Aurora's New Life
Aurora awoke, she stretched her arms as she got up. The last few weeks hadn't been pleasant for her. Ever since she had discovered that she was a princess, Aurora's life had been turned upside for the worst. She had been put to sleep by an evil sorceress, her 'aunts' lied to her, her entire life and found out that her husband to be was a shallow man who only wanted a trophy wife. She hated her life and she hated her birth name. On the night before her wedding, she snuck out of the castle. She knew that she couldn't hide in the cottage she had grown up in that would be the first place they would look for her. She had only one place to go... Maleficent's castle.
It's was just the fact that forbidden mountain was the last place anyone would think of looking that led Aurora to hide there, it was also the fact when the princess was under her trance, the dark fairy had told her that it was because of her that her mother was able to conceive Aurora but at a cost.
Aurora had arrived at the now empty castle and had fallen asleep the moment she had found a comfortable bed to rest in.
Aurora made her way to the closet and opened it. Inside the closet were several purple and black dresses and cloaks that were the same colour along with horned headdresses. Aurora picked up one of each and went behind a dresser. To her surprise, Maleficent's dress fitted perfectly she had expected it to be too large for her. Next, she put on the cloak it too fitted perfectly as did the horned headdress, which covered all of her long blonde hair.
Once she was done she made her way to Maleficent's studies. The room was filled with books, more than in her parent's library. Aurora looked at the many books until she saw one that caught her eye. The book was titled "ARTS OF FAIRE". Aurora picked up the book and began to read it. The book contained several spells of the arts of dark magic.
Aurora read the from cover to cover. She was intrigued by the sentences in the book and to learn every one of them by heart.
She took the book with her as she left the study room. She looked around to find a staff to cast the spells, unfortunately, the only one Maleficent had was the one she used to turn herself into a dragon. As Aurora searched the entire castle from top to bottom. She came to the horrible conclusion that the only way for her to get a staff would be to go back to the very spot where Maleficent had been killed which meant she wouldn't be too far from the palace she hated most.
As the last of the sunlight was out of sight, Aurora began her journey to the spot where the Mistress of all Evil had met her end. As Aurora walked through the forest serval cute bunnies and small birds saw her but unlike the previous times, she had walked through the woods, the animals ran and flew away from her. Aurora couldn't blame them she was dressed in the clothing of the most feared being to have ever walked the earth, why in the dark her silhouette could be mistaken for the Mistress of Evil herself.
As the light of the waning moon glowed in the dark blue night sky, Aurora arrived at the spot where Maleficent had fallen. Aurora took a quick look around to make sure that she was alone, fearing that a palace guard might be searching for her. Once she was sure that the coast was clear she walked to the black stain on the floor. Aurora looked closely at the stain she saw an unusual shape in the centre of it. She slowly reached out to the shape and touched it. It was the staff still in perfect condition. Aurora beamed and picked up the staff, feeling its dark powers run through her and quickly when back into the dark forest. When she was far enough where no one could see her, she opened the book and turned to the page that had a teleporting spell and read the instructions in her head, then raised the staff high.
"Emmenez-moi là où je veux être." Aurora said out loud before slamming the staff down onto the ground and she disappeared in a green flame. Aurora closed her eyes fearing the flames would consume her and burn her to ashes. When she opened her eyes she saw that she was in Maleficent's bedroom.
A wide grin appeared on her face. She had done magic, real magic and on her first attempt no less. She let out a tired yawn. She took off the headdress and cloak before making her way to the bed and falling asleep on the soft mattress.
Months passed and after serval unsuccessful temples, the king and queen had no choice but to announce to their kingdom that their daughter was dead. Many were devastated by the new, Queen Leah in tears.
The three fairies flew to the cottage where they had raised the Rose over the last sixteen years.
"Why did she run off?" fauna asked with tears rolling down her cheeks
"I don't know, I don't know." Flora said as tears also fell from her eyes.
Over the next three years, Aurora practised her magic skills until she had mastered every spell in the "ARTS OF FAIRE". The only problem Aurora had with her new home was that there wasn't much food or clean water, only a few berries but as the year came to an end the last of the berries had been picked.
Aurora had no choice she would have to go out into the forest to find something to eat. She could use her magic to create food but unfortunately, she hadn't found the right spell to create fresh food. On the eve of her nineteenth birthday, Aurora made her way down to the forest. She walked until she found some blueberries. Aurora signed, she had gotten tired of berries but they would have to do. As she picked them she saw a large shadow come over her. Aurora turned around quickly to see a large manticore behind her. She grabbed her staff and quickly said the teleport spell but before she could finish the monster pounced onto her and pinned her to the ground. Fear filled Aurora however the dark magic had made some changes to her internally. In less time than it takes a fly to flap its wings the fear in Aurora was turned into anger. Aurora glared at the creature as she uttered a different spell.
"Brûle-toi jusqu'à ta mort!" Aurora shouted then as soon as the last word had left her mouth the manticore was consumed in green fire and burned to a crisp. Aurora stood up and looked at the chart remains of the creature. She was in shock not just by the fact she had been responsible for the death of another but by the fact she felt no guilt over this. She was about to go back to picking the blueberries when she noticed a boar foraging nearby and an idea came to her.
A little while later Aurora teleported into the dark castle's dining room with roasted boar. She placed the boar on the table and ate every last bit of it, enjoying the first taste of food that wasn't of the berry kind. Aurora cleaned her lips with a napkin then she made her way to the bed and fell asleep.
That night Aurora had a nightmare, of wicked trolls and gruesome fates to morels but strangely as the nightmare went on it turned into a wonderful dream, although nothing had changed.
As the sun rose the next morning, Aurora opened her eyes and yawned. Aurora made her way to the closet picked out her dress, cloak and headdress for the day then she went to get change behind the dresser but before she could take off her black purple nightgown she caught sight of her reflection in the mirror. The dark magic had changed her overnight. Her hair was black as the night, her nails were permanently cherry red, her lips now forever rose red, the whites of her eyes were now yellow, pale purple eyeshade above her eyes and her skin was now pale green. Her face was the only thing that stayed the same although her eyebrows were longer and now prominent chin. She now stood as tall as Maleficent.
"A considerable improvement." Aurora said in a slightly deeper voice, impressed by the new look.
Meanwhile, Philip was out on a date with Aurora's cousin, Katleen. Since Aurora's disappearance, Stefan and Hubert had agreed to merge their kingdom through the marriage of Katleen and Phillip.
Phillip and Katleen walked through the forest, the prince pretending to be interested in what his bride to be was talking about.
Unbeknownst to the two of them, Aurora was in walking through the forest scaring all the woodland creatures she had once called her friends. Aurora was now in her clock and headdress, making her look almost exactly like Maleficent.
Aurora chuckled at the sight of two rabbits bumping into each other as they fled at the sight of her. Then in the corner of her eyes, she saw Phillip with the woman, not knowing that this was her cousin.
Aurora raised an eyebrow. She followed them in the shadows until they stopped at the place where Aurora had met Phillip all those years ago.
Phillip and Katleen looked at Stefan's castle in the distance.
"Beautiful isn't it." Katleen said.
"Not as beautiful as you are." Phillip said to the young woman in blue with dark brown hair.
Aurora rolled her yellow eyes knowing that the pig didn't love this poor nieve woman, just whatever came with her.
"You know one day Katleen that castle will be ours." Phillip said with a fake smile.
"Well, first we have to be wed." Katleen said to her husband to be. Aurora gave a puzzled expression.
"I know in three years on this day, you will be my wife and our kingdoms will be united." Phillip said.
A smirk appeared on Aurora's face. "How interesting." The green-skinned woman whispered to herself. She then raised her staff and whispered the teleportation spell and disappeared in green flames.
Aurora was chuckling to herself as she reappeared in her castle.
"Unit the kingdoms. My, wouldn't they be disappointed." Aurora said.
And they were, three years later when Aurora appeared at the wedding and threatened that if her crown was to be placed on another then she plunged both kingdoms into darkness until it was returned to her.
