Chapter 3
.
As Christian drove away from the Police Station, he felt so powerless— that was something he truly hated. But there was an upside; Ana was alive! That's what mattered the most… his wife was alive. His beautiful, amazing Princess was back. Now he just had to find out what the Detective knew about Ana's whereabouts...
'I've gotta think of a plan' he thought.
As he drove back home, his mind brought him back in time.

*FLASHBACK*
.
.
Christian was still in bed, trying to sleep in, but that's when he felt someone poking at his chest.
"Hmmm…" he lazily replied, letting the one who was disturbing him know that he was still sleepy.
But, that person kept poking at him with a finger."Baby, stop it. It's Saturday, let me sleep a little bit more, please?" he mumbled, and pulled the warm blanket over his head.
'Ha! She's given up.' Christian thought, and sunk deeper in their comfortable bed.
But all of a sudden, he felt someone jump on top of him. "What the… ?" he growled, but then felt a familiar, feminine body straddle him.
As he tried to move, she burst out into laughter and took the blanket off of him. That's when he saw a pair of gorgeous, sapphire eyes boring into his.
"Baby. I'm still tired." He complained, but Ana put a finger on his lips and shook her head.
"U-uh! And I'm not? I left work at 2 AM." She replied, her eyes twinkling in a teasing manner.
"But it's not my fault that you're a workaholic, Princess!" Christian countered, while attempting to sit up. However, Ana leaned on him and began kissing him on his most sensitive spot... his neck.
"Hmmm…" he uttered, while his eyes automatically fell shut.
"Are you awake, Christian?" she asked seductively.
"Yes, yes. I'm fully awake now." He replied, as his greedy hands roamed, trying to touch more of her." Well, go on. You can't stop now. Cause you're the one who started this, princess."
Christian's heart rate had kicked up a notch, as he grabbed Ana by her soft hips... God, she was so warm…
"You're awake? OK, get up now, babe. We have to begin with our daily routine." Ana ordered, and jumped up from their bed.
He couldn't believe that she had tricked him— AGAIN." Princess!" he growled, but Ana was already out the bedroom door, laughing at him loudly.
As he walked towards the bathroom, a smirk played at his lips."Oh, payback is gonna be sweet." he whispered." Game on, Princess. Game on."
.
.
~ 45 minutes later ~
.
After his shower, Christian found Ana in the nursery. Their child had turned 18 months the day before. Wow! Time does fly by. He could still remember the day Aurora was born, like it was yesterday.
It was a very difficult birth; Ana was in labor for more than 36 hours. He was with her the whole time of course, holding her hand. At one point, Christian began to worry and was terrified, because the baby was in a breech position. What if something went wrong and something happened to Ana? Or the baby? He almost lost his mind the last few hours, but the nurses were able to calm him down by convincing him that the midwife and gynecologist were the best in this whole region.
"Your wife and baby will be fine." One of the nurses told him.
Not long after that, Christian heard Aurora for the first time. Her first cry! As he watched Ana holding the baby in her arms for the first time, he broke down and sobbed like a little kid...
Half an hour later, Mia, his friends and Gail met him in the waiting room of the hospital.
"It's a girl! Her name is Aurora... Both, Ana and the baby are doing well." Christian announced, making the others shout and clap happily.
That day had been the best day ever… As Christian's eyes landed on the most important girls in his life, he felt his heart swell gloriously. Ana was feeding the toddler, and sang her a song.
'God! Thank you for these beautiful angels of mine.' Christian thought.
After the toddler was fed, he got up from his chair and took her from Ana, so she could get ready for work. For more than thirty minutes, he played with Aurora and even talked to her about all kinds of stuff.
"Babe, are you going to drop me off at work?" Ana asked, as she walked into the beautiful nursery." I'm still a bit tired, I'm afraid."
"OK, I'll ask Gail to look after Aurora in the meantime." he replied, and lovingly grabbed his wife's hand." Let's go..."
.
As Christian drove her to work— at one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the state, Ana chatted about her job. She was a very talented biochemist, and was really invested in developing medicines and treatments to treat specific diseases. She was talking about a medicine, one that she and her colleague had been working on for the past six months.
"This could change and save the lives of thousands, Christian! Maybe more..." he heard her say with so much passion in her voice.
As he listened to his Princess, he felt a sense of pride. He was so proud to have an amazing wife who cared not only about her family and friends, but also about making sick people better. She never turned her back on anyone who needed her help.
God, he was a lucky man to be the one she had chosen to share her life with.
When the building came into view, Christian looked over to Ana. As a mischievous smile crept on his face, she furrowed her brows.
"Why is there a devilish smirk plastered on your face, Christian Grey?" she questioned, while narrowing her eyes.
Christian acted innocently."What? Me? What are you talking about, Princess?"
"You are planning something." she accused." You have that twinkle in your eyes! Tell me, what is it?"
Christian burst out into laughter, as he drove into the garage of the building." Why are you acting so paranoid? Huh?"
She held her forefinger up, and glared at him."Don't you dare try something, Christian..."
"What? I'm so innocent! Can't you see the halo above my head?" he teased, making her mutter something he couldn't quite make out.
At that, Ana gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, jumped out of the luxurious car and waved at him.
"Hey! What kind of good day kiss was that?!" he shouted, but she had already turned around the corner.
.
.
Approximately five hours later, Ana was still in the lab, so Christian waited patiently for her. As he saw her walking into the hall after 10 minutes, he immediately got on his feet. With flowers in his hand, he waited for her to come his way. As her eyes landed on Christian, Ana froze for a second.
"Your husband is here to have lunch with you, Mrs. Grey." One of her co-workers told her.
Her other co-workers stopped to look at Ana's reaction, cause Christian had never done this before.
She cleared her throat, and as she stood in front of Christian, she grabbed his hand. She gave him a warning look." Lunch? OK, let's have lunch now." She said, feeling uncomfortable." What are you planning, Christian?" Ana whispered, so he was the only one who heard those last words.
In response, he brought his lips to her ear." Oh, nothing." he replied coolly." Just that you're getting your payback from this morning. They're all watching, right Princess?"
"What are…?" she began, but Christian grabbed her tightly and planted a kiss on her full, pink lips.
As she gasped from shock, he took the opportunity to deepen the kiss. Without her accord her eyes fell shut, her lips and tongue automatically responding to his, while she let her fingers run through his wild, soft locks.
When they had pulled apart, Christian saw that Ana's cheeks had turned crimson red. Embarrassed, she looked around at her colleagues and other staff members, apologizing to them. They all smiled widely at her and a few even clapped at Christian's sudden action.
"OK, lunch now, Mr. Grey!" she said breathlessly, while grabbing his hand, and then tugged him towards the door.
When they had reached the elevator, Ana threw deadly daggers with her eyes at him." Christian Grey!"
In response, he winked at her and said."Payback sure is a sweet thing, isn't it Princess?"
.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
.
Christian was taken out of his thoughts by a car horn blaring loudly through the street. He was just about to yell at the other driver, when a black SUV from the opposite direction drove right into his lane and stopped right in front of him. At that, he hit the brakes immediately, causing the tires of his car to screech loudly.
When Christian's car came to a stop, he jumped out of it, wanting to ask the other driver what the hell he was doing! But it never came to it, because a third car had stopped behind Christian's car and a man stepped out of it without him noticing it. He was so pissed at the driver in front of him that Christian realized too late that someone was behind him.
"Mr. Grey..." Christian heard a man say.
And just as he was about to turn around to face his opponent, Christian felt something hard colliding with his head… And then, it became dark before his very eyes.
From afar, Christian heard voices, but he was too weak to open his eyes. His head ached tremendously, as if it was about to explode. As a sigh escaped his lips, he attempted to recollect what had happened. The last thing he remembered was him having a huge argument with detective Gia Matteo. She had been lying through her teeth! That, he was certain of. She did know something about Ana.
As the minutes crept by, Christian noticed that no one was talking anymore. While letting out deep breaths, he tried again to see his surroundings. As his eyes fluttered open slowly, he noticed that he was in a room. It was painted with bright colors; said room was neat and so clean. There was a dresser, a table and chairs, the curtains of the windows open. As rays of sunlight shone into the room, he realized that it wasn't night time anymore.
'How long was I unconscious?' were the words that swirled around in his head.
Christian carefully attempted to sit up, but his body wasn't cooperating. He then wondered if someone had drugged him or just hit him on the head. As his eyes darted around the room, he noticed that there was a toy in one of the corners of the room. It was part of a LEGO set.
'Where the fuck am I?' He thought, and attempted once more to sit up. He figured that the person or people who brought him here were at least not that cruel, as he wasn't tight up or got shoved into a ditch somewhere.
After trying at least three more times, he finally was able to sit up with much difficulty. As he carefully massaged his temples, he felt the head ache slowly fading away. God! That felt good.
After a little while, Christian got on his feet, though his knees were a bit wobbly, and walked towards the door. When he reached said door, he turned the doorknob, but it didn't budge.
"Great! So I am being held captive after all! Fuck." he cursed under his breath, and gritted his teeth.
He had to find a way to get out! The others must be worried sick! Oh, God... His little girl was surely asking for him, Luke and the others surely were already searching for him at this very moment.
"Luke probably had already informed the Police" he whispered." He and Gail must be worried sick about me"
After Ana went missing, four years ago, his best friend had been very protective of Christian and Aurora.
'I HAVE to get out' Christian thought.
Well, if he couldn't open this door, he might as well try to force it open. Christian walked to the dresser, and searched for a tool he could use. He was just about to open the second drawer, when the bedroom door swung open.
"Mr. Grey?" he heard a familiar, feminine voice say.
In response, Christian turned around and saw detective Matteo standing in the doorway.
SERIOUSLY? Her?!
"What the fuck am I doing here, Detective?" he spat, his voice raised, eyes boring into hers." And where the fuck is HERE?"
"Mr. Grey, we—"she began, but he angrily cut her off, while walking up to her.
"I'm getting out of here, now! Do you understand?" Christian shouted, while towering over her.
At this point, Gia had lost her patience with him." Would you just shut the fuck up? I want to explain why we brought you here!" she spat, while clenching her hands into fists.
"I do not want an explanation! I have to go home!" he shouted, while throwing a deadly glare at her." My daughter is waiting for me... And if you don't get out of my way now, you will regret it!"
Gia huffed at that, and reluctantly moved to let him walk pass her." We can't let you leave, Mr. Grey." She remarked, as he walked down the stairs.
At hearing that, Christian replied without even looking back at her." Watch me."
The moment he had reached the last step of the stairs, Detective Matteo knew she had to say something to stop him." You're right. I've been lying to you. I know where your wife is!"
As those words reached his ears, Christian abruptly stopped in his tracks, his hands instantly trembling, the weight of her words making different emotions clash inside of him.
He looked up at Gia, his heart beating so fast, as if it was about to leap out of his chest." What did you just say?" he asked, while staring at her, his voice low, the look on his face desperate.
