapped us for no apparent reason," she corrected angrily with crossed arms.

"Blitzo and the others are probably on their way now," Jake said bravely, as he, too, stood up, "And even though he's a dick, he will always come and rescue us."

Striker looked out the window and saw no sign of Blitzo and his gang. So, he scoffed. "I don't see them. You must be imagining it."

"You may not see them, but you know Blitzo all too well, Dad, or should I even call you that?"

Striker gasped at what his own son had said, recalling his angry words: "You're the murderer I'm forced to call father! I don't want to be around someone who hurts my feelings or my stepmom's!" Then Striker came up with a comeback: "Jake, do you hear yourself? I came to bring you and your stepmom back and that's how you repay me?"

"You don't deserve to be called 'father', Striker or 'husband'," Kaitlin defended, "Because what you did was not what a father or husband would do."

"Maybe you should apologize for leaving me heartbroken."

Is he serious? There was no way in hell that Kaitlin and Jake were going to give him the satisfaction to apologize to their abuser and kidnapper.

"You brought this on yourself by drinking. You blame your bullshit on the alcohol, break things that are in front of you, which gets you in so much trouble, and you'd regret it."

"Yeah, you should be the sorry one for kidnapping us."

Striker just laughed at his son's remark. "Well, maybe I feel good about doing that."

"WELL, YOU SHOULDN'T!" Jake and Kaitlin snapped, which made their captor flinch, afraid of the kid and woman. Then, he sat down, buried his face in his arms, so only his horns could be visible, and he was trembling.

This gave Kaitlin a sense of satisfaction to see Striker shaking himself with fear.

Even though Jake couldn't feel sorry for his father in this state, he had to ask in case the latter got any more tense, "Why do you drink alcohol?"

"To forget about the fact, you and your bitch of a stepmother betrayed me."

"Alcohol is bad for you! You know that, right?"

"Yes, I know it's bad for my health, but-"

"Striker, Striker, Striker," Kaitlin cut him off as she walked around Striker, "The reason I divorced you is because your parenting sucks and your ways of handling things with us and I.M.P. are pathetic! An attention seeker who drinks before abducting us, makes false accusations on things we didn't do, and controls us by expecting us to respect you and obey you out of fear!"

Striker gasped. "Kaitlin!"

"I'd rather be EXTERMINATED like Jane than live with an abuser like you and be what you want me to be like a pushover!"

Striker gasped in shock again.

Jake glared up at him and said, "And that goes double for me."

As Striker stepped out of his hiding spot and stood up, something in him snapped. "You want me to be the bad guy? Fine. Now, I'm the bad guy." With that, he threw his hat on the floor in a fit of rage and stomped on it.

Kaitlin and Jake laughed at the sight of the cowboy's childish behavior.

Suddenly, three imps and a hellhound burst in the house with police officers behind them.

"Striker, you're under arrest for kidnapping a woman and a minor," a police officer said.

Just as Striker was about to escape with his hat, he was caught by the police and he was put in handcuffs.

"You have the right to remain silent," the other police officer commanded, "Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford one, one will be provided for you."

Kaitlin just smiled as her regretful ex-husband was escorted to the police car.

"We came as soon as we saw you and Jake being kidnapped," Blitzo announced, "We just had to wait for the right moment to come and get you."

"Well, I appreciate you rescuing us, Blitzo," Kaitlin said.

After a week of being in jail, he called Blitzo, regretting his actions from last week. However, Blitzo was too hurt and angry to care.

"Striker, I told you not to call me!"

"What do you want from me, Blitzo?" Striker demanded, losing patience.

"I want you to die," Blitzo replied coldly, "I wish it was you that was killed by the exterminators and not Jane." Striker gasped sharply, but Blitzo continued, "At least Jane would never do what you did."

Striker sighed, knowing Blitzo was right and sadly hung up the phone. Then, he decided to call Kaitlin and Jake. "Jake. Kaitlin."

"What do you want?" Jake demanded bluntly.

"Leave us alone!" Kaitlin snapped.

"Listen, I understand you guys are angry, but I'm really sorry."

His ex-wife laughed humorlessly. "Oh, you're sorry, Striker? You honestly think that ruining our lives last week by kidnapping us can be fixed with sorry?!"

"No," Striker replied quietly.

"Exactly, Dad!" Jake yelled, "You really hurt us and you can't take back what you said or did. This is why I'm living with someone who would never do what you did!"

"So don't call us for a while and stay the hell out of our lives! I'm done! Bye!"

"Me, too."

With that, Kaitlin and Jake angrily hung up the phone and Striker hung up his. Striker had a lot to think about. He covered his face, sobbing uncontrollably.
