A week after Miracle was privy to Optimus about the partnership thing, Miracle was thrown out of bed by Bumblebee in the middle of the night. And he did it very rudely, keeping his spotlight on her. Miracle put her hand in front of her eyes. She groped blindly for her pillow and angrily threw it at the yellow Autobot in front of her bed.

"Are you crazy?! It's the middle of the night! Turn off the damn light!" she cursed.

The pillow she threw at Bumblebee had little effect. The Autobot had just backed away, not expecting it. Miracle turned on her other side, grumbling, hoping to avoid the glare. But she had thought wrong. Because Bumblebee now went to the other side of the bed to shine the spotlight directly in her face.

"Turn off the light!" Miracle shouted, now very annoyed.

"But only if you get up," Bumblebee said.

"Middle of the night?! Are you out of your mind?!"

"But you have to do your mission at night. So it was decided."

Miracle jumped out of bed. Our mission! So that's it! Miracle shook her head at the fact that they absolutely had to do this in the middle of the night, but so be it. At least she was finally done with it.

"You could have warned me this afternoon. Then I would be prepared. I'll get dressed quickly.", she said and disappeared into the bathroom with some clothes. When she came out later, Bumblebee was already waiting for her at the door. A little excited, she followed the yellow Autobot into a huge room. Here Optimus was already standing, surrounded by other Autobots and the human partners. Miracle was led right next to him and Optimus whispered down to her as inconspicuously as possible: "So? Did you have any premonition?"

Miracle shook her head at a loss and whispered back, "I'm just as clueless as you."

"Ah, there she is at last," said a green Autobot. "Well, you all know our tradition that we want to bring new partners closer together with a special task. And today it's Optimus and Miracle's turn. To be honest, I had almost given up hope that our leader would even find a human partner, busy as he is. Yes, yes, beating up Decepticons is exhausting, isn't it?"

The other Autobots started giggling.

"Well, without further ado, I'll explain your mission to you. Do you see the cameras up there?"

Optimus and Miracle looked at the high ceiling and agreed. There was a camera on each corner of the room. The green lights flashing on the cameras showed that they had already started recording. "These are special cameras," the green Autobot continued, "These are infrared cameras that take razor-sharp pictures even in the dark."

"Of course, even I know that and I'm not an overdeveloped robot. What does all this have to do with the mission now?" Miracle asked.

"Quite simply... You will be locked in this room and the lights will be turned off. Then it's your job, Miracle, to climb onto Optimus from behind and back down from the front."

Miracle looked stunned at the green Autobot: "I'm supposed to what?! Have you lost your damn mind?! Oh, I'd better ask: Are your hard drives fried?! I could break my neck!"

"Oh don't worry. You will of course be covered. We don't want Optimus to lose his partner before she's right." The next moment a small Autobot, who wasn't even half a meter tall, came up to Miracle and attached a bunjee rope to the belt of her pants and a red Autobot hooked her to the ceiling above.

Miracle didn't like the whole thing at all because next she was led a bit away from Optimus. Then the lights went out and Miracle was alone in the room with Optimus. He, on the other hand, had previously been instructed to close his optics so as not to make it too easy for Miracle.

Miracle now stood there quite disoriented. Especially as a draftswoman, she relied so much on her eyesight that she was simply lost in the dark. The other Autobots had found out about that and had then dreamed up this meanness. Miracle was wandering around quite helplessly and bumped into the door.

"I will tell you one thing, you will regret it bitterly! Everyone!" she cursed.

"Miracle, I'm here." Optimus said to make things easier for her. But then the voice of the green Autobot echoed through the room: "Well, well, Optimus, you're not supposed to help her. She should be able to do it alone."

Optimus grumbled something not understandable. He would prefer to be on a real mission right now instead of just standing here for the amusement of the others. Then Miracle hit his leg.

"Ouch!" she exclaimed.

"Miracle? Are you alright?" Optimus asked.

"Yes, yes, damn it! I can't believe you're doing this. I mean you are their leader. You could have said something." Miracle said as she felt Optimus' leg for something to steady her.

"It would be quite... unfair... if... I... ducked it," Optimus said breathlessly.

"What's happening? Is something wrong?"

"Well... would you please... stop... tickling me?"

Miracle exhaled in astonishment. Suddenly she thought she heard Optimus chuckle.

"I didn't know you were ticklish," she said then.

"Well, there's more to us than meets the eye."

Miracle was really sorry that she had to torment Optimus like this while feeling his leg for something to climb on be able. She groped very carefully, but at some point Optimus couldn't help but laugh. Finally she grabbed a cable to end his suffering and climbed it. She supported her feet on his leg so that she climbed up on him like a mountaineer.

But at some point the cable ran out and Miracle had to grope around again. Optimus started laughing again. "I'm so sorry about all of this," Miracle said.

"I think... tonight... is the hardest... of my life," Optimus said, trying to control himself.

She finally grabbed a lever that was beneath his back. Miracle pulled herself up with it. She stuck her foot in an opening and got stuck.

"Oh damn!" Miracle cursed. Optimus' chuckle had now given way to a painful moan. Apparently her foot was caught in a sensitive area.

Miracle tried desperately to get her foot out of the gap, but it wouldn't work. Then she felt something gooey run down her jammed foot. In the next moment, Miracle screamed in horror. She tugged at her foot and was finally able to free herself. Optimus breathed a sigh of relief.

"What was that? Where did I just get stuck?" Miracle asked.

"You'd rather not know that..." Optimus said, still groaning in pain. Miracle felt ashamed that she was being so clumsy. But she was an artist and not a mountaineer. Miracle had reached Optimus' lungs (that's what the humans would call the spot). She just felt for his shoulder and pulled herself up. Reaching Optimus' shoulder, she rested on it for a moment.

"And now the whole procedure down again..." she said with a sigh.

"I swear to you that whoever came up with this idea will be cleaning the cells in the next few months!" Optimus said now rather angrily. He clenched his fists in anger and yet was always careful not to make a careless move that might cost Miracle her life.
