Chapter 2: Inheriting A Legacy

"Hey, Kurama. Y-You're not really a Villain or a monster, aren't you?" Izuku asked his new partner.

"What makes you think so?"

"It doesn't make sense to me that the same monster who once tried to destroy Musutafu suddenly decides to help a random kid, gives him hope and power, and tells him let's go save the world together. You had no reason to do any of that and I don't believe that a monster would be interested in saving the world which proves that you're nice." Izuku replied and he could swear that Kurama looked embarrassed by what he just said.

"Don't get so full of yourself, brat! For all you know, I could be manipulating you to do my own bidding or even escape from here!"

Izuku, however, shook his head. "If that was the case, you would've not said what you just did. Revealing your plan like that would be so dumb after all."

Kurama opened his mouth, trying to counter his argument but didn't find the words to do so. In the end, he just groaned in annoyance while murmuring something about "perceptive cinnamon roll" and "a dumb Uzumaki who was easier to fool". Of course, Izuku was right about him, and he truly had no ill intentions towards the boy… But calling him nice! Him! He's the almighty Kyuubi no Kitsune!

Seeing his reaction, Izuku couldn't help but laugh, making Kurama even more embarrassed.

"Shut up! Stop laughing, you puny human!" He angrily shouted. His booming voice causing Izuku to flinch back and raise his arms in defense.

"Sorry." Izuku apologized, thinking that he offended his new friend.

But instead of being satisfied with Izuku's apology, Kurama frowned. He knew about Izuku's social antics, it was no secret to him. Constant years of bullying made him jumpy and flinch back at… almost everything. He knew that the boy has no backbone, can't really stand to himself, and tends to apologize quickly for the stupidest reasons. All because of the life he led up until now. In the end, he decided to push this issue in the back of his mind. For now, they had much more important matters to deal with.

"So, uh… if you weren't responsible for the attack on Musutafu, then who-" Izuku began but never got the chance to ask his question as Kurama interrupted him.

"You need to leave now." And the next thing he knew, Izuku was laying on a hospital bed.

"W-What? What happened?" Izuku was confused. One moment he was in front of Kurama and the next he was in an unfamiliar room which looked like a hospital room.

'I kicked you out of your mindscape.' Came Kurama's voice from inside Izuku's head who was more and more surprised.

"B-But why?" Izuku asked with a hint of worry. Did he really offend Kurama that much that the fox didn't want to see him again? Unbeknown to him, his thoughts and emotions reached his partner.

'Because we need to escape from here. Now.' He elaborated, but the teen was now confused instead of worried.

"Why do we need to escape from a hospital? We're safe here."

'You used my power to defeat a Villain. Everyone saw it, and naturally, you'll be brought in for questioning because you used your Quirk illegally, a powerful Quirk no less that could've easily injured innocent people. Not to mention, you completely ignored the collateral damage. However, when they'll notice that you're registered as Quirkless. Not only will it raise suspicions, but they also might do a blood test to confirm your identity which is something we can't have.'

At the end of his explanation, Izuku raised an eyebrow. The whole blood test thing did not slip off his mind and he knew he had to ask Kurama about it later. And later was not now, so he nodded and got out of the bed.

The teen then grabbed his yellow backpack which was surprisingly untouched, meaning that no inspection was done, and headed towards the door only to be stopped by his new partner.

'Stop!'

"What?"

'Your clothes, you idiot. You're not going to go out with your already messed up school uniform. It will bring a lot of attraction. Change into your PE uniform. Also stop talking out loudly, I can hear your thoughts just fine.'

Okay, I'll quickly do it. Izuku complied and changed into his PE uniform before stuffing his torn uniform into his bag. What should I do now?

'The hospital is filled with police officers and a few Heroes. It's not going to be easy to escape from them, but luckily for you, I can sense them.'

You can? How? Izuku was curious to know more about the fox's sensory ability.

'I can sense them through their negative emotions. These emotions could be as simple as frustration, annoyance, anger, bitterness, and more. These emotions are common for all humans, which means I can sense the presence of anyone.' Kurama explained about his ability and if the situation was different, he would've written about it in his Hero Journal. After all, Kurama's power is his power too and Izuku was so excited to write about his new… Quirk? Power? Friend? He would ask his partner about that later. 'There are two officers walking through the corridor outside. Once they pass your room, leave this room and go to the elevators.'

Izuku nodded and patiently waited for the signal. For this, he had to be discrete and not let himself be seen. He still doesn't fully understand why he should do this, but he trusted his partner's judgement.

'It's time. Let's go.'

At that, Izuku slowly opened the door, making sure not to make too much sound before he discretely walked towards the elevators while also avoiding the cameras just in case. He pressed a button and waited for the elevator to come.

'Damn it…' Kurama said, not bothering to hide his annoyance.

I-Is something wrong? Izuku asked, a bit anxious now.

'The elevator is taking too long, and the other elevator will arrive here first.'

How can you be so sure? Izuku asked. After all, the elevator doesn't have to stop at this floor exactly.

'Because the one in the elevator is a Pro Hero. One of the Heroes who were present during that filthy Sludge attack.'

We should go back im- Izuku began but Kurama interrupted him.

'We can't. The two officers from before are guarding your room once again. We have to find another way.'

Izuku started to panic, not knowing what to do. If he's found out now, it would raise even more suspicions which didn't sit well with his situation. He glanced around him, trying to find somewhere to hide. And just then, his eyes caught the sight of a food service cart.

There! He mentally shouted before he lifted the tablecloth and hid in the food service cart.

At that moment, the sound of the elevator made itself known and the door opened. From inside, DeathArms walked out of the elevator and headed towards Izuku's room where he found the two police officers.

"Is the boy still unconscious?" The Pro Hero asked, not hiding his irritation at the situation he's in. He has been involved in this whole mess for a few hours and his patience was about to reach its limits.

"Yes, sir. The boy is still asleep, but the doctors told us that he should wake up soon. Surprisingly, all his injuries quickly healed by themselves, leaving no trace of any previous wounds or burns." One of the officers spoke.

DeathArms put a hand on his chin, contemplating something, "I find it weird. How can one have a physical enhancement Quirk and regeneration Quirk at the same time? Still, that boy was too reckless. We had the situation under control. He almost killed himself and if that old man hadn't stepped in, it could've been the end for him. I should scold him once he wakes up."

The two officers looked at each other both at loss for words, not really knowing what to say. But the silence was quickly disturbed but DeathArms once again.

"Did one of his parents come or even call?"

"No, sir. If it wasn't for the fact that all the media's cameras were destroyed by the boy during his battle, we would've assumed that he was an orphan. I guess we should wait until the news make it to the TVs."

Izuku heard the entire conversation without uttering a sound. He just rolled his eyes when the Pro Hero ranted about how reckless he was while Kurama let out a snort, 'Under control, yeah right? That hairless gorilla did nothing but just stand there while we did his job for him.'

I'm more curious about the regeneration Quirk he mentioned. Did you give me that Quirk, too?

'My powers aren't Quirks, kid. But yes, I gave you that power, too. It's what you get for being my Jinchuriki. And before you ask, a Jinchuriki is someone who has a tailed beast sealed inside him. However, I can't explain more now. We wasted so much time already, so let's go already before the elevator leaves without us.'

Izuku nodded and came out from his hiding place. He then got inside the elevator and chose the ground level.

Almost done. He thought.

'I swear, you humans are very troublesome.' Kurama groaned in frustration.

Izuku bridged the side of his nose. Don't tell me…

'Yes, another police officer. He's waiting in front of the elevator. Don't freak out and don't panic. Just stay calm and keep your head low. Try to avoid being suspicious.'

Easier said than done. I can hear the sound of my heart pounding inside my chest. Izuku thought as he took some steady breaths to calm himself.

The elevator's door opened again and Izuku walked out with the best poker face he could make. The officer's eyes were glued to him for a moment before he himself entered the elevator.

At last, Izuku made it out of the hospital and let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He was relieved that everything went smoothly.

'I'm sorry to be the one to break to you, but we need to keep moving, kid. It won't be long till they figure out that you've escaped from the hospital.'

Izuku wanted to facepalm at what Kurama said, but he refrained from doing so and started to think about his next step. I think we'll just have to go home now.

'No. We're not going home. We're going to our real home.' Kurama stated. Now that they've escaped and that Izuku's identity and secret were safe, it was time to tell him the truth about everything.

Huh? Our real home? What do you mean by that? Izuku didn't understand what his partner was trying to tell him.

'Kid… I mean that we're going to your parents' house.'

At first, there was a sound of a pin drop and then any other sound was blocked from Izuku's ears except for Kurama's words that were being repeated in his head.

"I have parents…?" Izuku couldn't help but say out loud. "I have parents…" He repeated, still not knowing how to register this…

And then, his brain started to piece everything together. His birthday was on the 15th of July. The same day Musutafu was attacked by the Nine-Tails fox and Hisashi Uzumaki died along with his pregnant wife, Inko Uzumaki, sacrificing his life to kill the demon fox. That's the story that everyone knows. That's the story they learned at school. That's the story that you will find in books and on the internet. But turns out, the same Nine-Tails fox was not killed. No. He was sealed inside a newborn baby, Izuku Midoriya. And then the Nine-Tails fox named Kurama, isn't a mindless beast of hatred that aims to destroy everything and kill humans like everyone says. No, he's a kind creature who as far as Izuku can tell doesn't hate humans and wishes to make them perish. In fact, Kurama said that he was sealed inside him by the Yellow Flash both to protect the fox and him, meaning that the true Villain of that night wasn't Kurama but someone else. Kurama also said that Hisashi Uzumaki entrusted them both the mission of saving the world, and if Izuku's theory was right, this means that they must defeat whoever that was truly responsible for that tragedy fourteen years ago.

Now why him? Surely, The Yellow Flash Of Japan would not entrust a mission like that to a random orphan…? Okay, maybe it is possible. But there's another thing. Kurama knows who his parents are and where they live. But if they were truly alive, they would've searched for him, right? His parents

surely loved him, right…? The puzzle wasn't complete. He had a good theory, but it's incomplete. His mind started to race, thinking about anything he might've missed…

And then it him… the blood test! Kurama didn't want him to stay in the hospital to avoid a blood test!

The blood test that would prove that…

"I'm Hisashi Uzumaki's secret son." Izuku finally spoke, his heart still racing inside his chest. "Isn't that right, Kurama?"

'So, you've finally figured it out, huh?' The tailed beast sighed. It's not that he was against revealing the identity of the parents to the boy, but now wasn't the time. 'Look. I know that you're disoriented, but we need to get out of here, understand? If word gets out that Hisashi's unborn son is in fact alive, every single Villain worth their salt will be after you, including the ones responsible for that tragedy!' He urged the green-haired boy.

I understand. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Lead the way, then. He added with a new determined look in his eyes.

Behind the window of one of the hospital's rooms, Sorahiko could be seen smiling and watching Izuku running through the streets.

'Sorahiko, did you hear what I said?'

"Sorry, Tsukauchi I spaced out for a moment. Could you repeat what you just said?" He asked as his eyes were still fixed on the smaller form of Izuku.

'Please take this more seriously, Sorahiko. We're talking about Izuku here.'

"Yes, yes, my bad. Just tell them that the kid's guardian came and took him after talking to you. I'm counting on you."

'And I guarantee you that Izuku's identity will be safe from any danger.'

'Go down that alley.' Came Kurama's voice from inside Izuku's head.

As Izuku was running and following his partner's directions, he passed by the famous statue of the Yellow Flash, Hisashi Uzumaki. This of course, wasn't the first time he has ever seen it. In fact, he comes here and sees it every day and most of the time he just likes to sit underneath the statue and write in his Hero Journal. Every time he came here though, he would look at the man with utmost admiration and respect. This time, however, there was also love, curiosity and sadness. In the end, he managed to avert his gaze and continued to run.

'We're here.' Kurama stated and Izuku found himself in front of a small mansion. Something that his small apartment obviously didn't compare to.

The boy just stood there in silence, observing the large building. His mind started to drift to some scenarios where he would come back from school -well a better school than Aldera but in those scenarios he would come back from school and come home, and when he would open the door, he

would find his parents, waiting for him and giving him a warm welcome. That was maybe in another life, but not this one, unfortunately.

It's no use thinking about that now. He thought to himself as he stood in front of the front door. His hand began to reach the doorknob and when it did, he realized something important. The key! I have no-

At this, Izuku gasped in shock when some sort of symbols aligned in a special formation on the door began to glow.

Kurama! What is that?! Is that a trap?! The boy was afraid that something bad might happen and wanted some kind of reassurance.

'Well, sort of…' Kurama calmly replied, making Izuku panic more.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME THAT EARLIER! He was slightly offended at how casual his partner was, but before he could jump back and run out of here, he saw the door opening.

'Relax kid. It's a trap, but not for you. Your father made it so that the door would recognize anyone with his or Inko's DNA and open without a key. However, if you were a stranger and had tried to force open the door… well, you don't want to find out about that.' The tailed beast explained, knowing well how well versed Hisashi was in fuinjutsu. The man was especially fearsome when it came to traps and used to take great satisfaction when people fell for them. It was more or less of a proof that Naruto's prankster genes still ran deep in the Uzumaki lineage.

What?! He can do that?! But how?! How is that possible?! Is that some sort of a trap Quirk that lets you place traps with certain conditions to activate?! If that's so-

'NO! STOP!' Kurama immediately cut off Izuku's ranting. He has already suffered for years because of the boy's muttering and didn't want to suffer anymore. Although, that wasn't an option and he would soon learn that this was a fate he would never be able to escape. 'This is fuinjutsu. The same art that allowed him to seal me inside you. We'll get more into that when you start your training, but for now, we have more pressuring matters.'

Y-You're right. Sorry, I lost myself there. Izuku mentally apologized to his friend before pushing the door and going in.

"I'm home." He said with a smile, trying to be positive. There was ton to explore after all.

He was greeted by the sight of a dark living room with a sofa and some comfortable chairs. He turned on the lights and was surprised to see that the electricity still flowed in the circuits of the house. Not only that, once he took a good look at the same now well-lit living room, he noticed that there was no speck of dust. It was clean, too clean.

"Someone has been here recently. But who?" He said out loud as he explored the house. It was until when he saw a certain portrait in the living room that he finally stopped. A portrait of Hisashi Uzumaki and his wife, Inko Uzumaki during their wedding.

At first, his eyes were glued to his father and when Izuku tried to imagine him with green hair and green eyes, he found that they looked pretty similar to each other. It was almost as if Izuku was a younger version of the man. His eyes then moved to his mother, the deceased Number Four Hero, Inko Uzumaki. Her face was also very similar looking to his own, her green eyes were shaped just like his eyes and her hair was the same color and shade as hers. Those two were truly his parents.

However, Izuku didn't know how to feel. He was happy, happy that he finally got to know the identity of his parents. And he was proud of them as their sacrifice saved tons of people that night. He didn't hold that against them one bit because sacrificing yourself for the sake of others was the mark of a true Hero. But he was still sad and lonely. He wanted to know more about them. He knew them as Heroes he idolized, but not as persons. What were they like? He wished he could talk to them and hear their voices. But he knew it was impossible.

'They were amazing. Your father was a ramen addict like you and liked to analyze Quirks the same way you do. Your mother was very kindhearted and had a strong sense of justice, just like you. Although she was very emotional. Nevertheless, the two of them were selfless. Unlike many other Heroes, they didn't care about rank, money or fame. They only wanted to help those in need. That was all the reason they had to do their best. I'm also sure they would've been the best parents you could've asked for.' Kurama said with a surprisingly soft tone.

"Yeah… Thanks for telling me." Izuku said with a broken voice before he bit his bottom lip, trying to hold back his tears.

'There's no need to hold back, Izuku. It's okay to feel this way. They're your parents after all.' Kurama consoled him and before he knew it, the tears finally fell from Izuku's eyes.

Despite the fact that Izuku had already cried in his mindscape, it wasn't real because it was in his mindscape, not the real world. And so, this time was truly the first time Izuku had cried in years. The tears that he had held back for so long finally fell, and he cried for a long time. He had found his parents, yet he didn't. Whatever hope he had left of his parents being alive somewhere and that he would one day find them has died as well.

Izuku let out a sigh after his body crashed on the sofa, too tired to explore the house right now. His eyes were red and puffy after all the crying he did, but he felt better now. And he decided that now was a good time as any to get his answers. He closed his eyes and let his mind relax before he was pulled into his mindscape.

"How do you know my parents, Kurama?" This was his first question.

"I was sealed inside one of your ancestors around one thousand years ago. Her name was Kushina Uzumaki. From there, I was sealed inside her son, Naruto Uzumaki. He was my first friend and he managed to get rid of the hatred inside me that I held for humans. He's the greatest guy I've ever met. After that, I just decided to stay with his descendants, watch them and protect them until I met your parents. Surprisingly, when it was the time for me to be sealed inside a new host before the death of your grandfather, your father decided that I should be sealed inside your mother. He wanted me to protect her should anything happen to her, and your mother accepted." Kurama explained, remembering each one of Izuku's ancestors.

"So you're like the family's guardian spirit, huh?"

"Don't call me that. I've killed your parents. What kind of guardian kills those he's supposed to protect?" Kurama said with bitterness.

Izuku frowned, "But it wasn't your fault. It was a Villain."

"You're wrong. I've failed to protect them. The sealing technique your father used to seal me and save everyone is what cost him his life. And I killed your mother when I couldn't protect her from that Villain and let myself be extracted from her. To make things worse, I stabbed her with one of my nails in an attempt to kill your father when I saw him trying to seal me inside you. She protected him with her Quirk until the very end. Everything happened because I couldn't resist his brainwashing. Everything was caused by my lack of ability to protect them. Instead, they're the ones who protected me." He finished with a deep frown on his face, ashamed of himself and his failures.

Izuku shook his head, "I still can't see how this was your fault. It was that Villain who caused everything, not you. And I swear, we will get him. We will get him and bring him to justice for all the people he killed, including my parents." Izuku was frowning by at the end, but his frown quickly turned into a smile. "So, stop blaming yourself about it because I'm not mad at you. Not one bit. And I'm sure that Mom and Dad aren't either."

At this, Kurama just sighed, "I swear you Uzumaki are annoying." He muttered under his breath before he smiled at the young boy, "Together, we won't fail." He said to which Izuku nodded.

"Now that I know what we're dealing with, I guess our first step is for me to train and investigate the Villain responsible for that night. Apart from the fact that he seems to have a powerful brainwashing Quirk, we know nothing. Did you happen to see him that night? If we know what he looks like it'll help us with our investigation… I will have to look on the internet, too. Get a list of all Villains with a brainwashing Quirk and try to narrow the search for there." Izuku began to mutter, trying to think of a way to find that Villain.

"Slow down, kid. There's no need to hurry." Kurama stopped him.

"What?! But the Villain is out there! We need to find him as soon as possible!" Izuku shot back.

"We don't need to investigate because there's someone who's already far ahead than us in this investigation. He will have most of the answers you seek." Kurama explained which surprised Izuku but also made him happy. If he can find that person, then he will surely find the Villain much faster.

"Who is that person then? And where is he?" Izuku immediately asked.

"It's someone you've already met today."

"Wait, I met that person today?" Izuku repeated back in shock. And before he could say anything else, he was once again kicked out of his mindscape and saw the front door opening revealing the silhouette of a tall man. Nevertheless, Izuku was more surprised and confused to see the unexpected arrival of Sorahiko.

"I assume that if you're here than it could only mean that you've met the giant furball, isn't?" The old man asked with a grin.

Izuku heard Kurama shouting in his head but paid him no attention as he was more focused on his guest, who for some reason happened to have the key to his parents' house.

"S-Sorahiko? What are you doing here? H-How do you have the key? How do you know about Kurama?" Izuku began to bombard the old man with questions. But before he could get an answer, his mind began to quickly put two and two together and he pointed at the man. "You're the one who has been investigating my father's death!"

"Wow, thank you for spoiling all the fun, Kurama." The older man groaned as he closed the door behind him and then did some weird signs with his hands before turning to face Izuku again. "Judging from your previous reaction, I can see that the giant furball didn't tell you everything about me. So, allow me to introduce myself properly, Izuku. As I've told you already, my name is Sorahiko Torino. I used to be your parents' teacher at UA and currently your godfather." He said that last part bitterly.

The jinchuriki's eyes widened at that statement. "M-My godfather?"

"… A rather shitty godfather if you ask me. One who has failed to look after his godson properly and instead left him in a crappy orphanage." Sorahiko admitted with a deep sigh and there was some anger at the mention of the orphanage. He was going to pay them a visit tomorrow for kicking out Izuku, but for now he had to get acquainted with his godson. He was able to smile and walk a bit closer to the boy. "But yes… I am your godfather. And it's nice to finally-"

The words didn't escape his lips in time before a green blur crashed into him, wrapping his arms around the old man. Sorahiko looked in surprise at the green-haired boy who was hugging him, shaking slightly.

"I-I don't care. You couldn't have known that they would kick me out… It wasn't your fault, and I don't care now that I… I-I finally have a family. I have a family!" Izuku exclaimed happily as tears were running down his eyes. "I'm so happy to meet you!"

At this, Sorahiko's expression softened a bit before he returned the hug. "I'm so happy to meet you too, Izuku." The older man then gave Izuku a moment to calm down and wipe his tears before they both sat down in the living room with Izuku taking the sofa and Sorahiko taking the chair in the front of him.

"So, I guess all this time you were investigating my parents' deaths, right?" Izuku was the first to break the silence.

"Indeed. I was investigating your parents' murder and doing some important stuff that would allow me to train you and help you inherit your father's legacy. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you all these years, but I was not in Japan. I was travelling. I also couldn't take you with me because it would've been too easy for the Villain who killed your parents to find you. I'm ashamed to say this, but at the time I didn't have the necessary power to protect you from all the dangers that surrounds you. Surely, someone like you could understand what would happen if word had gotten out that Hisashi Uzumaki's only heir is alive and breathing." He said that last part in a very serious tone which made Izuku gulp. The fanboy knew well that his father had so many enemies, and many Villains would definitely try and will kill him if word like that gets out. "Which is why I gave you your last name Midoriya and placed you in Musutafu's orphanage, hiding you from the Villain who killed your parents and concealing your identity." Sorahiko explained to the younger boy.

Once he heard everything, Izuku sat in silence, thinking about the next set of questions he will ask the man.

"Did you find the Villain that killed my parents?" This was the first question that came to his mind.

"No. I've done a lot of investigating but so far and came to nothing." He admitted before taking out a broken white mask with some black markings. He then scowled as the memories of his dying student came back to his mind, but still managed to stay professional and conceal his emotions. "I believe that the Villain that killed your parents was wearing that mask to hide his identity. Before he died, Hisashi tried to tell me about his identity but couldn't utter the name out of his mouth, so instead he made a weird sign with his hand. At first, I didn't understand what he was referring to, but after some research, I discovered that it referred to mole in sign language. That's when I understood what happened. Whoever was behind this mask was someone your father and I knew. The person is a traitor. Someone who betrayed your father. When I discovered this, I was relieved that I took the right decision of hiding your existence…" Sorahiko further explained but before he could continue with his explanation, Izuku interrupted him.

"I'm sorry to interrupt you, Sorahiko. But Kurama says that he has something very important to ask you."

"Very well, I'm all ears."

At this, Izuku gasped in shock. He couldn't believe what his friend just told him. "No… N-No way, what are you saying, Kurama? There's no way- Fine, fine I will." Izuku took a deep breath and frowned when he thought about his next words. "Kurama asks if it's possible that the Villain who brainwashed him and killed my parents is… the current Number One Hero, Ichiro Uchiha."

"No." Sorahiko replied almost immediately. "During the night of the attack, Ichiro was with his pregnant wife who was having some trouble because of her pregnancy and resting at a hospital in Tokyo. And without having a teleportation ability, there's no way he could've been at two places at once. Despite my second thoughts about investigating my other student, I still did it because you told me about how the Mangekyo Sharingan could control you, Kurama. So, trust me when I say that he didn't do it. Besides, Ichiro and Hisashi were like brothers. They were always together since the day they were born, and honestly the man was genuinely sad by the loss of his best friend. He was so frustrated about not being able to do anything to save him and Inko… And to think he had just finished grieving over the death of his sister." Sorahiko muttered that last part under his breath. He truly pitied his student and felt sad for him. The man lost both his brother figure and his sister in the span of two years.

And as if this wasn't bad enough, his wife died a few years later after giving birth to his daughter. Sorahiko thought bitterly. He had met the woman once during the wedding but still remembered her. She had left a great impression on him with her kindness, gentleness and intelligence, and managed to earn his respect that day. Something that few people are able to do. Maki Yaoyorozu, a wonderful woman that I'll never forget. May you rest in peace.

See? I told you that there's no way Ichiro Uchiha could've killed my parents. He's an amazing Hero, and it's because of him that the people of Japan could rest at ease, knowing that they're well protected as long as he's here. That's why he's in the top 5 of my favorite Heroes! Izuku told the tailed beast.

Kurama only scoffed, 'Fine you were right. I just wanted to make sure that's all.' It was evident to Izuku that the Nine-Tails fox was still embarrassed that he was proven wrong.

"Anyways…" Sorahiko spoke, grabbing the attention of both Izuku and Kurama to the conversation. "I was able to at least discover the current goal of our Villain." If Sorahiko didn't have the attention of both the Jinchuriki and the tailed beast, he surely had it now. "For some reason, he's collecting the tailed beasts. The Three-Tails, Isobu is no longer in the Water Continent and the Two-Tails Matatabi isn't also in the Lightning Continent. I went to their places and didn't find them. They're missing." At the end of his statement, the room was silent. Izuku didn't understand what Sorahiko was talking about and if Kurama was mad or shocked then he did a good job at hiding it.

'I see… So, this wasn't just a petty attempt to assassinate two of the Top 5 Heroes.' The fox finally spoke. It seems like whatever is going on was much worse than he first thought. Whatever that Villain was trying to accomplish by collecting the tailed beasts couldn't be anything good.

What's going on, Kurama? What is Sorahiko talking about? Izuku asked, feeling lost in the conversation.

'There is a total of nine tailed beasts including me. Each continent has a number of tailed beasts, and our job is to protect the continent we live in however we like or see fit. Unlike me, many of my brothers and sisters don't like to interact with humans, and so they prefer to stay hidden unless the continent is really in desperate need of them. Right now, two of my siblings got captured and it's safe to assume that the Villain who killed your parents is also the one who's behind this.'

Izuku absorbed every information quietly as he now understood his current situation. "So, the Villain who killed my parents will one day go after me to take Kurama, is that right?" Izuku asked his godfather.

Sorahiko nodded, "Which is dangerous to both you and Kurama as we still don't know why that Villain is collecting the tailed beasts. I don't know if Kurama has told you yet, but Izuku you need to know that as a Jinchuriki, if your tailed beast got extracted from you…"

A sudden tension filled the room and Izuku felt a lump in his throat.

"…You'll die." Sorahiko waited for a moment to let his words sink in.

In honesty, Sorahiko expected Izuku to panic or freak out. After all, Izuku was just a fourteen years old kid and it's normal for kids his age to be scared when they hear about a strong Villain coming after them to kill them. He got up from his seat, intending to move towards the boy console him but he didn't expect Izuku to say what he said next.

"Then train me well." He simply said. "Come again?"

"Y-You said that you will train me to follow in my father's footsteps, right? Well, it's clear that I must surpass my Dad if I want to stand a chance against that Villain. I need to become the greatest Hero Japan has ever seen. Kurama and I had already agreed that together we'll find that Villain and bring him to justice." Izuku then stood up from his seat and bowed to the man in front of him. "So, I ask you to prepare me and help me become the greatest Hero like my father once was!" He said with so much passion and conviction.

Sorahiko just smirked at the young man in front of him. He reminded him so much of Hisashi when he was his age, yet he could also see some hints of Inko in his personality such as his passion and conviction. The old man then placed a hand on Izuku's shoulder, causing the teen to stand straight again. "I promised your father to take care of you before his death. And I always wished I could've done more for you. But now that I'm here, I'm fully intended on keeping that promise. If taking care of you means training you to become the most powerful Hero the world has ever seen, then so be it. I will do it."

Hearing his answer, Izuku smiled brightly. He was truly happy to have met both Sorahiko and Kurama today and with both of them around him, he didn't feel lonely anymore. For the first time in his life, Izuku Midoriya didn't feel like he was alone in this world.

"Thank you." He thanked the man and felt the tears forming in the corners of his eyes.

Sorahiko gave Izuku's shoulder a gentle squeeze, "Now listen up. We can't stay in your parents' house forever, else it will cause suspicion and put you in danger. We'll stay the night here. I'll sleep in the guest's room, and you can sleep in your parents' room…"

"Wait, you're right! We can't stay here!" Izuku cut him off. "The lights! We need to turn off the lights else the people will see that someone's inside!" Izuku shouted in panic causing Sorahiko to chuckle and laugh.

"Don't worry about that. I learned a few tricks from your father and used a seal to suppress any noise and used another one on the windows to suppress the light. Cool, huh? That's something only a fuinjutsu master like me could pull out." He bragged causing Izuku to sweat drop and Kurama to roll his eyes. "Anyways, tomorrow you'll go to school. I called a trustful friend of mine who knows about you. He managed to get the Heroes and the police off your back, so you have nothing to worry about. Following that, you'll come back here and make sure no one follows you. I'll let you explore the house as much as you want, and we'll try to find anything that your parents might have left for you. I already found a lot of books that will help us with your training. After tomorrow, you'll meet me at Dagobah Beach to start your training before moving back to your apartment, understood?"

"Yes, Sorahiko-sensei." Izuku replied.

Sorahiko felt a bit proud at the sensei part. He definitely liked this kid.

"Good. I'll go to sleep now. Today was a long day thanks to you, and I need to rest." He said as he headed towards the stairs. "Goodnight, Izuku."

"Goodnight. Oh, and thank you for saving me today, Sorahiko-sensei." Izuku thanked his godfather.

"Don't mention it, kid. I'm sure that you and the furball had it covered."

The Next Day:

Izuku had woken up earlier than usual, so he decided to prepare breakfast for both him and his mentor. At least that was the plan until he found nothing but taiyaki in the fridge.

Seriously, how can someone have taiyaki for breakfast? He thought as he took a bite.

After eating, he went back home and changed into his school uniform, not wanting to stay in his PE uniform any longer. School day was normal… Well, as far as a normal day at school can go for Izuku Midoriya. The only thing that was out of ordinary was the fact that Bakugo didn't speak with him.

However, Izuku could feel his piercing glare on his back whenever he wasn't looking which if Izuku was honest made him slightly nervous. At the end of the day, however, after packing his stuff in order to head back home, Izuku saw Bakugo approaching him.

Oh, no. What could he want from me now? I knew something was wrong when he didn't speak to me all day. Izuku thought with a hint of worry.

'Don't worry, kid. That angry Pomeranian is all bark and no bite. If he tries anything, trust me, I'll make sure he regrets it.' Kurama growled. He hated the explosive teen for all the time he hurt Izuku. If it wasn't for the healing factor he gave Izuku, the boy would've suffered a lot more. And course, if it wasn't for that damn seal, Bakugo would've been the one to suffer instead.

"K-Kacchan uh is there something you want to tell me?" Izuku asked although a bit nervously.

"Follow me." He simply said before walking away. Izuku complied and followed the other teen who led him behind the school building far away from any other students and teachers.

Izuku knew from experience that the presence of a teacher or student wouldn't matter, but nonetheless he was getting worried. The current silence didn't also help his case. If anything, it was making things even worse. He opened his mouth to speak but Bakugo beat him to it.

"Yesterday, I never asked you for help! And you didn't help me! Got it?! I was fine by myself. You're a Quirkless failure playing without a full deck! Don't think you can look down on me! Are you trying to make me owe you?! Don't look down on me! You damn nerd!" Bakugo told him in his usual aggressive fashion.

At hearing this, Kurama scoffed, 'Talk about being grateful. Is that really the "Thank You" we get?'

Izuku, however, frowned after hearing out Bakugo. "I-I'm not looking down on you, Kacchan or trying to make you owe me… I-I just wanted to help-" But before he could continue, Izuku was grabbed by his collar and slammed into the wall behind him thanks to Bakugo.

"I told you, I didn't ask for your help, you Quirkless loser!"

"I couldn't just sit and watch you die while waiting for you and your stupid ego to ask for help!" Izuku angrily shouted back.

Bakugo was taken aback by surprise before getting even madder at the young jinchuriki, "I TOLD YOU ALREADY, STOP LOOKING DOWN ON ME, YOU DAMN NERD! WHAT WERE YOU TRYING TO PROVE YESTERDAY?! THAT YOU CAN BE A HERO?! FORGET IT! YOU'LL NEVER MAKE IT TO UA! YOU'LL FAIL THE ENTRANCE EXAM! AND YOU'LL NEVER BE A HERO!"

"JUST WHAT IS IT BETWEEN YOU AND ME BECOMING A HERO?! WHY DOES IT BOTHER YOU SO

MUCH?!" Izuku was getting angrier, and he started to feel Kurama's power within him. He knew what Kurama was trying to do, so he did his best to calm down for the sake of not hurting Bakugo.

Not knowing what was happening with Izuku, Bakugo just pulled him as he still held the boy by his collar and slammed his back into the wall again. This time harder. "I DON'T CARE IF YOU BECOME A HERO, DEKU! JUST DON'T GO TO UA!" He growled and at this moment, Bakugo could swear that Izuku's eyes flashed red for a second before they were once again the usual green eyes he knew. He was more shocked though when instead of cowering in fear, Izuku grabbed his wrist, hard.

"Someone told me… that I'm not a Quirkless loser. He told me that I can become a Hero. I have my own reasons to become a Hero and no one will ever stop me, not even you, Kacchan." He shoved Bakugo away with surprising ease, leaving the explosive teen stunned and speechless. "When I saw you getting hurt yesterday, I saw my old friend I knew in kindergarten. Yes, I still held to those naïve memories, but now I see it… I see that I don't and can't understand the current you and whatever problem you have with me." Izuku continued as he picked up his bag and strapped it to his back before he started to walk away. "I'm going to UA and whether you accept it or not is none of my concern. I have more important things to do. I have my own goals to accomplish." Izuku then turned back to look at Bakugo for the last time for today. "Don't try to talk me out of this because you'll only be wasting both of our times. Also, using your explosions will do nothing either. You should know that by now… Goodbye, Kacchan." And with that, he went on his way.

Bakugo was going nuts. He was mentally screaming at what just happened. Izuku Midoriya, Deku has defied him, yelled at him and even pushed him away. Sure, Bakugo knew that Izuku always had some fire in him. He always saw the defiance in his eyes. No matter how much he tried to push him down, he bounced back up like nothing has happened. He was never able to break him. However, today was different. He doesn't know what happened with the Deku. He seemed different, more mature, and that conviction and determination Bakugo saw in Izuku's eyes worried him. If Bakugo felt that Izuku was an old locomotive desperately trying to run ahead of everyone, now he was a bullet train, running far ahead of everyone, running far ahead of him.

Damn it! Damn that stupid nerd! I was supposed to know how the hell did he rescue me from that a shitty Sludge Villain because I know that it wasn't that old geezer who did it! Damn it! Damn it! These were Bakugo's thoughts as he went on his way to go back home.

A/N: It was never my intention to be gone for this long. But I've been very busy those past few weeks with uni stuff. Doesn't help much that my PC broke and had to buy a new one and my beta readers and helpers were equally if not more busy than I was. I had actually finished this chapter since September, but they hadn't finished reading my chapter and given me input like usual which more or less explains the delay. Anyways, I'm glad to see that this story has been getting some attention. That was nice to see and I hope that it stays that way. Don't ask me in the comments about the third movie of mha because I didn't see it yet, so I would have 0 idea about what you're talking about. And yeah, I don't have much words for today except that I hope you guys enjoyed reading this chapter and let me know what you think about this chapter.

Small Clarification: Since Hisashi is an Uzumaki, Inko doesn't get to be called Inko Midoriya. The only Midoriya in this story is Izuku.

For those who're wandering about Deku: The Sharingan Hero, I'm half way done with the new chapter, but I won't lie I'm struggling a bit with the new chapter and might change a few stuff I had already planned for the Hosu arc. I'm aiming for a November release, but there's a high chance it might end up being a December release. Might also release 2 chapters at a time actually.

3/11/2021: Copy pasting from Word is a bad idea. It fucked up the format, so I had to edit some lines.
