It had been two weeks since their last date and with the long weekend coming up, it was the perfect excuse to spend some alone time together. Diane had suggested their next date be at her place and Wolf certainly didn't object. He was itching to have some private time with her, especially after their last...encounter.

Wolf felt his face get hot just thinking about how intimate things had gotten the last time they were alone. The smell of her fur. How she reciprocated his forward gestures and her touch making him like putty in her hands. His stomach doing flips at even a gentle peck on the cheek. Perhaps he was being too hopeful but he did wish for more moments like that.

'But even if things don't heat up' Wolf thought as he pulled up to Diane house. 'I still get to be alone with Diane for a few hour'

Wolf wouldn't admit it to anyone but he had been giddy to see Diane the past few days. So when he rang the doorbell, he was taken aback as he was greeted at the door by Diane still in her work suit. Not that he was judging, it was obviously her house, she could dress how she wanted. But seeing that her tie was undone, fur disheveled and clothes slightly wrinkled was concerning. And Wolf got the sense that she was somewhat irritated today. However, Diane's attitude quickly changed when she saw him.

"Wolf! Hi w-what are you doing here?" she asked beconing him to come inside.

"Uh we were going to hang out today, remember?" he replied

"Very funny Wolf, we both know we're hanging out Friday." she chuckled crossing her arms

"It...is Friday, Diane"

"What? No it's not it's…it's..." As Diane pulled out her phone she saw that the date indeed read Friday. Her face slowly grew into a mortified look

"Oh my God…oh my God! Wolf, I am so sorry I completely forgot."

"Heh," Wolf softly chuckled "It's OK-"

"I've just been bombarded with paper work concerning Marmalades assets and the press conferences..." Diane began to pace back and forth across the living room

"Diane..."

"and I've had to attend meeting after meeting, some going well into the night..."

"Dianeeeeeee..."

"and there was this infuriating councilman who had the gaul to suggest that I'm not fit to be mayor since the whole fiasco happened under my wa-"

"DIANE!" Wolf grabbed her shoulders to face him. "It's o...kay. I'm not mad. I'm not upset. Just take a deep breath and relax." he said slowing releasing her

Diane took a deep breath and exhaled. He was right. She needed to relax. She just couldn't believe she had forgotten all about their date. Did he get the impression that she was carless when it came to their time together. Diane cringed. She really was looking forward to having Wolf all to herself but...God the days had just been running together lately.

"Look, you obviously seem pretty high strung so if you need to rain check I can leave-"

"NO!" Diane's hands reached to the sides of his face. Wolf tensed at the sudden physical contact.

"I-I mean...we had a date planned for today a-and I really could use the company so please...stay." She gazed up at him with big doe eyes. A sight that was enough to make his tail twitch. He smirked.

"Alright, alright" he said gently removing her hands from his face. "Tell you what, you go shower and put on your comfiest clothes and I'll order us some takeout."

"Really?"

"Yeah, it's still early and we've got a whole night ahead of us. Take your time."

"Uh okay," Diane exhaled as she began to make her way upstairs. "Well make yourself at home...but try not to steal any of my stuff." she joked. Wolf gave an exaggerated gasp.

"Madam governor! You wound me with such an implication."

She giggled before disappearing upstairs

Wolf sighed sitting down on Diane's cream colored couch. He heard the water start upstairs as he got off the phone with local Chinese restaurant. Laying back in the cushions he waited for the food to arrive. He let his eyes wander as his senses took in the home around him. The calm and quietness of everything aside from sound of the showing running. How Diane's house smelled of cinnamon and vanilla. And on top of it all, everything was neat and clean. He noticed a bookcase directly across the living. Getting up, he walked over to inspected it contents. Dragging a finger across a row of books, he snorted. Of course it was alphabetized. Looking down to the next row he spotted a deck of playing cards resting atop of a set of novel.

"Oh hello," Wolf whispered, grinning to himself as a picked up the deck

The sound of the doorbell pulled him from his brewing thoughts. The food was here. Bringing the food inside, Wolf set it on Diane's kitchen island and got to work plated their food. He remembered that damn good wine he had last time he was here and decided to pour them some glasses. His ears perked up as he heard Diane descending stairs. She wore a teal satin tank top with matching shorts. And they were certainly...short. Wolf gulped, blushing as his tail slowly moved from side to side

She sighed with content, sashaying up to Wolf's side. She wrapped and arm around his waist and rested her head on his shoulder.

"Thank you for waiting, everything smells really good"

He layed a kiss upon her head. "Only the best for Mayor Foxington." Diane gave a hum of approval

"And I see you helped yourself to my wine." she teased bringing her plate and glass over to a spot on the couch.

"Hey, every romantic dinner need wine and you have such prestigious taste it would be an insult if we didn't dabble in a glass or two." He replied, following behind her

"Uh huh," Diane rolled her eyes while trying to hide the smile on her face.

"Besides, look what I found." he sang, presenting the deck of cards

"Wow, never took you for a gambler, Wolf." Diane said between her bites of food. "But I'll totally destroy you anyway."

"Okay, I'm going to ignore that very wrong statement. And come on, we're not gambling. Just a normal game of cards for some quality bonding."

"Bonding huh...alright then, how about a round of 21 questions while we're at. Keep things interesting."

Wolf groaned as he sipped his wine. "Ugh, you lost me with that one."

"Whaaaaaat? 21 questions is fun. It gets conversations started and you get to learn all kinds of juicy details about people."

Wolf raised an eyebrow, "Like what your favorite color is?"

"You mean you weren't curious to know?" Diane said with a fake pout. "Please, just one round. For me."

Wolf laughed, "Fine, I'll bite. A game of cards and I guess I can handle one round of 21 questions. But no kiddie questions, I want in on these 'juicy details' you speak of."

"Deal"

As they finished their dinner, Wolf pulled out the cards and began shuffling the deck. Diane took the plates to the kitchen and returned with the bottle of wine.

"Well if we're going to play cards and spill our dirty little secrets, we'll need some refills, won't we?" Diane topped off Wolf's glass before handing it back to him.

"I like the way you think Diane." Wolf said, dealing the cards between the two of them.

"Alright," Diane plopped back down on the couch, resting a leg on Wolf's hip as he sat across from her. "Question one..."
