Upon returning to the World of Pokemon, The Cyber Sleuths and co learn that Ben and Summer were attacked by a mysterious group in Kalos. The other Rangers went to search for them, but all went MIA. Now accompanied by Rand, Sven, and Wendy, our heroes reach Lumiose City, to look for a detective that was the last person to see Ben and Summer.

Takumi and Ami walked down the streets of Lumiose City. "What a nice city this is." Ami smiled.

"It is." Takumi replied. "But we're not here for a vacation. We need to find the detective. She was the last person to see Ben and Summer."

"Yeash, you're too serious bro. I hope having a cheerful, playful girlfriend like a certain redhead we know might fix that eventually."

Takumi's cheeks burned. "Shhh! Not so loud!"

"Oh relax! Nobody here knows you two! Why hide your relationship with her anyway?"

"We're just not ready to have everybody talking about it, okay?"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, does that mean you two are hiding it from Makiko? Bro, if she finds out, you're yesterday's toast!"

"No, we told her shorty after I met Nokia's parents."

"Oh? How'd that go?"

"Well, the parents were happy for us, and Makiko congratulated us before threating to throw me into a jail cell hogtied, gagged with a daikon radish and with a sack tied over my head if I did anything…wrong to Nokia, so…yeah."

Ami blinked. "Huh. She took that better than I thought."

Takumi glanced to the side. "I know, right? I'm surprised she just threatened to tie my limbs instead of breaking them."

"Excuse me." A blond woman approached them from behind. "Might I ask you two for a favor?"

"What's wrong?" Ami asked.

"I lost my purse in one of the alleyways. Can you help me find it?"

"We're kind of busy at the moment." Takumi sighed.

"Oh, come on Takumi, we can't just ignore someone who needs help. Besides, the others are on the search too, we can spare one team for a bit."

"Alright, alright. Do you know which alleyway you lost it in?"

"Yes. Please follow me." They followed the woman down the streets. As they approached the alleyway Takumi and Ami heard their goggles ping and put them on. Terriermon and Palmon started whispering to them.

The woman stopped in a large open area between buildings. "It was somewhere around here. Please help me find it."

Takumi and Ami lifted their goggles from their eyes. "Can I ask you a few things first?" Takumi asked.

"What is it?"

"Why would you be in an empty space like this, and how would you lose your purse here?"

"Oh, well…I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing you see. My mind tends to wander, and I got lost. It happens to people all the time in this large city."

"That doesn't explain how you lost your purse." Ami replied.

"I…I don't know! Like I said my mind was wandering! Next thing I knew my purse was gone!"

"Mmmhmm." Takumi murmured. "Alright, one more question."

"W-what?!"

"How come our little friends are sensing electronic waves all over you like you're a digital being?"

The woman didn't answer. "You can't fool us." Ami glared. "Why don't you show us what you really look like!"

The woman scowled and backflipped a distance from them. Her body glowed white and started to shift. Takumi and Ami were face to face with someone in a black suit of armor with a helmet that had an orange face with a E on it. "You're pretty sharp. Nobody's ever seen through the Expansion Suit's disguise function before."

"Strange suit she's got there." Ami muttered to Takumi. "Do you think she's part of that group that attacked Ben and Summer?"

"Who are you?" Takumi asked.

"I am Essentia."

"What do you want with us?"

"I'll ask the questions. Why are you here, and what were those creatures you flew in on? They aren't Pokemon, I know that much."

"That doesn't concern you." Takumi turned around. "Come on Ami, we have work to do."

"Right. Coming." As they two of them started to turn away, Essentia took out two Pokeballs and threw them.

"Watch out!" Terriermon and Palmon emerged from their Digivices. They blocked two Pokemon charging at them.

Takumi scanned them. "A Crobat and a Malmamar. A Flying/Poison and a Dark/Psychic Pokemon."

"I don't think she's just going to let us leave guys." Palmon said.

Essentia looked at her. "It talks? It definitely is no Pokemon then…"

"I don't want to fight you." Takumi said. "We don't have time for this."

"Too bad." Essentia replied. "If you aren't going to talk, then I'm gonna have to make you! Crobat! Malmamar!"

Ami sighed as the Pokemon charged again. "Alright, I guess we're doing this now!"

DIGIVOLUTION

"Terriermon Double Warp Digivolve to…BlackMetalGarurumon!"

"Palmon Double Warp Digivolve to…Ophanimon!"

The Pokemon stopped. "What was that?!" Essentia gasped. "Some kind of…evolution?! Crobat, Malmamar! Be careful!"

"Shining Laser!" Ophanimon held her hands up and light shined down around the area. The Crobat flew out of the way.

"That thing sure is fast." Ami said.

"I'm on it." Takumi replied. "BlackMetalGarurumon!"

"Speed Break Field!" Takumi's Digimon howled and both of Essentia's started to slack.

"Crobat, Haze!" Essentia's Pokemon emitted a strange vapor that brought their speed back to normal.

"A move that cancels any stat modifications." Takumi growled. "Guess we do this the hard way! Take the bat out of the sky!"

"Ice Wolf Claw!" BlackMetalGarurumon fired missiles everywhere. Crobat dodged as many as it could, but one or two hit it and it dropped.

"Malmamar! Night Slash on the black one!"

"Ophanimon, intercept!" Ami yelled. The Malmamar charged at BlackMetalGarurumon, but Ophanimon swooped in and blocked it with her shield. "Aim low!"

Ophanimon pointed at it's lower body with her weapon. "Holy Light!" A golden explosion blasted it and knocked it off balance.

Essentia. "They're both good at giving orders. I have to stop them from giving commands!"

Takumi pointed at the Crobat. "Alright BlackMetalGarurumon, now-

"Takumi, look out!" Ami yelled.

Takumi looked up to see Essentia charging right at him. She threw a punch that he blocked with his hand. She swept her leg at his feet, but he jumped over it and thrusted his palm in her helmet knocking her back.

Ami saw them break into hand-to-hand combat. "Takumi!"

"Ami, get back! You know what to do!"

Ami nodded. "Right!" She put on her Digivice.

BlackMetalGarurumon dodged Crobat best as he could before he got nicked with Poison Fang. "I could use some strategic advice here Takumi!"

Takumi deflected a punch to get kicked in the torso, rolling him back on the floor. "I'm a little busy right now!" he grunted as he got on his feet in time to jump back as Essentia jump kicked towards him.

The Malamar rammed at Ophanimon with Superpower. When she blocked it with her shield it batted it aside with Night Slash with one arm and the other got a hit in on her. She tried to fly upwards to get some distance, but Crobat rammed into her. "Even without their Trainer's orders, their attacks are perfectly organized and thought out!" BlackMetalGarurumon scowled. "How is this possible?!"

Essentia grabbed Takumi's arm and pulled it behind his back. Takumi grunted in discomfort before using his free arm to elbow her. She grunted but grabbed his other arm and pulled both hands roughly behind his back. He then stomped on her foot and kicked his heel into her thigh. As her grip on his hands slipped, he roundhouse kicked her. She backflipped into the air and landed on her feet. "That armor makes her acrobatic." Takumi thought. "But she clearly is self-taught. Good thing I decided to take martial arts lessons back home. I'd say my odds of winning this are 50-50…But I don't need to win. Just stall for time."

Essentia charged at Takumi again. She flipped over him and landed behind him, throwing a punch. He caught that one and then when Essentia tried to hand chop him her caught her other hand by the wrist. They grappled for a minute or two. Ami was rapidly typing inputs. Through her goggles, she saw schematics of Essentia's suite. "Come on, come on…There!" Her finger hit one last button.

Suddenly Essentia's body froze. "W-what the-I can't move!"

Takumi sighed, let go of her arms and stepped back. His opponent was frozen like a statue. "Took you long enough."

"Hey, you're lucky I had Arata teach me hacking. By the way, you're welcome!" Ami replied. "As for you…" She typed in a few inputs.

"What? Hey!" Essentia slowly got on her knees against her will and put her hands behind her back.

"If you two are done dealing with the armored ninja, how's about helping us over here?!" BlackMetalGarurumon said, franticly dodging Malmamar's attacks.

Takumi and Ami watched them fight. Ami looked at Essentia. "Those two are moving way to accurately to be fighting on their own. How are you giving them orders while fighting us?"

"You're smart, figure it out!"

BlackMetalGarurumon and Ophanimon jumped back before the Pokemon charged again. "Takumi! Ami!" Everyone looked up to see Rand jump off Summer's Staraptor. "Falcomon, go!" A bright red aura surged around him as a word appeared on his Styler lens.

DIGIVOLUTION

He fired the Styler and swirled it around Falcomon. A bright light engulfed him. "Falcomon Double Warp Digivolve to…" He transformed into a humanoid figure with a red mast, a wing and a katana. "Ravemon!"

"Another one?!" Essentia gasped.

Rand and Ravemon landed in front of the Pokemon. Ravemon took out his Katana and trusted it into the ground. "Celestial Blade!" Purple Lightning came out of the sword that stunned the Crobat and the Malmamar.

"Hey, guys!" Wendy arrived on her Staraptor with Sven, Summer's Staraptor and Ukulele Pichu landed with them.

"Rand!" Takumi gasped before looking at the Digimon. "You can Digivolve Falcomon?"

"That's right." The Digimon said sheathing his blade. "Rand sometimes catches Pokemon for me to practice with when Nema's busy."

"Nema also used the data she got from working with your Digivices to modify my Styler." Rand said. "Now I can use it to Digivolve Falcomon like you kids."

"And you already can make him go all the way to Mega!" Ami smiled. "Nice!"

"Thanks for the help Rand." Takumi said before turning to Essentia. "As for you…"

"Gah…!" She tried to move, but her suit felt like it was locked in place.

"Mraaaaer!" A Espur ran in front of her.

"Huh? A Pokemon?" Ami asked.

"Mimi, stay back!" Essentia yelped.

"That's a Espur." Sven said. "Does it belong to her?"

Takumi scanned it. "A powerful Psychic Pokemon…Now I get it! While you were fighting me, you had this little guy give telepathic commands to your Pokemon. That's how they were able to fight so orderly without you."

Pichu's ears perked up. "Pichu!" He ran over to the Pokemon.

"Huh? What's up Pichu?" Rand asked.

The Espur looked at it. And the Staraptor as it approached. Then it gasped. "Mraaawr!"

Essentia looked at Pichu oddly. Then she saw what was on its back. "That ukulele…!" She glared at Rand. "Where did you find this Pichu?!"

"Who's asking?" Takumi asked as he walked over to her and pulled her helmet off. "What the…" He saw the face of a young girl with long black hair and blue eyes. "You're just a kid!"

"Hey! I'm not just some kid! I'm in charge of the Looker Bureau!"

"Looker Bureau?" Wendy asked. "Wait…a name like that sounds like a detective agency…"

Ami looked at Pichu and Staraptor. "Guys, is this her? The detective we're looking for?" The two Pokemon nodded.

"What? You were looking for me?" the girl asked.

"Yes, that's right." Takumi replied. "My name is Takumi Aiba. This is my sister, Ami Aiba. And that's Rand, Sven and Wendy, they're Pokemon Rangers."

"Pokemon Ranger…" Emma murmured. "Like Ben and Summer?"

"Looks like this is the detective we're looking for alright." Rand said. "Ben and Summer are our friends. They helped us a lot in Oblivia a year ago."

"You know them?"

"I can prove it." Takumi pulled up a picture from his Digivice. It was an image of him, Ami, and everyone from their world and their Digimon along with Ben, Summer, the other Pokemon Rangers, and staff that joined them in Oblivia, including Rand's family and all Partner Pokemon, Ralph, Nick, Booker, and the Royal Knights gathered in front of the prop Rainbow Dais.

Ami made another input with her Digivice and Essentia felt her suit unlock. "Sorry about that." Ami said. "You see the reason we came to Kalos is because we were asked to look for Ben and Summer."

"They've gone missing after they were sent to this region two weeks back." Takumi said.

"What? They're missing?" the girl asked.

"I'm afraid so." Once Essentia was back on her feet, Takumi held her helmet to her. "Our only clue is that they were given information by a detective in this city before going MIA. So, we thought that might be a good place to start. That detective is you, right Essentia?"

The girl stood up and gently took her helmet back. "My name is Emma. And yes, I did meet Ben and Summer here two weeks ago."

"I see." Wendy said. "Emma, please tell us what you know. Everyone's been worried ever since Pichu and Staraptor returned to Ranger Union without their partners. And we fear a dangerous enemy attacked them."

Takumi kneaded to her, so he was at her height. "I owe Ben and Summer a great deal. Same with my sister and my friends who all came here to find them. Please…"

Emma saw the serenity in his eyes and nodded. "Alright. I'll tell you what I know. I want to help Ben and Summer too if they're in trouble. They're both good people. First things first. I need to heal my Pokemon at the Pokemon Center. Then we can talk at the Looker Bureau."

"We need to tell our friends." Sven said. "Is it okay if we meet you there?"

"Sure. It's near Rouge Plaza, across from Sushi High Roller." Emma put her helmet back on and withdrew Crobat and Malmamar. "Okay, I'll stop by the Pokemon Center quickly and head back to the Bureau. Come on Mimi."

"Mraaawr!" The Espur jumped into Emma's arms before she darted off.

"It's almost time to meet the others at that tower." Sven said. "Let's meet up with them and tell them we found Emma." Takumi and Ami nodded before they left the alleyway.

A few minutes later, the team entered the small building. Emma was there siting at the desk wearing more casual clothes. One male and two female gangsters were also there. "Hello?" Ami asked.

"Oh, hi guys!" Emma waved as she got off the chair and hurried over to them. "Wow. Big team you go here."

"Yeah, I don't think the Looker Bureau ever had this many people in it at once." The male gangster replied. "Kinda crowded, but it's a lively feeling."

"So, you're Emma?" Keisuke asked.

"Yup."

"And you're in charge here?" Erika asked.

"Yup, yup. The previous owner bought out the whole building, so rent's no issue."

"Your pretty young to be running the place yourself." Kyoko said. "I'm impressed."

"Well, my friends from the old Lumiose Gang are helping out too."

"Of course!" One of the girls said. "Old Booker really gave us a chance at a better life!"

"Who's Looker?" Chitose asked.

"He's the detective that brought me here." Emma replied. "I grew up on the streets alone and he took me in. He did a lot for me."

"And these three?" Sven asked, glancing at the three gang members.

"Oh, they were part of a gang I took down once and they decided to make me their boss. After a…incident with Mr. Looker they turned a new leaf. When I was put in charge here, they decided to help me out."

"Yeah, we'll keep this place up and running! For Looker!" the male member said.

"Anyway, you're all friends with Ben and Summer?"

"Ah, yes, we should introduce you." Rand said. "Emma, these are Nokia, Yuuko, Yuugo, Arata, Date, Fei, Kyoko, Keisuke, Yu, Chitose, Ryuji, and Erika. I don't know if Ben and Summer told you about their mission, but Ranger Union sent them here two weeks ago on a secret mission. Shorty after they arrived, we lost contact with them."

"I meet them here in this city when Mimi and I were getting groceries. We heard music and it led us to Pichu."

Pichu strummed his ukulele. Mimi squealed in delight. "Hey, about that…" Ami said. "How come you don't keep your Espur in a Pokeball like your other Pokemon?"

"Mimi doesn't have a Pokeball. Mimi was my friend long before I became a Trainer."

"I see…"

"Um, while we're on the subject of our friends, if you don't mind me asking, what's with the creatures you came in on? Mimi doesn't think they're Pokemon, and I never saw a Pokemon that can talk or evolve on the fly like that before…"

"Oh, well, um…"

"They're Digimon." Nokia replied. "They came from another world."

Everyone turned to her. "Nokia!" Fei grumbled.

"What?"

"Another world?" the male punk asked. "You for real?"

"Nokia, that's classified information!" Wendy scolded.

"So? Emma's a detective, isn't she?"

"That doesn't entitle her to know Ranger Union affiliated secrets like this!" Rand replied. "If word gets out everywhere, it can start a worldwide panic!"

"Well, after all those rifts Sabios opened during the One World Plan, I'd say it's a little late for that, isn't it?" Kyoko asked.

"Rifts? Oh wait! You mean those strange holes that mysteriously appeared in the sky a few months back?" one of the ladies asked.

"Oh yeah, I remember that!" Emma said. "There was that weird black monster that showed up in it! So, was that a Digimon?"

"Sort of." Erika replied. "A man tried fusing himself with a Digimon and a Pokemon. We worked together with Ben and Summer to stop him."

"In any case, I see no harm in telling Emma about Digimon or where we're from." Takumi said.

"I agree." Date said.

"That's a shocker." Chitose murmured. "I didn't think you'd be the first to trust someone."

"Well, let's just say, I can relate to these guys. I was once part of a trouble making gang before I met Matayoshi."

"Really?" Emma asked. "Who's Matayoshi?"

"He's my senior detective. Well, was. He's retired now, so I took it upon myself to do my best for the force in his steed. Just like how you're trying to fill in this Looker guy's shoes. And of course, Takumi and Ami back there are Kyoko's assistants. So, they can relate to being inspired to detective work at a young age."

Emma looked at Takumi and Ami. "You two are detectives too?"

Kyoko nodded. "That's right. Our encounter leading to them working for me was a…unusual one. But I'm happy it happened. It's good to have companions I can count on."

"Aw, thanks Kyoko." Ami smiled.

"So, what's this about another world?" one of the females gangsters asked.

Rand sighed. "Well, we've already set that ship off, I guess we have to sail it out. Just keep in mind, what we're about to share with you is top secret and must stay between us, okay?"

"Of course!" Emma smiled. "We can keep a secret!"

"Okay…so, who wants to explain it?"

"I'll do it." Yuugo replied. "The truth is, save for Sven, Wendy and Rand here, me and my friends came from another world. One day my father was testing out a new project that went haywire and sent us all to Oblivia."

"Oblivia…That's where Ben said he met Pichu, wasn't it?" Emma asked. Mimi nodded.

"That's right." Takumi replied. "Ami and I were there when they met on Doloce Island. That's where we landed and met Ben, who was on a Mission in Oblivia at the time."

"What we found out much later was that the project was sabotaged." Yuugo continued his story. "By a man in this world who also was accessing the Digital World. A different world where Digimon came from."

Wormmon appeared from Ryuji's Digivice. "Erika was the only human who lived in the Digital World because she fused with me. That man kidnapped us and one by one started dragging other Digimon to Oblivia too."

"After resolving the incident, we went back to our receptive worlds." Yuugo said. "But since then, we've been working on connecting our world to the Digital World, making it our mission to bring humans and Digimon together peacefully, like how humans in this world live alongside Pokemon."

"Oh, wow." Emma said. "So, wait, if you came from a completely different world and went back, how did you come back here now?"

"Let's just say we got a little help from a friend." Ami smiled.

"Now I get it. I'm sorry about what happened back there. When I saw you fly in one those Digimon, I couldn't help but feel suspicious."

"Don't worry about it." Takumi replied. "What matters is you understand now."

"Well, now that Emma and her friends know about Digimon, I guess there's no harm in telling them about Ben and Summer's mission." Wendy said.

"I suppose not." Sven replied.

"When I met Ben and Summer here, they said they were looking for an unusual Pokemon." Emma said. "Rumors were rising about a powerful Pokemon appearing in Terminus Cave. I was going to tell a good friend of mine who's a Pokemon Trainer about it, but Ben and Summer insisted they need to do it."

"I see." Yuuko nodded. "The truth is, it's not actually a Pokemon they were looking for. Ranger Union suspects it's a Digimon."

"What? For real?"

Sven nodded. "By the way, after Ben and Summer went missing five other Rangers were sent to look for them, but never returned. Have you seen them?"

"Other Rangers?" Emma asked. "Nope. Until you guys showed up, the only Rangers I knew were Ben and Summer. Guys, have you seen any others?"

"No, nothing like that." one of the ladies replied.

"I haven't seen them." the male shrugged.

"Me neither." The other lady added.

"They might have gone straight to Terminus Cave." Kyoko replied.

"Do you think something bad happened to them?" Emma asked.

"It would appear that a strange group attacked them in the cave." Keisuke replied. "We don't know who they were or what their motives were. All we know is that Pichu and Staraptor barley escaped. We don't know what became of their partners."

"Oh, no…" Emma murmured.

"Anyway, now we know what to do next." Kyoko said. "This "Terminus Cave" requires some thorough investigation."

Arata nodded. "Emma, where is it located?"

"It's located to the far east of the region on Route 18 which connects Anistar Coty to Couriway Town. It used to be a coal mine, but it was closed down years ago due to rumors of a monster."

"A monster?" Yu asked.

"Is it the same rumor you told Ben and Summer about?" Kyoko asked.

"It is."

"I guess it wasn't the Digimon after all then."

"What do you mean?" Nokia asked.

"These rumors started years ago. But the Digimon reading only appeared two weeks back."

"Oh, right." Emma replied. "Looks like I gave them a false lead."

"You didn't know." Ami replied. "It's not your fault, you just wanted to help."

"But if I didn't tell them, they wouldn't have run into the people that attacked them." Emma stood up. "I have to do something!"

"Emma…"

Nokia giggled. "Hey, look at her guys! She's like the Cyber Sleuth of this world!"

"It's hard not to see the resemblance." Fei grinned.

"Huh? What's a Cyber Sleuth?" Emma asked.

"Kyoko, Takumi, Ami, the three of them specialize in cases regarding the digital." Yuugo replied. "They've become increasingly popular with the rise of Digimon in our world. And Takumi and Ami both can't turn away when someone is in danger."

"Ha! Hey boss, I be they're the ones Ben and Summer told you about!" the punk guy laughed. "Sure weren't wrong if you ask me!"

"Huh? Ben and Summer told you about us?" Ami asked.

Emma looked out the window. "Well, you see…"

Emma sat at her desk with Ben and Summer facing her. "Mr. Looker told me that when people behave with evil intentions, he can't forgive them. But like Pokemon, people can evolve. Thinking how much we've changes since meeting him…I think I finally understand that. So, I'm going to stay in Lumiose Coty and help as many people as I can. See if they too can change."

Ben smiled. "You know something Emma?"

"Yeah?"

"You remind me of two good friends I made in Oblivia."

"Really? Who?"

"Two young detectives who were inspired by someone incredible. Come to think of it…it's been about a year since the day we met."

Summer nodded. "I bet right now those two are cracking cases and doing whatever they can to help people. That's in their nature. And they also believe in people evolving."

"I wish I could meet these people." Emma said. "They sound interesting."

Ben smiled. "Yeah. I bet you'd really get along."

"I see." Kyoko smiled. "Yes, that describes my assistants to a tee."

"Ben and Summer think highly of you two." Emma said.

"We think highly of them as well." Takumi replied. "If I never met them in Oblivia…I don't know where'd I be."

"Well…then it's settled." Emma said. "I'm going too. The policy of the Looker Bureau is: If you see someone in trouble, give help! If you see a Pokemon in distress, you help!"

"Heh, heh…an agency's policy is a code you live by." Kyoko laughed. "I suppose we can't stop you from following that code."

"All the same we should keep in mind these guys took down not just Ben and Summer but Kellyn, Kate, Keith, Solana, and Lunick as well." Sven said. "We should play this carefully. I don't like the idea of all of us charging into a trap."

"Perhaps we should send a smaller team to go in." Ryuji said.

"But what if they get caught too?" Yu asked.

"We'll have a second team following them in secret." Kyoko replied. "Once these unknown assailants attack the first group, the second team will catch them by surprise."

"Good thinking." Keisuke said. "So, who's going?"

"I should go!" Emma said already changed into her Expansion Suite. "I can lead you there."

"Whoa! How'd you change so fast?" Ami asked.

"I've been doing this a lot. Oh, and just so you all know I'm Essentia when I'm wearing the Expansion Suite!"

"Cool!" Nokia grinned. "You're like a superhero!"

"Heh, heh!"

"That is some pretty impressive tech you're wearing." Arata said. "Did that Looker guy make it?"

"No, that was another guy. Dr. Xerosic. He gave me the suit and his Pokemon before he and Mr. Booker left the region."

"I see." Takumi replied.

"Both of them wanted me to take care of things here after they left…and that's what I'm going to do! I won't let some evildoers run wild in Kalos!"

Date laughed. "Kid, I really take to you. Lopmon, we're joining the investigation!"

"Okay!"

Takumi, Ami, Date and Wendy stood in front of the entrance to Terminus Cave. Essentia, Sven, Keisuke and Ryuji were right behind them. "Okay, this is it." Essentia said. "Terminus Cave is inside…you four sure you're okay with being bait?"

"Hey, if it means I get first crack at these goons, I'm good." Date grinned.

"And I'm a Ranger, danger is nothing new to me." Wendy said.

"I'm not worried either." Tamkui smiled.

"Me neither." Ami added. "Because I know that if things get sour, you four will be ready to back us up."

"Of course." Keisuke nodded. "Leave it to us."

"You sure are putting a lot of faith in me even though we first met." Essentia said. "I'm starting to get a little nervous here…"

"Why?" Palmon asked.

"Because if I mess up, you could get hurt…What about you guys, don't you get nervous?"

Takumi looked into the cave. "Doggedly and with all my might, exabit endurance like a hard black iron."

"Huh? What's that?"

"That's the Kuremi Detective Agency's policy."

"Kyoko taught us that when we first started working for her." Ami said. "And we've followed that saying ever since."

"I see…" Essentia looked down. "Hey, Takumi, Ami, can I ask you something? It may sound weird…"

"Huh? What is it?" Takumi asked.

"Kyoko…do you see her like a mother?"

"Huh?"

"Like I said before, I grew up alone. I didn't know my parents. So, when I think about all Mr. Looker and Dr. Xerosic did for me I wonder…if that's what having a father is like."

Takumi smiled. "Essentia…no, Emma…I cannot imagine what those experiences were like for you. But I can understand if that's what you feel. Ami and I do think of Kyoko as a mother figure."

Ami nodded. "She can be strict at times. But I always sense the genuine care behind her words and actions. And family isn't just about blood ties."

"I see." Essentia nodded. "What about you Date? You mentioned a guy named Matayoshi?"

"Oh him? He always looked out for me whenever I did anything stupid."

"He helped me and Chistose a lot too." Ryuji asked. "Even though we were hackers."

"Thinking about it, he's like a father figure to the entire police force." Takumi replied.

Date laughed and slapped him on the back, making him stumble. "You got that right kid!"

Essentia smiled. "I see…Thanks guys. It feels good to know there are people who know exactly how I feel."

"How are your nerves now?" Ami asked.

"Much better. I'm ready! Let's do this!"

"That's the spirit!" Terriermon nodded.

Sven and Wendy posed. "Mission On!"

Elsewhere in the region a lady with orange hair in twin ponytails with a pink top, under a blue coat wearing pink boots and a white skirt sat in the sidecar of a red motorcycle. A Espeon was sitting in her lap. She heard footsteps and looked up. A man in blue with silver hair and a black and red machine on his arm, wearing some form of silver shades or a visor over his eyes walked towards them. A Umberon walked next to him as he approached. "Oh, you're back." The lady said. "Any luck?"

"We got a lead." The man put Umbreon back in his Pokeball and climbed onto the motorcycle. "A suspicious group was seen loitering around recently."

"Is it them?"

"I don't know. But we're about to find out. Hold on." He revved the bike up.

"Where are we going?" the girl asked, putting Espeon back in its Pokeball.

"A place called Terminus Cave. It's located on Route 18." They then started moving. "I will find you no matter what it takes. I won't let your evil spread any further!"
