Olivia woke up and smiled at Elliot. "Eight weeks!" She said. He kissed her. "It was a perfect weekend," she said happily. "I can't believe we get married in eight weeks."

They'd both taken Friday off to spend the weekend at the river with Noah, doing final wedding preparations. They'd initially been planning to get married in late fall but were thrilled when the hotel had a last-minute opening at the end of May instead.

This trip, they'd planned a few surprises for Noah. The first morning, they'd taken him outside shortly after he woke up, and he was still too sleepy to guess where they were going. As soon as they got to their destination though, his tiredness was gone. "We're renting bikes?" He squealed in delight.

Elliot responded to him, grinning. "We sure are. We thought it would be fun to bike on the trail this time instead." Partway into the bike ride, Elliot brought out the bagels and thermoses of coffee he'd gotten on the way to the bike shop, and they stopped for breakfast. In between wedding planning, they'd been able to hike with Noah, explore the town more and even go out on the river in a paddle-boat for a few hours, which was the other big surprise they'd planned for Noah. Both Liv and Elliot loved seeing his excitement and joy when he realized they were going out in a boat, and it seemed like he continued to smile the whole time they were on the river.

Olivia sighed slightly wistfully at being back home and into their normal routine again, but the thought that their wedding was eight weeks away had her quickly excited again. They heard Noah getting up and both of them got out of bed. Elliot went into the kitchen to help Noah with breakfast, while Olivia went for a quick run. She was fully recovered from her ankle injury and happy to be back running normally again. She'd been cautious during the winter due to the ice so was thrilled for it to be spring and be able to run outside again. As she came back into the apartment after her run, she was surprised to smell a freshly made breakfast. They usually just had cereal on weekdays. Noah and Elliot both smiled at her. "We wanted you to have a special breakfast today," Elliot said, "since it's eight weeks until the wedding."

"We made French toast, scrambled eggs, and fruit salad," Noah told her happily.

Liv hugged him. "Thank you, Noah. Everything looks and smells amazing." She kissed Elliot. "Thank you, El."

"You're welcome," Elliot responded, smiling at her. She enjoyed eating breakfast with Elliot and Noah. After she took a quick shower, she and Elliot walked Noah to school. "Bye, sweetie. Have a good day," she told him. "Bye, No," Elliot added.

After two morning meeting, things were relatively quiet, although she'd learned to never say that out loud. But she had time to go out to lunch with Elliot and not to hurry back, both of which were rarities.

They were walking back to the precinct when Olivia stepped in a pothole she hadn't noticed crossing the street and cried out in pain, tumbling to the ground.
