Suntory fell suddenly ill Friday night but insisted that she finish this by midnight tonight.
Writing is one of her greatest passions and even when she was bedridden, Suntory was brainstorming away for the finale of this piece. Between visits and naps we will be composing. Apologies that the epilogue took an extra day but she is currently on the mend. She was able to come home today and we thought it was best if she took some extra time to rest. -BlueNovaNF & SuntoryAngel

When a Gargoyle Falls
Epilogue:
Jai Ho!
"You sure this will work?" Mauve glanced over her shoulder to the open window where a duo colored young woman lay within a bed. "Seems a bit too good to be true."
A smile raised the lips of the young woman. "I have faith that it will work but it is solely up to you if it should be cast. You are members of the proud gargoyle race, I would not blame you if it was decided to not use it, but at least cast it upon objects so they can at least have a choice." She directed the rose hued gargoyle's gaze towards the side where a jewelry box sat. "A ring, necklace, anything that can be removed would work." The portal wavered. "Sorry, looks like I've run out of time. Tell the others I wish them well."
"You bet your butt I will. Shinsei!" Valentine smirked as the man with Damascus steel eyes appeared with a grunt. "Take care of her, you hear? Don't make me hunt you down if she gets worse."
"Let's see you do a better job keeping her in bed." With a roll of his eyes, he gave her a one handed salute and the little window closed.
A sigh slipped between her lips as she studied the paper that had passed through the portal. It looked complicated, a few pieces here and there were similar to the curse that had been cast upon the pair, but Asuka had assured her no harm would come to any who was touched by this spell. The rose hued female caught sight of her reflection as she passed by the mirror on her way to the next room. Curiosity rose as she examined herself for a moment, claws combing through golden locks as she stuck a pose. "Don't know if the world is ready for us yet. It's up to the clan to make the decision."
Through the beige sandstone hallways, around too many corners to count, past several relics worth millions that belonged in museums she went until she came to a stop before a familiar door. Her knuckles lightly tapped against the wood and ventured inwards when a call came for her to enter. The seemingly endless bookcases and shelves she passed were too tall for her to see over as she approached the workbench where a figure was bent over its surface with an expression of deep concentration. A manicured claw covered in a spiderweb pattern lightly tapped their shoulder. "How's it coming?"
Tools were placed off to the side with soft sounds against the wooden surface as he turned to face her, amethyst meeting mauve. The scents of sunshine and fresh linen had filled the air upon her entrance that was coming from what she was partially hiding behind her back. "How are Asuka and Shinsei?"
"Sharp as always." She chuckled, offering him the paper. "She sent us one last gift. I doubt we're ever going to see them again though."
He accepted the offered page, eyes scanning over its contents then grew wide. "Is it possible?"
"That's what I asked," the rose hued gargoyle took the seat beside him, her shoulder brushing his, "but that girl swore that it would do no harm. It sounds too good to be true, if you ask me, but you are our fearless leader. The choice is yours."
The offered support she was showcasing was appreciated, his shoulder lightly bumping against her own in response as his thanks. Before he could speak though was when the pair of double doors that she had just come through burst open courtesy of three gargoyles with wide eyes nearly wide enough they approached the pair that they may just pop out of the gargoyles's skulls.
No explanation was needed.
Like the wind itself, he departed from the vast library, traveling at such a speed that the naked human eye would fail to catch it until he slid to a stop in front of a door decorated with ribbons and small gifts that the clan had left as get well presents. He quickly stepped over them, the heart in his chest thundering louder within his ears as he cracked the door. The window was open, just as she would want it be, the sea foam colored curtains billowing in a breeze that caused the pure white canopy hanging over the mass of pillows to flutter slightly. Twin candles were lit beside the window, their flickering flames casting the room within their subtle golden glow as he stepped farther inside. With a soft click the door was closed with a press of his tail as he took another step. Amethyst eyes combed every inch of the space, noting that not a single thing was out of place than his visit the night before, and it was as he took the final step that brought him inches from the canopy opening that his breath caught. There, within the split of opaque fabric lay the chocolate haired woman with matching eyelashes fluttering open as a deep inhale sounded from her nose, her fair skin that had been pale now gaining color.
Sandalwood and cinnamon filled her senses as a shadow shifted closer, so large in size that most would flinch away or cower in fear, but she did not have to wait for her vision to clear as a pair of amethyst gems peeked from the crack of fabric. A muted giggle rose up her throat as her hand upon the sheets that were bundled around her twitched. "What…are you doing…all the way over…there?" Her voice cracked from exhaustion and strain from not being used but he would willingly listen to it on repeat like a song. The same hand that had twitched rose from the sheet, fingers spreading and reaching as if to pull the curtain back so as to see him was taken hold of and she gasped as he crossed the space. His arm wound around her form so that she was flush against his being, his lips pressed against her forehead. "I missed you too…Atem…sorry to make you wait…"
"You needed the rest," his whisper came huskily as a lump of emotion caught in his throat as he fell to his knees so that she could rest back against the pillows while still behind in his hold. "I am so relieved that you are awake, Anzu." Relief flooded him as her apricot and vanilla scent filled his nose. It had been absent the entire time she'd been unconscious that it was almost like a drug to him now as he fondly nuzzled her hair. "How are you feeling? Anything that you want or need?"
"Just you…" she nuzzled him back, a small smile raising her lips when the rumbling of a purr sounded from within his being. "As to how I feel…Ever been hit by a bus…then a train…?" Her lips rising into a bigger smile as a telltale rumble sounded from his chest. At least she could get a chuckle out of him. "I'll take that as a no. How long was I out?"
He shook his head, nose brushing against her own. "Does it truly matter?" Anzu's voice was growing steadier with each sentence she spoke and the weariness within her eyes was disappearing with each blink. Her strength was returning, causing another wave of relief to wash over him as one of her arms snaked around his neck to bring his upper torso closer to her own in a brief one-armed hug. Amethyst blinked curiously as she pulled back to stare up at him with hooded eyes, earning a tilt of his head. "What is it?"
"Be honest with me," her lips pursed as if she were attempting to blow a bubble with gum. "Were there multiple versions of you?"
A sideways smile raised his lips. "Thinking of trading with one of the other worlds?"
"No way!" She flinched from sitting up too fast, resting her head against his chest as he lowered her back to the pillows. "I would never trade you for a mummy, servant, or pharaoh. I'm more than happy with my gargoyle." The heart in his chest gave a violent thump, overflowing with affection and care for the young woman as her lips pecked his cheek. She had him help her sit up one more and shifted so that her legs hung over the mass of pillows. "I feel all sticky and gross. Think you could help me find a shower?"
"Of course." He rose to his feet, one of his wings scooping her up to take most of her weight, almost in the manner of a swing, as she hesitantly took a step while his hands grasped her own. "Take your time, there is no rush." Shadows moved near the window and just when he thought she hadn't noticed, her head tilted in its direction, a silent question of if they could make a detour, and he stealthily moved until she was hidden within the curtains.
A collective yelp rose as her hand slipped outward and took hold of two tunics with a swipe, bringing a familiar sand and mahogany gargoyle pair who looked up at her as if she were a ghost. Their wide eyes filled with tears as her hand smoothed the wrinkles she had caused then lightly flicked each of their noses. "I thought I told you guys to not let me catch you near my window. Guess the threat of my knuckle sandwich wasn't enough, huh?" They both combed a hand through her chocolate hair, earning a disgruntled laugh from her as tangles appeared in their wake.
The violet gargoyle's worry eased as a wide smile lifted her lips when the two were replaced by Yugi who had come to remove the pair. Her arms had brought the younger gargoyle as close to the window as possible, lilac and cerulean glittering as they conversed. Though their words were lost to Atem, the smiles from his clan as they called to her by name were engraved within his memory as she answered each with a silent tear that slid down her cheek. A promise was made that they would gather for a celebratory meal in honor of her recovery as she rested back against the dragon-like wing that carried her.
"Can I ask you to help me with something?"
"Name it."
Her fair cheeks tinted pink as she avoided his gaze when they turned to face the door. "It embarrassing. Forget I said anything."
Understanding crashed down on him like a ton of bricks, causing violet cheeks to warm but not gain a noticeable pink hue like hers. "Do you need me to call Valentine if you wish for assistance to bathe?"
Her hand rose, cupping his cheek. "No, no, don't bother her…"She shifted upwards as his arm took the wing's place to support her new position and felt a spark within his blood as her feather soft lips met the side of his neck. "…not when I have you here to help me instead."
"Then I shall take extra care." With a pivot, he turned away from the door to face the opposite wall where she blinked in surprise as instead of the immobile wall there was another door. He could not help but chuckle as she questioned her sanity. "While you were regaining your strength, our partnership with Kaiba has allowed some renovations to occur. Valentine herself saw to the rooms connected."
"Rooms? As in plural?" A hand drug down her face. "Let me guess, a whole other palace is on the other side of that door."
"She meant well but perhaps she went a bit overboard, judging from Kaiba's protest to the bill that he was left to deal with, but she swore they were essential." He shook his head while opening the door, revealing a forked entryway; to the left was a walk in closet that looked big enough to house a small village while to the right was what she had called the modern day's washroom. Everything within the room she chose to enter was either covered in sea foam tile or pure white granite with ribbons of metallic silver within the stone. "Now I can see what had him so upset with her. This all looks as though it would cost him a small fortune."
Running water and the air filling with warm vapor turned his attention to the large pristine tub that was on the far side of the room in time to spot her struggle with the bandages covering her arms. Cerulean met amethyst from over her shoulder, her blush darkening a shade. "Help me?" She waited with bated breath as he seemed to hesitate then exhaled as he crossed the room, eyes closing as his claws began to remove each bandaid and piece of gauze from her being until all that was left was the nightgown that she had found herself in.
He sensed her hesitation as she turned off the water with a twist of her wrist. She had said that she wanted his assistance, his help, but perhaps she was second guessing? A wobble of her leg as she took a step towards the tub side nearly sent her to floor if not for his quick catch. Not another word was spoken as she turned in his embrace to face away from him, allowing the fabric covering her to bunch as she lifted her arms. It was lifted from her form as he helped her step into the water and settled behind the tub as she rested against the tub's back. A blissful sigh came from between her lips as his claws began to work through her hair.
The lights that had turned on upon their entrance dimmed, allowing the pale moonlight coming in through the skylight above their heads become their main source. Even in the weak lighting her skin seemed to glow as she simply laid within the warm water. Her every breath that raised her chest caused the water around her to ripple and the light to dance across her skin. What had been covered by bandages was newly healed pink skin. There may be a few scars here an there but at least she was whole.
A blue hued bottle was retrieved by his tail from the nearby shelf, a coin sized droplet added to the bath that filled the space with the scents of calming water lily and eucalyptus. It earned a soft hum from the young woman as she relaxed farther. "That smells nice."
"A gift," he whispered lowly, placing it back upon its shelf, "from the world of the mummy pharaoh; his bride sends it in hopes that you recover quickly."
She sighed as the scents seemed to dance through the air on the wisps of vapor rising from the water around her. Soothing, subtle, yet just strong enough to make one's mind fill with the sight of a glittering river with floating flowers. Her hand rising to rest upon his own cause his movements to come to a halt. "Was I really taken over by the goddess Isis then waged war against Ryuo- I mean Bakura?"
"It was not your fault, Anzu, you were driven mad by the news of your friend's demise that it would have given any deity opportunity to posses a mortal." His arm wrapped around her shoulders. "You loss was great and none blame or point their fingers at you."
"…Ryuo?…"
Amethyst closed. "It appeared that the boy who he took over perished some time ago. Kaiba himself went to identify the body that the police had found within the rubble and his words left little to the imagination. Bakura must have been animating him for at least a decade." His hold tightened as she quaked, her head falling back with a sob as his other arm enclosed around her when she nearly slid beneath the water's surface. The salt of her tears mixed with the water as she wept, the large crystalline tears spilling down her cheeks.
"I have nothing left…"
"You will always have the clan." Getting wet was not a concern of his so he readily collected her within his arms as she turned and slipped over the tub's brim to curl into a ball against his chest.
. . . .
The commotion of those preparing food within the kitchen became meaningless background noise as just above the wind's whistle the gargoyles could hear her sob. Valentine made to depart the room, as if to go to the young woman whose heart was weeping for the loss of her friends, but was held back by a lavender hand. If they were to go she would be overwhelmed. "It's best that we leave them be for now. Atem will take care of her. For now, let's keep working here." She nodded and turned back to face him instead of the door as he held up a handful of pendants. "Just a few more steps and it'll be ready."
. . . .
Though it had taken time, he helped her back into the bath to finish washing, his motions careful and thoughtful as he helped her reach the areas she couldn't. The water was foggy with the soaps and bubbles when she finally rose from it's depths and accepted the plush robe that he wrapped her within. Dimmed lights brightened back to their normal level as they approached the closet fork and it was then that she assured him she could dress on her own, slipping from his grasp and disappearing behind its door. He leaned against the wall, eyes closing as he honed his hearing so that even beyond the draining water's noise he could hear the woman in the next room moving around closely followed by the sounds of drawers opening then closing. It wasn't until silence had fallen for longer than several seconds did his eyes fly open. The door was nearly rendered to splinters as he slipped inside and gently took hold of her wrist that was holding a pair of scissors that clattered to the floor as he removed them from her fingers.
"Everyone I've cared for is gone! My parents, my friends, it hurts so much!"
Large wings enclosed around them both as she clung to him, her being trembling as if she were about to shatter into a million pieces if he didn't do something fast as her gaze refused to meet his own. "You will always have me, Anzu, so please do not resort to that." A tilt of her being brought her tear stained face up towards his own, violet lips meeting peach hued fleetingly as he held her tighter when a wail slipped up her throat.
Her breath caught in a gasp, cerulean finally meeting amethyst as she reached up and touched her lips. "Say it to me again," she whispered, wrapping her arms around his neck so that their foreheads could meet. "What you said before and just now…I need to hear it."
He didn't have to question what she meant, it was there within her gaze. One of his hands rose to cradle the back of her head, tilting it ever so slightly so that their breaths could ghost across each other's lips. "I, Atem, clan leader of the gargoyles, am in love with you, Anzu Mazaki," he whispered, nuzzling his nose against hers, "my heart is forever yours, nothing in this world or the next can change that."
Peach lips met violet as she tightened her hold, causing amethyst to grow wide with surprise but only for a moment as they slid closed with a growing purr that rose within his chest. Her hands rose to entangle themselves within his ebony hair that earned a groan when her fingernails brushed against his sensitive scalp. His legs crossed beneath her, allowing Anzu to shift farther upwards so that her chest met his own and to allow her the opportunity to wrap slim legs around his waist. Hips met as the burning need for oxygen forced their lips to part, a pink tint entering cheeks as their hooded gazes met, the closeness of the other filling their senses with a cocktail of scents that farther warmed the blood in their veins as cerulean darkened to lapis and amethyst to cerise. "Never let go?" she whispered hoarsely as the loose tie of the robe came undone, allowing the upper portion of her shoulders and chest to become visible.
His answer was another press of his lips against hers, the lids of their eyes closing as passion caused multicolored sparks to fill their veins. The fire was spreading across his body with each gasp of his name, her back arching when his lips fell to caress the sensitive skin of her slender neck, hips meeting in a slow grind as her legs tightened around him. A breath caught in his throat, coming out as a choke, when her own lips fell to attack his own neck and left burning trails in their wake.
She could feel every breath, purr, even the beat of his heart as he writhed from her ministrations. Something had grown beneath her, the knowledge she'd acquired from the multitude of romance novels all but spelling out what it was, but it was the woman within that guided her to tread carefully as she rolled her hips against it. Pride welled within her chest for a moment as his head fell to rest upon her shoulder with a growl. The motion was repeated, earning a drawn out groan of her name as the hardness now pressing against her womanhood twitched.
The robe fell with a tug of his claw, revealing her full bare being to him as his eyes strained to open. Fair cheeks were flushed, lapis eyes filled with a passionate haze, her hands falling from his hair to lightly drag down his torso leaving faint trails within the tunic he wore. The purring within his chest deepened as a new scent filled his nose, one that was tangy but sweet all the same as he lowered her to the floor. Where was it coming from? It was driving him to the brink of his sanity.
She allowed him to rest her backwards, her back meeting the carpeted floor, head tilting in curiosity as his nose trailed across her body as if looking for something. "Atem?" Just before her world was overcome by darkness she saw the ring of fiery passion around his dilated pupils. Instinct had taken over him but she was not afraid. If anything: it thrilled the young woman.
His hand appeared over her eyes as his other hand ghosted over her chest, eliciting a catch of her breath when the warmth of his hands caused the nipples of her breasts to perk. A subtle squeak slipped from her as one of the cream colored mounds met the palm of his hand but it dissolve into a sigh as curious lips fell to wrap around its nub. Slim legs wrapped around his waist once more, this time much tighter as her arms prevented him from moving away, but his hand remained against her eyes as she rocked beneath him. The placement of his hand was not simply to ask for her trust, for her to submit to him, it was means for him to allow his weight to settle on the bent arm so as not to allow his bulk to accidentally crush her.
Her head tossed as his hot wet tongue circled like a predator then drug itself slowly across the nub. "A-A-ah!"
The hand over her eyes fell to press a digit against her lips. There were others who might be near so the thought of them hearing her sweet cries and not solely him was enough to make him take a moment to pause and listen. A nod of her head portrayed her understanding; she too did not want the others to hear. His hand rose once more to cover her eyes, earning a shake of her head, and cerise locked upon her own hand that rose to place itself within his hand's vacated place upon her eyes.
"I like it here, in the dark…with you…" she whispered, the other hand rising to trail her fingers along the length of his arm.
As if on command, the lights above them turned off, plunging them into near pitch black if not for the flickering candlelight of the next room. It danced across their forms as he shifted his attention to the other mound, earning a gasp and soft moan from between her lips as it too met his tongue. Nocturnal vision was key now, noting that her hand though had wandered from its place to cling to the carpet as her back arched but her eyes were still clenched shut.
Lower, his instinct hissed, that which you smell is lower.
He froze as she suddenly grew rigid, her back arching so far off the carpet that he for a moment feared that she would snap like a twig if not for the expression of wonton bliss on her face as a suppressed cry rose up her throat. What had caused that? A glance downward revealed the culprit: his tail had snuck between them to rest upon the fold of her womanhood, its tip just barely within the slit's entrance. Against his will, it slowly drew a circle around the nub it had found, and found himself being yanked up so that their lips could meet in a heated kiss that cutoff her moan of his name. Each drawn out circle that it made earned him a choked sound from the young woman, the blood in his veins roaring with hunger as her parted lips allowed his greedy tongue to invade her mouth that battled against her own until it too submitted as the rest of her body had.
"…more…" she whispered, the coil within her abdomen that had been tightening and growing warm begging for release. "…Atem…please…." Stars erupted behind her closed eyelids as the thing that had been rubbing and teasing her brushed against the entrance of her most sensitive place.
With great restraint, he withdrew the tip of his tail, finding it dripping with the source of this new scent, and felt the stiffness between his legs become unbearable when she writhed and pleaded him to not stop. He did not want to hurt her, nor did he want to take away the thing that all maidens bestowed upon their beloved, but just as he was about to put a stop to everything he found himself mesmerized by a pair of lapis stars that had cracked open to find them burning brightly with lust. Who was he to deny her? The tip of his tail seemed to eagerly bury itself back between her folds, trailing itself across the length of her womanly flesh but taking care to not enter the moist cavern it had discovered earlier.
Violet lips were crushed by peach ones as she arched, sparks and indescribable feelings washing over the pair as the pitch of her sounds rose higher with each motion of his tail. Her arms that had wrapped around his neck fell so that her hands to cling to his shoulders as she began rocking in an ancient rhythm that spoke of her closeness to the brink of oblivion. The hand clenched into a fist beside her head that was his support dug into the carpet so that they would not harm her flesh as her motions caused the hardness now pinned between their beings filled with pressure. A near incoherent plea for "faster" fell from her parted lips that caused his pupils to become slits and motions to quicken, but the heart in his chest combusted as her hand snaked between them to take a hold of his throbbing flesh.
Their lips met once more as both tumbled over the edge of sanity, neither caring as stars fell alongside them as white filled their minds, all motions and movements falling still as their shared orgasm washed over them in crashing waves; hungry lips softened into affectionate kisses, arms wrapping around one another as he rested beside her, their heavy breathing quieting until their burning lungs were relieved with new oxygen. The fire within their veins simmered then faded as they lay within each other's embrace.
Her fingers rose to caress his face as he purred lowly, nuzzling her hair. "I love you too, my king of gargoyles." Cerulean met amethyst as she kissed the tip of his nose. "But I think we might need another bath. We kind of made a mess," she giggled, what some would call a sound of disappointment rising of her throat as his tail withdrew as she eyed it with a narrowed gaze. "So that's what was down there." Her palm met his rumbling chest as he chuckled then kissed the top of her head. It died and become a growl as she tugged on his head, bringing it back down so that her lips met his. "I'll get you back for that, Atem, just you watch."
"I look forward to it," he smirked, rolling to lay on his back as she rose to stand and disappeared within the neighboring washroom once more. What she didn't see was the subtle wagging of his tail as if it were declaring itself victor as he stared down at it in deep thought. How interesting that something like that could earn him-
"Stop thinking about it and get in here already unless you want the others to find out what happened just now. Or am I going to have to take my vengeance on you when we're in public?"
With widened eyes, though he was curious and tempted to experience the latter, he too rose and joined her in the next room as running water sounded.
. . . .
Yugi was the first to smell their approach, hurrying to the double doors and opening them in time to sweep her up in a tight embrace. "Took you long enough!" He grinned, narrowing his gaze as through the heavily scented soap lay something else. "Oh, so that's what you were up to." The smile he wore became one of happiness when her cheeks tinted pink.
"Should have known that your nose couldn't be fooled," she whispered, clasping his hands. "Please don't say anything."
"As if I would. That kind of news only you two can share." His hands cupped her face, earning a squeak as he lightly squished her cheeks. "Besides, now I get to tease you more." He quickly released her as cerulean sparked and enveloped her in another embrace. "I'm just glad you're okay."
She returned his embrace with one of her own "You and me both."
"Guess this means the other two owe Valentine for losing the bet."
The violet gargoyle, who had been watching the exchange closely, narrowed his gaze upon the pair as they hung their heads. "Explain."
"Those two suckers didn't have a chance." Anzu was swept up in rose hued arms, mauve shinning with approval at the choice of a fitted white vest overtop a tea length dress that was similar in shade to the clan leader. "So," she dropped her voice to a whisper while pulling the young woman to the side, "tell me all the dirty details. How was he?"
Heat erupted from fair cheeks as they became stained red by a vivid blush. "I- You- What-" the young woman glanced at Atem from the corner of his eye, noting that he too was now surrounded by the other males with a dusting of pink in his own cheeks; he must have been asked the same question. "N-nothing happened! Just a little heart-to-heart is all!"
"If that's true then why do I smell him all over you?"
"He was kind enough to help me bathe!"
Mauve twinkled. "Twice?"
"Enough, all of you." The elder called, rescuing both and bringing them to the center of the room where the long table was waiting. "You two must be starved after your little romp in the sack-"
They bristled. "Solomon!"
"-but now is the time to celebrate." He raised a crystal goblet above his head, casting tiny rainbows throughout the room as the others joined him. "In memory of her departed friends, we drink; In honor of the bravery shown by all during the battle, we drink; In celebration to Anzu's speedy recovery, we drink." All tipped back their heads, the liquid within each draining between their lips and earning sounds of approval when their goblets ran dry.
Valentine and Yugi entered the center of the room, silence falling as each curiously took note of the pair's gazes locked upon Atem. "Clan leader, with your permission, will you allow us to cast the spell?"
His head bobbed. "Granted."
"What's going on?" Anzu asked as she was pulled forward to stand before the pair. The only explanation she received was that this was the last gift that was sent by Asuka and Shinsei. Her eyes grew wide as her hands were cupped to receive seven pendants made of a black stone. "Obsidian?"
"Very good," the rose hued gargoyle female praised, "now hold still." A paper was procured from the table, her hand rising to hover over the pile of rock while Yugi's hand joined hers.
"Tuam formam carnis abice, loco novam indue. Alae tuae pro fuga et evanescunt. Solus in crepusculi radii redibunt, vel cum huius rei remotio a collo tuo sublevetur!"
The stones within her hands became near unbearably hot as the spell fell upon them with stardust, each gaining a similar color to that of the gargoyles around her as they levitated. Thick cords were wrapped around each save for the lone which remained before her. Awe filled her as each gargoyle received one in turn of each other and in showers of each of their colors; wings and talons gave way to fingers and smooth skin as roars gave way to human shouts as the males grew taller and the lone female slightly shorter. Her concern and worry fell away as the lights faded, leaving her at a loss for words as they rushed to enclose her within a huddle-like embrace.
. . . .
Cerulean glanced down at her phone, blinking when she found it to be nearly eight o'clock. "Come on, you slow pokes, the party starts soon." Her eyes narrowed as a group of men approached, fingers rising to brush against the scarab ring on her left hand when they invaded her personal space. "Can I help you with something or are you guys just itching to be knocked to the ground by someone smaller?"
"Kokurano Toei sends his invitation for you to join him tonight." The taller one sneered, a flip of his wrist revealing the pistol attached to his hip.
"And if I say no?"
He chuckled darkly. "I'm afraid we will have to insist."
Unbeknownst to them, the sun was just starting to set and a group that had appeared from down the street hurried when they saw her being forced near a heavily tinted black SUV. The head who was fastest, a tanned man with amethyst eyes, was just in time to snatch her from their confinement. "There you are, love, I apologize for making you wait." Pupils became slits as the men attempted to take her back, sharp fangs appeared from between his lips as a growl sounded that caused them to hesitate. She clung to him with relief as he moved her away from the vehicle, the group that had caught up also fixing the men with narrowed gazes as each's lip curled to show matching fangs to their leader's.
The men quickly took their leave, despite the odd fashion and appearance of the group.
"Don't tell me you lost track of time playing in the arcade again- mph!" Lips meeting her own turned the disgruntled statement into a blissful sigh. "No fair, you can't just butter me up so I'm not mad at you for being late."
His hand lifted her left, lips brushing against the ring he himself had placed upon her finger, a smirk in place as she pouted. "Come now, Anzu, we are about to have a night of enjoyment."
A gorgeous woman with a large bust about to spill out of her corset with long golden wavy locks and mauve eyes snatched the young woman from his grasp. "I've gotten real acquainted with this era's spirits so I'm more than ready to drink the night away!"Arm in arm, they entered the large skyscraper leaving the rest to follow closely behind.
Anzu accepted the mic that was passed, slipping from Valentine's hold with promise to return shortly, and hoped up onto the platform where the Kaiba brothers stood. "Welcome to the Kaiba Corporation Halloween Extravaganza! Tonight is the final night so you all better be prepared for one heck of a party!" Her arm wrapped around Mokuba's shoulders, her cheek meeting his as music began to play. "This number goes out to my new family. They took me under their wing when I had nowhere else to go and were kind to me in ways that I can't begin to express thanks for." Cerulean met each of their gazes until they fell upon amethyst. "You may be a long way from home but maybe, just for one night, we can bring it to New York." Her finger twisted the scarab on the ring once clockwise.
"I got shivers when you touch me face, I'll make you hot, get all you got, I'll make you wanna say:"
The crowd of people cheered as with a flare of a curtain, the trio vanished from sight in a flash of light then were replaced by three gargoyle's; one navy, one periwinkle, and the other peach. It wasn't only them that underwent a transformation.
