As soon as Ritsuka woke up, he regretted doing so. He didn't realise how tired he was the day before until he got to bed. However, that didn't change the fact that he had things to do and, with an exhausted groan, pushed himself off his bed.

Trudging his way through the apartment, he entered the dining area where his sister was already eating with the same dead tired expression he had. He presumed their parents (or their mother) had made breakfast for them before leaving for work.

"Morning…"

"Morning," she greeted him back. "What are you doing up so early? Doesn't your lecture start a bit later today?"

"Ritsuko, I am not you. Just because I could sleep in doesn't mean I will," Ritsuka retorted as he made himself a cup of coffee. "And shouldn't you be on your way to school already?"

"Relax, I still have ten minutes before I have to leave," she replied and continued eating her breakfast without care. "So what are your plans for today? Besides class, I mean."

"Hmm… I'm probably just gonna do some work at that cafe again." Honestly, it was a nice place for him to study in (relative) peace. And now that he thought about it, he could also check if they have any job vacancies; only one guy was manning the counter when he was there yesterday.

In any case, Ritsuka ate breakfast quickly before he went back to his room to get ready for the day.

Ritsuka checked his watch and noted that he still had some time before his lecture started. He recalled that most of his new friends had their own classes at this time so hanging with them was out of the question.

'Hmm… Maybe I should visit the library.' It was a nice place to wait and he could get some reading in the meantime.

After making his way across campus, Ritsuka entered the university's library and gave the librarian a friendly wave as he went in. He then looked around the aisles for something he could study French with and eventually found a couple. He took them off the shelves and found himself an empty table to sit at.

As he read, Ritsuka was only faintly aware of other people's presence as they passed by his table. So he was taken by surprise when someone joined him, sitting across from here.

"Salut, Fujimaru. Ça va si je m'assois ici ?" Ciel's polite tone interrupted his focus.

"Oh, um…" Ritsuka cleared his throat in slight embarrassment. "Tu peux. Je vais bientôt partir."

"Vraiment? C'est dommage." She sighed. "J'espérais qu'on puisse parler un peu. On a pas appris grand chose l'un de l'autre hier, tu sais."

"Uh..."

"Oh, sorry," Ciel apologised with a small giggle upon seeing his confused face. "I forgot that you weren't too familiar with French."

"I wouldn't say I'm not unfamiliar. You were speaking a bit too fast for me," Ritsuka quietly admitted while sheepishly scratching the back of his head.

"Ah, sorry, sorry," she continued apologising. "I was saying how we barely learned anything about each other yesterday."

"I suppose you're right." Ritsuka didn't quite find out why Ciel conveniently knows Japanese.

"As you know, my name is Ciel. At least that's what everyone calls me," she more properly introduced herself. "For some reason, that name stuck around and no one knows my real name."

"Really?"

"Of course not; it's just a joke," Ciel giggled before saying with a grin, "Or am I?"

Ritsuka couldn't help but laugh at her stupid joke. "But I can call you Ciel, right?"

"Of course you can."

"Well, I'm Ritsuka Fujimaru," he formally introduced himself, "I just moved here a few months ago so my French isn't that great."

"Yet," Ciel added with a small smile. "If you don't mind, can I ask why your family moved here?"

"Sure." He didn't mind answering that so he told her about his father's job offer and their subsequent move here.

"I see… " Ciel quietly hummed after hearing his story. "How do you feel about it?"

"Well… I wouldn't say I was in love with the idea," Ritsuka admitted with a slight sigh. "But it's in the past now and I'll just adapt to it."

"And your sister?"

"Ritsuko…" Honestly, he should talk to her about that. However, his eyes wandered toward his phone, which was on the table. Specifically, what time it was. "Oh, I have to get going. My lecture is about to start soon."

"Is that so? Well, see you then," Ciel waved him goodbye as he got up from his seat.

"Goodbye, it was nice talking to you," Ritsuka replied before he packed up and left the library, putting the books he was reading on the return shelf.

Sometime later…

Ritsuka yawned as he walked down the street, now done with class. It was still too early for him to go home— he usually starts cooking at around 6 —so he decided to go to the cafe again.

"Bienvenue monsieur," The waiter from yesterday greeted him again with a polite smile. "Entrez, nous sommes ouverts aux affaires."

"Je vous remercie," Ritsuka thanked him in response before glancing around the cafe for a table.

However— ""Ah! Par la!" —the choice was already made for him. Ciel was already here and was waving her hand to get his attention.

Well, he might as well just join her. Something told him that it was better that he accepted her help than continue fighting her…

A/N: I meant to do GudaCas shorts first but I did this instead. I'm not complaining but I should probably do that next. Until then, enjoy some more stupid shippy stuff that exists for some reason.

So… please leave a review or something? Also check out my Twitter. My pinned (re)tweet is a fanart I commissioned that… didn't actually cause as much backlash as I thought.
